Oh I totally believe it's an issue. 70% of the women I know will just collect information about someone to fuck them over with it later (especially other women). I am drilling it into my kids' heads (male and female) that the most important decision theyll make in life is who to marry. A bad partner will absolutely ruin you, and unfortunately most people suck. But thats not a secret. The only people I know who dont openly talk about this behaviour are chronically online weirdos.

Would that really bother many normal people? Or just random angry people on reddit? Most of the women I know are cautious about who they open up to, considering how many people suck.

Approximately 50% of all matings between chimps are rape. When humans are in life and death situations, like war, rape rates skyrocket (approx 75% of all women in the Congo have been raped in war). It is natural, and a component of our evolution. It allows a male to spread their genes with minimal effort and involvement, which is refered to as a "fast life history strategy". Theres no reason for this instinct to disappear just because we have complex societies now. When I walk by someone on the …

It would, scaring one is the worst thing you can do. But if you make enough noise they'll never get close enough to be surprised. (typically shouting "hey bear" every once in awhile, so that anyone in the area knows why you're shouting) So the hypothetical depends on the context. If I'm on a hike and hear rustling nearby, I'd rather it be a bear than some random guy who COULD be weirdo. But if i just spawn face to face with it, I'd rather it be a guy. To flip the tables, if you had a clear bag w…

I know this is your space, and I shouldn't be commenting. But I've always been really confused by why men are upset about the man vs bear question. From my experience about 97% of men are good, trustworthy people. About 3% of men will do something evil if they know they'll get away with it (some women are the same, but they aren't a physical threat). I've worked as an exploration geologist in Alaska, and have encountered grizzlies many many times. As long as you don't sneak up on them or do some…

I'm not denying people housing, jobs, or holding them back from advancement in society and self actualization. I'm just refusing to get in an elevator with someone if I have a bad feeling about them, not telling people where I live if they seem weird, etc. There is no equal right or equity when it comes to access to my own personal space. About 99% of men are wonderful people and I go to bat for them all the time. About 1% are fucking weirdos, who across the board can overpower me. What civil ri…

It is sexist. And misandrist. But when it comes to my life I'll recognise statistics. If its an east asian guy, I'd prefer that over a bear. But definitely not a black guy. If its someone with a mobility disorder, then I choose that guy over the bear, etc.

Okay, would you rather a woman or a bear then?

I'm gonna get shit for this, but why does the man-vs-bear thing bother people so much? I consider myself a male rights activist, but I would choose the bear. I've spent a lot of time in remote Alaska as an exploration geologist. 99.9% of bears dont want anything to do with you (except polar). Just treat them with respect and give them space. But 1 in 100 men will want to hurt me if given the opportunity to get away with it. Isn't the bear a rational choice? If you had $100 000 cash, would you ra…

You arent looking for the average person, youre looking for that 0.01% of women who actually aligns with you. Its a numbers game, so cut out women who are boring or punish diverse worldviews.

Or have a unique world view that she shares. I'm not exceptional, and neither is my husband. But we happen to see the world the same way and have the same values and dreams. The insane relief of actually finding someone with a brain like mine makes him a prize (and vice versa).

"Exceptional" is deeply personal. My spouse and I are both deeply middle of the road, 6/10 people. But when we first talked, it was exceptional. We both felt understood and seen for the first time, and it was genuinely exceptional to share little dreams and ideals with each someone who truly understands and shares these passions.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
