Hey, bro. Your story hits close to home. My wife and I separated last year after 13 years together, 6 married. For me, it was always something I needed to change. Too much time with family/friends, not helping enough around the house, not doing enough with the kids, not "seeing" her, not ambitious enough, not spiritual enough, just not enough. Despite all this, I poured myself into her and our relationship because I loved her and our family meant everything to me. It was cyclical the last 10 yea…

I'm sorry you're going through this, OP. After 13 years together and 7 years married my wife left me for "peace". I know all too well the feelings of being discarded like a piece of trash after years of loving someone with a full heart. One day it was like all the good times, memories, and laughs we shared didn't even happen. All she could see was that she wasn't happy and she needed to leave, and that I needed to be alone for "growth". We were 18 when we got together, 32 now. We went through ev…

I'm sorry this happened and you're feeling this way. I myself have gone without for about a year and a half. Haven't been with anyone after my wife left and sometimes feel that it's a blessing. On one hand, I'm a man and we have desires. On the other, I have come to value my time and don't want to give it to someone else. I'm honestly afraid that if I do have sex with another woman I'll end up feeling this guilt that you're going through. I'm still in love with my wife, she was everything to me.…

I had a similar experience. She came from nothing, we grew together for 10+, she started a business, became "overwhelmed" by the stress of it all, and suddenly I wasn't pulling my own weight, wasn't motivated, etc. And of course her therapist fully backed all of these claims. We had couples therapy with two different counselors and each time it was, "what are you doing for her heart"...you can't win. Best of luck brother, it gets better.

Hang in there, brother. My spouse moved out in early December and in that time I've lived in our empty home while trying to get it sold. It sucks. There are memories everywhere you look. The grieving process is a long one. Take some time for reflection and do some things that make you happy, whatever that may be. It gets better.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
