super insightful. I had a lot of trouble with maladaptive daydreaming to. Mindfulness and noticing techniques were very helpful for this. Rather than beat yourself for day dreaming or indulging the day dream, just gentle notice you are day dream and return to the present moment.

A lot of guys are taught that you can get women interested in you more if you act indifferent and ignore them a little. I never figured out if it's good advice or not but it's what guys think works. It's possible he is doing that with you. With future guys, I would make your expectations clear. " Ok, I will give you my number but you better not expect me to initiate conversations and make plans. Be a man or else don't bother calling me".

Husband here. Your husband sounds alot like me 2 years ago. I showed the exact same behavior (exept for the moving out thing). Perhaps it might help to explain what was going on inside me. I was working a super stressful job. I had four years to do my best or I would be let go. So I was working my ass off but still I wasn't working as much as I could because my wife wanted me to come home and help with kids. Totally reasonable.
