I've seen this a lot. The guy becomes obsessed with taking ownership over a girl, even if she makes it clear that she doesn't want him doing that. If you wanted to break contact with male friend, you would have done it yourself. Abusive ex, was he a bodybuilder, they often take steroids which lead to aggression.
