Einstein also took credit for a lot of his wife’s scientific accomplishments.

I don’t think it’s as bad as porn because no women were harmed in it’s production. But typically my answer to this depends on: Whether the erotica he reads written by women? Whether it’s really erotica or a regular novel with graphic, but well-written, sex? Themes in it: obviously anything non-consensual, violent etc is a massive red flag As for writing it? Personally, unless it was in the context of an erotic scene he was writing in some other novel. I’d be pretty creeped out.

My heart’s breaking for her. FDS needs to rescue her.

Why thank you! Are you in politics by any chance? It’s definitely hard! But I’ve found that I like myself better when I don’t gossip!

So I don’t want give away toooo much, but this was a private party in Dubai a couple of years ago. I was part of the team that organised the event. She kept being super condescending to the catering staff. Not all of them spoke English as their first language, and she kept calling them ‘those people’. There were a couple of other incidents, but the big one was her spilling her drink on a very, very expensive rug and blaming it one the staff.

I had the misfortune of meeting ScarJo a few years ago through my job. Awful, awful human being. Was rude to pretty much everyone she interacted with, and made some snide racist remarks. LVM and LVW like Reynolds and ScarJo deserve each other. 🤢

Last time a guy asked me if I was married, I said: “Oh yes, several times. Pity they all died so young” while playing with my grandma’s diamond necklace 😂

Arab culture is rough. My mum called me a spinster at 18.

This is so interesting! Culturally I know I was raised to always assume malice. It’s definitely been handy, but it can also be kinda exhausting sometimes

LOL when I was younger I wondered briefly if I wasn’t straight because I heard about hot guys making you feel turned on, and that had literally never happened to me IRL. Then I moved to a different city and realised I was just surrounded by ugly men.

Single, 26 and live in a 4 bedroom house with a yard! Me and my cat have a bedroom, an office, a gym and a guest bedroom for when family visits. Highly recommend it.

This is why I think it’s so important that women learn martial arts. Knowing how to use your body effectively can make up for a lot of differences in weight and strength. When I was 16, I was walking home around 8 PM. Cut through an alley (bc I’m dumb), two guys started following and then chasing me. They were easily a foot taller than me so overtook me in no time. Punch one in the balls, kicked the other in the neck. 11 years of karate, bitches. They had no idea what hit them, I then sprinted h…

Was sexually assaulted as a 9 year old in my fairly modest school uniform. It’s not about the clothes.

Totally. I’m more appalled about the way the comment was phrased, like this guy hit the lottery by stripping a poor rural girl of her autonomy and making her the bang maid.

It’s challenging! I know if I do marry, it’ll likely have to be a desi man. But really, I doubt that the HVM we talk about in FDS exist in desi circles, and if they do, they’re unicorns. Like HVM in desi circles feels like, not a chauvinist pig with decent hygiene and no mommy issues. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Go to the ABCD sub and it’s the post titled “Does anyone know any ABCDs who actually go for an arranged marriage?”

Usually they have limited education or transferable skills. Even if they could technically get some money in a divorce, without a job or education, it’s hard to find the nerve. Plus if you come from a rural community, there’s the stigma.

Pasting it here: WIFE I’m confused. Unless you left out a crucial detail — your husband does all the cooking and cleaning, for instance, or performs most of the emotional labor in your relationship — the man you describe as “caring and considerate” sounds like a freeloader. It’s time for you to take it up a notch. When we live with other people (much less marry them), there’s no room for subtlety about household expenses. The bills must be paid! It doesn’t sound as if you’ve made a direct reques…

This reminds me of the time my ex refused to help me return my wheelchair rental. I was recovering from a broken ankle and had made the transition from a wheel chair to crutches and needed help loading the wheelchair onto the bus. He flat out refused because he didn’t want to make the 10 minute drive out to my place.

10000% had the same experience my first few years in business. Both men and women were awful. They’d call it my ‘little project’ even though I was making more than I was at my previous job (which wasn’t terrible, $50k annually) 3 years in, they now ask me to hire them or give them advice. Just you wait, when you’re super successful they’ll be lining up to know you. Just don’t give them the time of day then. Running a business is incredibly hard, but so gratifying. You’ll learn a ton about yourse…

I couldn’t agree more OP. I went to uni with a quadriplegic dude who wanted to marry a nice, fair skinned, highly educated, conservative, religious, modest girl, and THEN wanted her to quit her job and look after him because he needed a caretaker! This guy literally smelled like drool all the time, and rode around his wheelchair telling people that he deserved a gorgeous domesticated wife because God made him suffer physically. :) Obviously he hasn’t found someone yet, but he WAS dating a girl f…

I just wanted to say that I know the guy over 40, Srini IRL. He’s super successful, has a 7-figure business, and 1000% a HVM. He’s also very very humble, and I think the show did both him and Aparna dirty. Aparna’s mom calling him a loser was uncalled.

I’m actually glad they had it that way in the book, so many women make that mistake. The book was a great lesson in what not to do! I’m glad she eventually left him.

Last year, I bought myself a brand new Jaguar paid in full. Everyone assumed my dad paid for everything, I wouldn’t say anything because I didn’t want to rub it people’s faces, but my dad LOVED telling people that his 23-year-old daughter paid for it in cash. Best feeling ever.

I’ve spent countless hours driving my ex to medical appointments and paying for medical bills. I got insecticide in my eyes once and was nervous to drive because my vision was affected and asked him to come with me (he doesn’t drive), he bitched about it the whole way. Breaking up with him was one of the best decisions I made.

Came here to say this. My mother was bedridden for over a year and my father waited on her hand and foot. Bathed her, fed her, tracked down every specialist in the country for a second opinion. Good men exist, but for every HVM there are 100 LVM sliding into DMs and ruining lives.

Any advice on how you can unruin something? My ex was great until he wasn’t anymore, and I have a decade’s worth of memories and favourite places ruined. How do I reclaim them in my head?

I was dating someone for 8 years. And I’ve always wanted to do something for Valentine’s Day, but it never really happened. Every single Valentine’s Day we had a fight, because he just didn’t believe in it. It didn’t matter that it was important to me. He did make it a point to send his mom a card though. Anyway, I dumped him today, and I feel good.

Holy shit. The comments on the last link. They’re horrifying. What’s wrong with people? I would pay for a stranger’s people if they were hungry, and his LVM ass wouldn’t give her $10!? And people were justifying it? God. I hope she got out.

What about if you aren’t able to have kids of your own? I’m in the middle of tests, but it looks like I won’t be able to ever have my own children. I always did want kids, so I’ve been considering dating single dads. Do you think that’s a bad idea? You should I date someone childless and then adopt?

100% My boyfriend and I are long distance, and he doesn’t make much money at all (not an issue for me). He will save every last penny to be able to afford a ticket and fly 15 hours so we can meet halfway every 3 months. If he wants you, he’ll work for it.
