No and yes. In most cases when a man asks a woman he just met to hang out alone, unless she’s extremely clueless or naive chances are she’ll pick up on the fact it’s meant to be a date. The old “I just thought we were friends hanging out” is usually just a cop-out phrase that really means she wasn’t feeling. Where you live impacts your dating chances in many ways more than just race. Living in a small town not close to any large city definitely limits your options in general. Where I am mixed race couples are so common that it's not even an interesting sight anymore. We still see our fair share of racism in the dating world but it's far from a crippling factor.

Racism is alive and well and it definitely does factor into dating. For me it's a blessing in disguise, I wouldn't want to date a racist anyway.
