PM me if you would like to chat about this with me. I will be straight up honest with you. I am a man about a decade older than you and live in a different country on the other side of the world that is culturally similar in a lot of ways. Even if I did want to have a crack, logistically it isn't going to work but I would be honest regardless in case you are worried about a conflict of interest. Many people have made good comments, there are some other more nuanced things that are probably worki…

Failure means you had the courage to try and that makes you better than those who don't. More importantly it makes you a better version of yourself. Failure is a way to learn but you need to think about it differently - work out what you did wrong. Treat it as an exercise / like practice or a game - almost no one gets things right the first time. Far far far greater people than you, who are now legends of history have failed. Sometimes they are legends because they were the only one who had the …

Have you watched his lectures? Do you actually know what he really teaches and what he really stands for? He isn't a conservative, he is actually a liberal centrist (centre left if anything) and he opposes the ideas of both the alt left and the alt right. He is one man, that stands up for what he thinks is right and uses his extensive clinical experience and scientific research to try and help people. He can only do what he can and is open about his flaws. He had been doing that long before he c…

To be fair - Society is fucked and can send all sorts of messed up messages into the minds of those who are legitimately suffering. Lot's of people say they are happy and like to present the appearance of success. But often deep down they don't feel right and choose to suppress it and live in blissful ignorance, or to scapegoat others rather than look inside at themselves. People choose the easy & pleasant lies over the difficult & harsh truth. Deep down there are problems.

This. I first learnt about Jung and the whole concept of the shadow and alternative sets of beliefs through Peterson - though I kind of intuitively knew this just needed help understanding it (The subtle art of not giving a Fuck by Mark Manson is also a good - more humourous read to get you started and thinking a bit differently). Most of the stuff by Peterson I watch, listen to or read has more to do with his teachings and his books than the stuff that is politicised (which really is a tiny fra…

Seems like self sabotage to me. Look into Jordan Peterson and Carl Jung. You will find you have unhealthy subconscious beliefs that impact your thoughts, feelings and self worth to a massive degree. Everybody has these subconscious irrational beliefs that start to form in childhood, and are fed by unresolved traumas, being treated poorly or abused by people & receiving lots of negative or incorrect messages from world. These dark beliefs are largely irrational and can be responsible for a lot of…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
