Awesome - Almost went that route in my early 20s but had a couple of duds while corporate career simultaneously was taking off so have stuck with corporate America. Once I get my F-U money in the next ~10 years or so that I'll never have to work again, I hope to go back into business for myself in some regards (either that or be a professional Board of Director member).

Solid - on track for nearly $1m annually then. You either are a corporate exec or own a fairly successful business. I make a bit less than half that weekly (mid-level exec in corp america).

Sounds like you have plenty of other reasons to move than just women. Are you within driving distance to a larger city? Could always buy a flat/apartment and airbnb it and use it yourself when its not rented when you want the bigger city life.

If you are only having sex 1-2x per month pre even engagement, id move on or figure out how to reframe and get that to as much as you want. It'll be once per year after a few years of marriage (at least together) if it's already that low. Are you both in shape and exercising/lifting (you)?

Who cares if you don't respect them? Corporate America game is a real skill. If someone has the ear of upper mgmt, even if they are idiots, try to go out of your way to have a cordial relationship and praise them to others when they do actually deserve it. I've had some of those schlubs end up getting me some key projects with board and CEO visibility because they saw me as an ally even though I laughed at their incompetence internally

I'd suggest building relationships up and down the accounting department even in silos you don't have a lot of direct access. Compliment people, show some interest, say hi and smile and generally be cordial. This will work for about 95% of corporate America situations. The other 5% you either fucked up or the person you are dealing with is a psycho and do your best to avoid them including a new company if really needed. If people like you, they generally won't get upset at you and you can even l…

Doing it for a month or two till you get your barrings though isn't a bad idea or once in a while. But yeah, for the average joe, that's about $4k/year pre-tax income at $240/month. Doesn't even count ubers, etc.

Sigh, there are a lot of moving pieces with "climate change" (fwiw, the climate is always changing). With regards to global warming, despite the media/gov't pretending there are only two camps, there are actually quite a few. Various camps 1) The earth isn't warming 2) The earth is warming entirely from natural causes 3) The earth is warming predominantly from natural causes 4) The earth is warming and we can't tell what is causing it 5) The earth is warming predominantly from human causes but t…

Yup - feminism, SJW in general, climate change/environmentalism, socialism, etc are all neo-religions.

"Not if you're lifting, gaming, upping your SMV, status etc." This definitely will help. The problem is simply a numbers game. Let's say the US has 10 million moderately to extremely attractive women from the ages of 18 to 40. Let's say there are 10 million moderately to extremely attractive men from the same ages. Let's say TRP really takes off, and there are now 20 million men in this category, but still only 10 million attractive women. Simple supply and demand models will tell you this is a …

I'll largely agree with that, but they definitely still want men for their money through 1) taxes 2) alimony 3) child support 4) clothes/makeup/shoes/hair/etc. There is a reason women still get married and sites like seekingarrangements is so popular.

Gives you a lot of risk in valuation, though. If crypto loses 95% of its value in a panic in the next major recession, that's significantly worse than losing 50% to your wife. Diversification is extremely important.

Great post. The Pareto principle is one the earliest things I learned in corporate America and have used it to great advantage for myself personally (averaged a 20% CAGR in income the last 12 years). It really does apply in just about all aspects of life.

He actually gave two facts - two specific examples where emotions ruined something good. Society and life runs well when it runs logically. It runs horribly when it is run by emotions. Rather than say not letting women vote, I'd rather only those who had a net positive tax contribution to that branch of government be allowed to vote. If you are paying in, you can vote. If you aren't, you can't.

The top 1% making more money doesn't hurt the bottom 20% - it actually increases their wealth as those people create jobs and spend tons of money on things which also creates jobs. The reason wages have stagnated is because of the 6 things I listed a couple of posts ago. The top 1%'s wealth went up just as fast the prior 200 years in America and wages went up rapidly for everyone. And yes, real wages have barely risen since the early 70s but household income has gone up over 30% in that time. Wh…

Do you just not even read what you or I said and move the goal-post? You said wages have been stagnant from the 70s, which they have not. And I gave 6 reasons why wages have been (mostly) stagnant in the US in the last few decades, of which 4 are primary. Regardless, its not my job to provide for people who don't make personal sacrifices. Case study of the two brothers - both with similar IQs, looks, etc -1 year apart. 1) Brother 1 studies and works hard in school. He makes great grades. Joins m…

No, you are missing the point. It's not rigged and the pie isn't static. When you create a company that creates so much value like Microsoft, Amazon, etc, you earned that wealth and created millions of high paying jobs along the way (directly and indirectly). If Apple didn't exist today, you'd have a couple less billionaires and one less extremely rich CEO. But you'd also have less consumer options and hundreds of thousands of fewer jobs globally, if not millions. In other words, they EXPANDED t…

Someone else making more money doesn't effect me one iota - period (And their wealth growth nearly always means mine does as well). It's not Jeff Bezos job to encourage me to study, stay in school, work hard and long hours, take risks with investments and to save rather than spend my money to create wealth. I did that on my own. I grew up poor and only 2 generations removed from MS & HS dropouts for grandparents. I started off making $7/hr as a cashier. I now make over $300k a year in my mid 30s…

Hah - the driving force behind all of Western society for middle class has been trickle down with the single exception of Norway which got lucky and had a massive resource relative to their small population (oil) they could export to other western countries that had a capitalist economy for profit collectively. Do you really think wealth trickles up? lmao Where do you think high paying middle class jobs come from? And the CEOs aren't where the top 0.1% where the wealth is concentrated. CEO salar…

"You can have capitalism that doesn’t let 82% of the wealth go to the top 1%." Bullshit. How exactly do you do that and maintain incentives to innovate, work longer, work harder, and risk your capital going up in smoke on an investment? And the point is moot anyway. What does it matter to me that some guy can afford a 300 foot yacht? It doesn't hurt my life at all. My wealth is not going down just because Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates net worth went up another $20 billion last year - in fact my net w…

It's only an issue because the media, universities, etc makes it out to be an issue. The truth is, even our poor live far better than upper class people did 150 years ago. Think about it this way. Would you rather live in a society where 1) Everyone makes $20k a year and the median net worth is $1k with the top 1% have a net worth of say $100k with GDP stagnant (socialist utopia) 2) Median household income is $60k/yr, the median net worth is $100k, the poor have a household income of $20k and th…

In addition to saving money by not spending, utilize all other forms of wealth creation you can - the easiest usually being 401k (tax deduction, company match, tax free growth, etc) but also IRAs, regular trading accounts, and for those with a little more risk tolerance things like rental and commercial properties. Once you achieve financially independent, everything about your life becomes easier - career choices, time choices, women, hobbies, etc. If you start putting in $5k in investments at …

For most people, a few Vanguard or Blackrock ETFs are a good place to put money to work with investments and just re-balance once a year or so. I'd put some in S&P 500 index fund, a small cap index fund, a mid-cap index fun, and an international index fund. Index funds are great because they are low cost and allow you to easily diversify. Schwab, Etrade, etc all have good platforms for individual investments. If you have 401k at work, make sure you utilize it as well, especially with company mat…
