Appreciation is usually #1, even you noticing the good care is value itself. Might also be a good idea to find things you enjoy, that you can bring back to the relationship and both benefit from?

Have you considered introducing him to Jordan Peterson? One of the Petersonian ideas is "You don't really win in a fight with your spouse - if you insist on that, then you're with a loser" - he might see it differently when put that conversations, especially with spouse, need not be arguments

My SO, after we got married, noticed that I was spending too much time in VR playing games and ignoring physical exercise, which led to a change in my physical appearance (not by a HUGE margin, but less visible musculature). At first I resented it but she also never said anything about it, just quietly began to respect me a little less. Thank God I noticed and just stopped playing cold turkey for a while. It took me seeing "525 hours in 2 months" counter in STEAM to change my attitude. Over the …

I've got a business degree, and to be fair I ended up in a job where that helped get through the door, and paid pretty well, but relied more on my own technology interest than my education at school. Business school [undergrad] is useful if you want to be an accountant (50 hrs/week, 40k starting), investment banker (80 hrs/week, 100k starting), or go into a large corporation's business as a cog in the machine. I spent 8 years in the industry before I found another much more interesting calling, …

"prove my worth" is tough, since we all feel like we're filled with potential and need others to recognize it. Building a solid home, not just the physical but the mental and spiritual environment - a "home base" for you and your partner to deal with the world writ large - is not a trivial task, nor is it one that is easily nor readily available in the modern era. Maybe if we use a change of framing - 60-70% of college attendees are female now. Are all those degrees valuable? If so, to whom? If …

I enjoy cooking meat the most, and I found getting the Ninja Air Fryer (air convection oven) reduced my steak prep and cooking time by 90%. I used to take my steak out of the fridge (to get to room temp, about 15 mins), pat it dry, season with kosher salt and pepper, then season my cast iron skillet, turn the heat up to 8, sear some butter, then the steak, perfectly 2 minutes each side... then let rest for 4 minutes.... But with the air fryer I just slap that sucker into the basket after the 3 m…

your thinking and well thought out reasoning, leading to the "win win" of boosting the confidence of your man while setting him up for success at arms length is amazing. May it boost him to new heights and contribute to the positive cycle of believing in your partner --> better output
