From my understanding, when it comes to emotional baggage or some kind of turmoil, girlfriends are better for that. Our men ARE knights and all that... But they can only do so much. Hope you are having a better day out there!

Hey, I am a 30 years old female who is in the similar situation. Been in a relationship with a man who is not compatible with me, but still struggle to move on. If you want to chat we can do so! From my personal experience, if I had one advice to my younger self in such situation, I'd tell myself, to truly focus on myself, not any men will fill the gaps and void I've felt throughout my life. The need for a mans love sometimes steams from undelt issues or even trauma within. That was in my situat…

Honestly, I wouldn't be able to look at my man after having to abort his child. That's the final straw, everything else is negotiable. But you do you... Good luck!!! I wish you well 🥀🌿

Have a you brought this issue with him? Is there any chance he is unaware of how this makes you feel? Any chance he truly didn't notice you in public? That one time? Or it has been a repeating situation, if so... Thank him and next him

Not an American, as an asian woman who grew up in Eastern Europe where it is mostly traditional... Reading this made me think "wtf..."

On the similar note, I've met men who loved particular woman so much that they would refuse to engage with her in sexual manners. As if that would ruin the fantasy they project onto her of some divine muse. I wonder if these type of men are just hopeless romantics and want to go through life simply engaging in fantasy love than actual marriage-relationship that requires work and commitment.

Could you name exact type of rituals or any examples for someone who has never tried such things before?

it is very considerate of you to say that. I feel cared for. I didn't even notice that it was harsh of him to say that, I guess my opinion of myself is already at its lowest so i just took it as it general knowledge

I appreciate you for the willingness to share an advice with some stranger far away. I live in Lithuania, the country has one of the the highest suicide rate and we still don't do much.

I will be. In the meantime, would you suggest any alternatives 'treatments' for me to have a chance to change?

I will be seeking a therapist. I know for sure I was seeking that abuse since it would associate with the way my father would abuse me if I misbehaved. I considered it to be 'Love' Therapy costs a lot of money, would you offer me anything else as a substitute? Thank you for your word

For some reason, I do think he was the highest value men out there and I just didn't fit in there so I got what I deserved which is a slap to the face. (it wasn't a slap, it was more of pushing my head to the sides and later on to the sit of the head chair) I don't know why I am justifying his actions. I've seen my mom being beaten by my father, I myself was beaten by my father so to me it was always clear that the women in my house just 'ask' for it with their shitty behaviour.

Thank you for saying that. I feel like I deserved it because I did never fully commit to him and I always back pedalled each time the relationship felt like getting more serious. Since I always felt like he is out of my league I never allowed myself to believe that he is truly into me. So we had this on and off toxic relationship for 3 years and it was finally sealed with me shit testing him to the ground - pretending to leave - but then coming back to which he as I told started hitting me for m…

Hello, I am in an on and off relationship with a a very dominant guy. Things with him are very rocky, either super good or super bad. Weve been like this for over 3 years. Lately we've felt as if we finally are commited and mature enough to make it through. I am scared though. Should I continue to be in a serious relationship with him?

Decided to get back to your answer after some thinking and realised that I have taken your advise for all its worth. You've literally told me to break up with him even though you have no idea about our relationship. I feel anger that I didnt stood up and replied with my side of the story, because it is in fact not as straightforward as you seem to understand. I hope your past relationships arent affecting your future too much.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I'm writing this while being overwhelmed with emotions. I am aware that it is either I learn to trust him and accept his career or I break up with him. This post was mostly venting I suppose...

Can you suggest what specifically to read ?

Can you elaborate why?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
