E. I would always be "going for it" but if they still wanted the friendship on those terms that's fine. I have had verblong lasting friendships where I never stopped hitting on her. But I understand my experiences are not typical.

When I was a little kid I was not stereotypically masculine and played more with girls than boys. I never felt I wanted to be a girl but definitely that I wanted to be in the girl social world. Kind of like a fag-hag but I had no concept of such a thing. This radically shifted when I hit puberty. I became hyper masculine and pretty successful with women.

Distraught doesn't equal incipient love and if it's not love why worry about it. Move on. If was the beginnings of love you'll be able to tell by a sense of hollowness in the rest of your relationships. Not mild disgust which could be the same ego stuff as distraught but a sense that the other girls really great but you can't fully savor that greatness for an unidentifiable reason.

So what’s going on here? Are men’s stated preferences not their actual preferences? Often. Remember many of these preferences are hypothetical and they don't take into account the dynamics of raw desirem Or perhaps, do the men who are vocal about their preferences on the internet not represent a majority of men IRL? . There is some of that, especially on body count and modesty. Body count subconsciously appeals to pretty much all straight men, but it's suppressed because it linked up with Abraha…

Well, as I am sure you're aware fiction has to make sense, evolution of all things doesn't. Indeed, it alters the very notion of sense. It just needs a stable allele equilibrium. Solve backwards from that .

So given what you laid out the obvious short-term evolution is towards a quasi-polygamous species. Chad's will proliferate, for I think obvious reasons, but so will women who want kids but care less about commitment. That's because most commitment-seeking women will not be able to marry the man of their choice and hence not reproduce. The question is what happens to the extra men. Because even if all fathers are Chads in three generations, hypergamy will then demand that only Giga-chads are trul…

Its from lack of forced monogamy. The very reason almost all societies have it, is because without it the left behind men raise up. The only time it really works is when constant war drains the would-be incel population.

Spheres are quite different. Women are usually at peak physical attractiveness I their early to mid twenties men in their late 30s. Both sexes hit their cognitive processing peak (can think of this as max grey matter) around 25 but the peak upwards and decline is sharper for men. Most women finish their long distance white matter connections in early thirties, men late thirties early forties. This is when you might think of their brain as complete and it often elicites a noticeable change in per…

You approached someone you were interested on and introduced yourself. There are a host of body signals leading up to the approach that mediated this process but if bold enough one could skip them. Most people were too nervous for that. It was common that at parties or bar, if your friends noticed someone giving you positive signals and liked them they would egg you on. The egging on alone was what drew a lot of people to the process. even if they were coupled they wanted to egg their single fri…

Genetic changes which govern behavior take several hundreds of thousand years to occur, the buff look has really been only in-and-out since the antique. They definitely do not. For example agricultural effects are entirely reasonable because the portion of the population that was successful at agriculture grew at a far faster rate than the rest of the population. Any alleles that were associated with agricultural success would rapidly expanding in frequency. That said, I don't think that's what'…

So there is probably no real.effect here but if there was, it's most plausibly a lateralization effect. Right hemisphere of the brain is better at holistic process, Left hemisphere with detail processing. Also, the Right hemisphere is upregulated by threats, while the Left hemisphere is upregulated by opportunities. It's highly plausible that most people find males slightly more threatening even in photos.

You want to separate proximate and ultimate mechanisms here. Only the latter will be directly optimized using the person (or other evolutionarily selected entities) consciousness. The proximate mechanism is likely that Elon made her hot and tingling. Perhaps the actual sex itself was fantastic. Why are these things happening? Because the signaling mechanism on the associated nerve cells is dopaminergic and the thought of being closed Elon induces the release of dopamine making the nerves themsel…

Ok, but how many women have six-pack and a Lambo as standards rather than fantasy? If they do they are deluding themselves. How is this different from saying men want a girl with a sub 5 body count, DD boobs, an 18 bmi and always has a classy full-face of makeup. These things are all probably true, but beyond getting that trophy wife guys have other desires and preferences in women.

So there are completely universal themes sure. Then there is a sublevel below universal but above kinks that you might call type. That erotica is written to types is completely clear. This is likely Texas sharpshoot fallacy. The confident short men are confident precisely because they have other qualities that make up fir their height. I am 5'7" and I didn't really grasp that height was a big deal until we'll into college. I thought it was like guys being into blondes. The just a plot device thing is not true. Many women (I am trying to think if most) actively want evil men, at least in certain moods. My wife and her friends write this stuff. Most as their primary job.

They definitely do not. They complain a lot. Men do not gave the same terror of settling. Because ultimately they don't have to settle. Cheating is just as reproductively effective as changing wives from a mans point if view. Except only that he has to experience his wife presence, which he may now hate and loudly complain about to other men.

It's not a lie, that is in fact how beauty works. Though I think there is something like an uncanny valley. I'll say for what its worth that this effect becomes obvious as the attractiveness of the people you date rises because a point comes where people who were long just obviously attractive to everyone become meh because they are just outside the range of your now partner.

If this is the norm, why is a source of insecurity among people in the same milieu. Most people who went to college went to the college the did because Harvard would not have accepted them. But, it would be unusually touchy to get upset at people, of their own social class, mentioning how great a school Harvard is in their presence. Now if it was a bunch of Harvard grads sure, but not people on the same level.

The answer is to make the gym your hobby and put social life on pause for a bit while you break your body in. After a couple of months the soreness and general achy feeling will subside. Most people actually find it functions as an anti-depressant or even opiate but admittedly that's not as common as gym rates make it sound.

All the study is saying is that whatever attractivess penalty they applied to the men for being disabled did not go away when they were asked whether they would consider dating the man themselves. The second is thought to issue a stronger virtue signalling response and so the ratings should go up But an easy obvious concern us the experimental set-up already illicted a high signaling response on the attractiveness question because of increasing social concern around ablism.

It's pretty difficult to do anything in your life more valuable than having ann additional child fir the simple reason that the child has half of your genes so is likely at least half as talented, but her whole life to pay back the world for the time you spent raising her. There are so hyperbolic fields like pop music, politics, and -edge medical research where a half-as-talented daughter's work is not even close to half as valuable as her mother's but not many.

While I think the narrative here is a little too psychological -- mostly this is a complex of impulses and emotions -- it's spot on in its conclusion. The high fence benefits the man who out less devoted, even if otherwise more Chad-like, men. Only the perseverant man shall pass!

I think the way to square this circle is by acknowledging that 1)different women are impressed by different things 2)the things which impress a large fraction of women are already well known. There is no point to beating yourself trying to "seem impressive.” 3) when you say you don't need to be impressed what you are really saying is that your not impressed by commonly impressive things. Good lord. Is there no room for romance in your world? No feeling that neither the masculine or feminine can be fully actualized without the interplay of its complement? That they were literally made for each other? We must turn back.

That's not how men's minds work. If a guy got upset at that, the first impulse -- though it could be checked -- would be to see him as u manly. And, U would expect similar salience from other men who witnessed the same thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/22 02:36 AM

This seems like a basic truth. Indeed, as a man you want this to be so and for the woman to demand it as a matter of principle. This way less passionate suitors will be weeded out even if they might be a strong competitor otherwise
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/22 02:22 AM

The salt in the wound however, comes when even the most mediocre women wield this same entitled attitude, often demanding men jump through multiple hoops just to get their attention. This is the biggest problem men face in modern dating, and many have opted out of it entirely for this reason. If I am reading you right it's the entire traditional notion of courtship, which in early days would have socially demanded the man "woo" any woman he found desirable enough to pursue. Is that right?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/22 02:11 AM

I am quite sure how to ask this, but I am wondering why their is a hurt. For example, just about any college the average person could recognize by name thinks most men are unworthy of going there and explicitly expresses that by saying you need XYZ to a competitive applicant. But, most men are hurt by this, at least in an ourtward. Obviously romantic desire is different but still one might expect a acclimation to what seems a persistent feature society.

A 100K is not really enough for an 8 unless you are already good-looking and socially succesful enough to date 6s. Age matters of course but dating succes also varies with age. That said I think you would need upper 1s. Like junior -- but not just out of school -- professional pay. And, I guess to clarify it's not the money itself but the status level. So unless you have some draconian enforcement mechanism the equal body count thing will be impossible to maintain because there are men who 1) Strongly prefer their wife to have a low/zero count 2) Strongly prefer themselves to have a high count 3) Have enough value to outweigh most women's -- by comparison -- weaker preferences about either 1 or 2.

This is not the mechanism but your overall conclusion is more or less right. A woman does not gain reproductively from having many partners because she can only be pregnant from one at a time and the ideal would be to use the best existing nan every time. Having more partners suggest she cannot get or keep the best and so is a negative sign. In contrast men can theoretically have hundreds of pregnant partners at a time. It's dispositional that's why women give each other the warning ”He will never leave his wife. There are a couple of things that could be going on here -- besides just random observational variation. One, is that younger women struggle more with the attraction-fear dynamic axis. That is a spring powerful man is attractive, but he is also dangerous. If you make yourself physically vulnerable to him will he sweep you off your feet and scare away all the creeps. Or will he totally take over your life, physically abuse you, and intimidate anyone who tries to intervene. So, as a result younger…

So the fact that most divorces are initiated by women is protective of redpill women, in that the odds of them being just left are low. On top of that of course the legal system provides protection in the form of alimony and asset split. It is true that divorce is higher among women with very low income but this is because it's higher among low income people generally. Hypergamy is undoubtedly real and a powerful force but there is a lot of both oversimplification and overextrapolation. So for example intelligence will always count in how valuable a man is though rarely see this listed. This is how we are ”designed." Women are the choosers and they are driven to choose men who will produce healthy successful children. Not being chosen means that your qualities are not ones she instinctively feels would help her children succeed. One woman could be mistaken sure. Maybe even a whole subset, but all? It's not likely. More likely is that in fact your qualities would not be desirable in the next generation.

For all the same reasons as the other major dynamics. Men have the physiological ability -- and therefore instictual drive -- to supplement a bad primary relationship with a reproductively successful secondary relationship. This there wish fullness in a bad marriage will tend towards simply having a mistress rather than leaving, even if its not realistic for him to attain one. Women can only reproduce with one man at a time. Only if the husband is a good provider but bad genetically -- which in …

Because only confident men can do it, women who have this kink are on average more likely to end with confident men. That's a plus for reproductive success and so the kink spread relatively deep within the population.

The question is why it is more enjoyable. In theory the brain can be wired to have any level of enjoyment or disgust at the act of having sex with an appealing man or an inanimate object. But these levels are the ones that actually came to dominant the distribution. That is most brains are wired the way you describe. Why? The answer is almost certainly that this wiring had an evolutionary advantage over the alternatives. That's what I am speaking to.

His stems from the fact that women have to carry the baby during pregnancy and so having sex with a subpar man is an actual loss. Since she can't reproduce with a better one while pregnant. Men can get a better girl pregnant later that day so they lose little from having low standards. To be clear, I am not arguing that this is how people think but that this is why we evolved to have the urges and repulsions that we do.

If your defining raw lust as being indifferent to compatibility then yes. In that case "refined lust" which is simply the same but also considering compatibility is definitely and strong positive in holding a marriage together. Indeed, I think it is critical to cultivate lust for your partner so that it does not finish with the strains and stresses of life. As you said, you probably wouldn't put up with the types of strains every marriage sees, with the people that you love (family, close friend…

It's probably not attitudes because the gender gaps are larger on gender-egalitarian societies. Reason seems to be that in less gender-egalitarian societies making money is a higher priority than pursuing interest and saw both men and women go after the same jobs. https://psyarxiv.com/zhvre/

This honestly is what makes OnlyFans different -- creator/viewer -- interaction and why subscribing to it is much more like cheating. Though, I wouldn't consider either subscribing to OF or creating identical to cheating.

I assure you that they do. Limerence helps create this impression. Confirmation bias helps maintain it. I mean if you forced them to stop and think about all the people in the world and then estimate the probability that not one of them was a better match the more logical minded might say "ok I guess if you put it like that" But, the thought they are walking around with is that this is the best match.

The expectation is that women have to work outside the home in order to maintain their autonomy. This would require heavier and more rigorously enforced child support as well as for Fault Divorce that allowed a wife to keep up to all the joint assets and levy alimony if the husband was found to have abused her physiologically or physically. I know on the surface it seems like these measures work to men's disadvantage, but in fact they offer a credible commitment that increases the marriage value…

I find these comments a bit shocking. I believe I want and have a traditional relationship by these standards. The last time my wife worked for pay was the summer after her freshman year of college. She did much of the housework since we started living together her junior year and has been a dedicated homemaker since she graduated. At one point she had business cards that said Domestic Goddess…

Not everyone settles. Some people have the affirmative feeling that this person is the one for them and/or difficulty imaging how any real person could be preferable to their partner. These feelings rarely last an entire lifetime but they can easily last into the permanent commitment phase of a relationship.

The logic you used -- if you don't have sex with everyone then you must distinguish based on attractiveness -- implies that after you distinguish based on attractiveness, you sleep with all the attractive ones. Otherwise, whatever additional criteria you use beyond attractiveness also could have been the criteria that originally prevented you from having sex with everyone.

No, because the deciding factor could be a variety of things. You posited that the only thing was attraction. Not only is that not necessaryy, its not sufficient. Having sec with everyone you found attractive would be socially destructive.

The only reason most guys get shitted on for cheating is because women settle with a man they didn't think would have the audacity to cheat on her. Women are more tolerant if the man is valuable enough. This part is true

Well there is nothing you can do about a particular guy who may or may not be realistically interested in less physically attractive women. But, for the guys that are probably two main things 1) Being funny and in general the life of the party type of person. All guys will find this attractive but some will be utterly bowled over by it. 2) Incredibly loyal and supportive. Giving him the sense that you'll always be in his corner even when he fucked up will mean an enormous amount to some guys.

Men seem to value looks more than anything else, like chemistry/love, compatibility, etc. So based on that it seems like you would constantly be looking to trade up if you could. In reality, its women who are more typically looking to "move up." The relevant question for the man is would he cheat on the seven who loves him with the 10. But, there is no sense in which the instinctual male mind casts this as a binary choice. The choice aspect is forced on him by the fact that the 7 may leave him i…

I probably came off harsher than I should have. I was reacting more to u/figuringMyLife endorsement than your actual statement. I meant it when I said you have the every right to do what you want. At the same time I want to encourage young men to take up the mantle of traditional masculinity and reading a woman cheering on a more libertine approach was dispiriting. But, all of that is on me and I apologize for putting it on you.

We are truly lost. I believe in freedom and because of that I can say that if someone actively and deliberately chooses to live his life as a man-child then has every God-given right to do that. But do you really think you can build a family. Build a community. Hell, build a nation with adult males who believe their: duties are to be happy and have fun because that’s what makes me feel like I’m on top It boggles the man. This is some dated advice but we are not going to talk about how dated. My Fraternity used to throw parties that regularly had many more girls than guys, but this was a honed skill literally passed down from social chair to social chair. Hypergamy (the action of marrying or forming a sexual relationship with a person of a superior sociological or educational background) seems to be becoming less important to women in general. This trend seems to be a response to women’s accumulation of resource and status of their own over the past century. I know of no evidence that this is the case. It's not immediately clear to me either how to get a good metric bc the relative supply of suitably hyper males is going to influence both expecta…

A lot of relationships look like this: The man asks the girl on a date, and she reciprocates by planning a 2nd date. The man pays the bill on the 1st date, and she reciprocates by paying on the 2nd date. The man says "I love you" first, and she reciprocates by saying "I love you too". The man always initiates sex, but she reciprocates by rarely or never rejecting him. etc. Then the woman thinks the relationship is "equal" because she always reciprocates. But it's not equal, because only the man …

Normally my first guess would be hormonal but given that exact age range and behavior change it looks like the result of a thickening prefrontal cortex which prioritizes long-term reward. To the extent he now found playing the field "boring" that suggests to me that it was producing as sufficient dopamine surge in to keep his PFC excited so it began to preferrentially link to other goals/objectves.

I guess I don't understand the circumstance underwhich I, or a man Iin general, would not want a soft harem. I get that it might not be realistic or that the women you care about most object on principle grounds. But, these are constraints. If I could make it happen and the women I cares about most were ok with it happening then obviously I would throw myself headlong into making it happen.
