I don't completely disagree. Not sure about the first statement but I'm not going to fight women on how they feel in those kinds of situations. That said, there's a lot of context lacking from it, but I don't think it's literal. They're essentially saying many women don't feel safe around large groups of men whereas men usually don't have much concern around women.
