Help me understand whyAppreciate the perspectives of everyone. Agree on certain things a lot of you stated. I personally am a little bitter and the wound is fresh as one of you pointed out. Opinions can change and right now the thought of dating seems insane and too much. Probably the best ideal would be to as I stated enjoy my freedom, get a dog(again someone mentioned this), or hobby, and remember that every working girl is someone's daughter and not worth the trouble | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/12/25 02:38 PM
Never, ever do this….But what if it benefits me to have her stay in the marital home? She has now become my tenant and is bound by the divorce to live there for a minimum of 6 months paying me rent while I live in my other house? If after 6 months she can't assume the mortgage, I can re-new the lease or lick her out and get new tenants. Win win for me | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/12/25 02:20 PM
Help me understand whyThanks, I really thought it was just me that felt this way. Appreciate the feedback | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/12/25 05:56 PM
CS payment ConfusionAs someone who spent 20 years with this hell 1) make sure you have the necessary paperwork that states your wages will be garnished and how much MONTHLY which will include the Clearinghouse fee/percentage 2) make sure your garnishment includes the appropriate CH percentage and keep an eye on that. Sometimes the CH percentage changes yearly other times it could change every 6 months and your employer should be deducting that from your paycheck if garnishment is occurring 3) Your company can deduc… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/12/25 02:41 PM
Holiday HighpointsHigh points are spending more time with my aging mother, seeing my friends, continuing to build the relationship with my son. Additionally not having to fake time with her family, friends, and son. Never cared for the in-laws or her crazy sisters. Low points are not having the holiday vibe, bitterness, jaded, loneliness, sadness, and depression. What will I change next year taking the advice of the many strong men in this group as well as my therapist and making time for myself, enjoying the fre… | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/12/25 03:37 PM
I hate Christmas. While I can relate about hating Christmas, it was her favorite holiday, I will say some times you need to pretend for the kids, regardless of how painful. I stopped pretending one year as the boys were old enough and smart enough to realized that it caused me grief. That was the last year for almost 10 years I saw my kids. She took me back to court, accused me of this and that, and I lost all visitation rights and was limited to just a monthly 15 min call. Eventually they didn't want to talk to … | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/12/25 09:24 PM
Finding purpose after divorce? You're spot on. It only took me 2 divorces to realize I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. Literally working out daily, even if it means starting slowly helps. The dating younger gals is amazing. Preach on my friend | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/12/25 04:13 PM
Mediator success stories?Painless for us. No kids, split everything 50/50, start to finish less than 90 days from the moment she said I want a divorce (10/31/25) until it is finalized 1/30/26. We are just in the waiting game with the courts. Living our own lives since 11/15/25 and I even closed on my new house just this week. I own both houses and shes my tenant, got to love that | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/12/25 09:24 PM
How much weight did you lose after the divorceCongrats on being sober. That dramatic weight loss can't be good. On my frame I'd look sickly if I dropped that much weight in 3 wks. Hopefully it'll be over soon. From start to finish my divorce will be over Jan 30 (she said it was over 10/31 and filed 11/3, so for me quick and semi-painless) | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/12/25 05:42 PM
How much weight did you lose after the divorceCongrats on quitting drinking! | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/12/25 05:38 PM
How much weight did you lose after the divorceHopefully some of this was due to stopping drinking and not all depression. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/12/25 03:57 PM
How much weight did you lose after the divorceAfter reading this and relating to OP, decided to weigh myself. Starting weight 230 (6'8") Already lost 10 pounds and the 31st will be 2 months. 1st month I wasn't eating, just coffee. At least now I'm getting carbs, fruits, veggies, and some chicken. But damn its difficult. Also not easy to do much as I am living with my mom (stereo typical twice divorced 50yr old living with 80yr mom, ugh) until I close on my house, and she eats like a bird. This time next month if I dip to 210, that'll be the… | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/12/25 03:53 PM
What do I do with 1000’s of pictures of my STBXW on my phone?I went scorched earth with all the pictures. Took every picture off the wall, deleted my entire Google drive, tossed and/or burned ever physical thing she ever gave me, deleted all contact info minus her mobile until the divorce is finalized, and went so far as to pillage her social media accounts and removed as much as I could while she gave me "time to pack my stuff up". Talk about a relief and weigh lifted off my shoulder. She got mad and said she'll always have the memories and it was not fa… | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/12/25 05:30 PM

Need advice on something I should know betterDamn, that sounds fun but yeah stressful. Good advice. Been snipped since 2007 and won't play without protection. Honestly I'm thinking I might need to get them little blue pills | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/12/25 01:06 AM

Ladies be trippingDamn. Just be glad you're moving onwards and upwards. Best advice, ignore it but document it. In certain situations you can use it against her as libel and/or slander and possibly reduce any alimony and or CS you may be required to pay. X#1 sent various emails and texts msgs to family and friends saying bogus stuff, nearly got me fired from my job, that I used against her during yhe divorce and got my alimony reduced to just 9 months. Can't stress this enough, document everything and save it, yo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/12/25 03:25 PM
Anyone here do an assumable mortgage? We are going thru this right now. The mortgage company (planet home lending) was not going to charge any fees, just some simple paper work, and inspection ($600) and the house would be 100% hers. But they ran her credit and she had a low score with 2 of the 3 and said they aaid try again in May. So now she's my tenant and she's gotta improve her score. Ironically this was her mom's house previously and we had assumed the mortgage from them going thru Fannie Mae. Same steps as I mentioned but I r… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/12/25 03:31 AM
any men regret their vasectomy?I have a saying It's better to have lived and regret than not lived at all. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/25 02:52 PM
any men regret their vasectomy?Thanks, I might | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/25 02:51 PM
any men regret their vasectomy?Yup. Two of the three haven't talked to me in 15 yrs, when I married #2 (and that is now ended) and the oldest child only calls me when he's financially strained. He at least calls. It's sad when I think about it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/25 03:24 AM
any men regret their vasectomy?Wish I had gotten it done before I had kids, would've saved me from the daily hell #1 puts me through. Now she's trying the tactic that my second Adult kid is schizophrenic and she needs back child support from 2 yrs ago when he was still 18 plus continued ongoing support indefinitely. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/25 02:55 AM
Early 30s is marriage worth it?I agree with this 1000%. #1 wanted the same and I wish I had listen to my gut and walked away before kids. Still using two of them as weapons against me, despite them being grown adults, DM or check out my other posting. If you're questioning now, you need to part ways and live life, otherwise you will regret choices and paths not taken and end up a former shell of yourself when she does eventual divorce. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/11/25 11:08 PM
Number 2 up in flamesThey are. #1 had one of my kids federally disabled and now wants continued child support for an adult child. Look it up, its about as fucked up as it can get. She has a severe case of factitious disorder. I could potentially being paying child support indefinitely if I lose my case | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/11/25 04:35 AM
Just in shockEchoing others, you've got to hang in there. Don't do what I did and less than 1 yr after #1 go and marry #2. Get yourself right, mentally, physically and emotionally. It's going to be rough but survivable. You're young and just need to focus on the present. Whatever you do, don't look back at what was, look forward to what can be with the new and improved self. I will stress this one point, give yourself time to heal. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/11/25 01:04 PM
Number 2 up in flamesThats a whole other thread and topic. 2 words factitious disorder | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/11/25 10:00 PM
Number 2 up in flamesThx, I appreciate it. I really am feeling a little relieved strangely | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/11/25 02:08 AM
Number 2 up in flamesIt was her house before I moved in as her BF, then it was still her house until we married, and at the end of the day it's still her house, despite AZ being community property. Was easier for me to pack up and go. Not worth the effort to fight something as stupid as a house when we're amicable | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/11/25 02:07 AM
Uncontested QuestionIn AZ as well, and we are not going through lawyers, however we are using a mediator to get things done rather quickly. We went this route b/c we have a mortgage and a single car payment, so need to ensure things are on the up and up. Inexpensive. If in Tucson, I can recommend my guy Ultimately at the end of the day, filing is easy and can be done without laywers or mediation, but better to be safe than sorry. This is #2 for me and I learned the lesson from #1 by not using a lawyer Just my 2 cen… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/11/25 01:34 AM
Number 2 up in flamesKids are adults, 2 haven't talked to me since I married #2 and 3rd, oldest, we're close, but he only really needs me for financial support. We talked and he said no matter where I end up we could always visit | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/11/25 12:14 AM
Number 2 up in flamesYeah. Never again for sure. I look at my older siblings and they struggle with marriage. My younger 3 siblings happy AF single and/or divorced. My baby brother is on #3, SMDH hopefully he learns | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/11/25 06:11 PM
Number 2 up in flamesI will say menopause is a key contributor to her lack of sex drive. But it takes 2 to tango and my mental illness was a huge part. Also as previously mentioned #1 was/has been a huge thorn and was costing us physically and mentally. The joy with #2 was gone. Shit 9 times outta 10 she'd get home from work and we'd eat dinner and watch TV until bedtime. Most fun we had was getting high AF and laughing at stupid shit | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/11/25 06:09 PM
Number 2 up in flamesThanks, that sounds nice. Would love to go to Thailand | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/11/25 04:32 AM
Number 2 up in flamesTwo words Mental Illness Or Bipolar depression | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/11/25 03:48 AM
Number 2 up in flamesYeah she was already there. About a year ago we'd broach the subject, but it felt more like a testing waters thing. And at that point #1 had dragged my ass to court asking for more CS even though that had already ended, and this was something #2 was tired with. Plus my sorry state of mental illness took it's toll on her well being | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/11/25 03:48 AM
Number 2 up in flamesHell no, you all have my permission to hit me over the head with a Louisville slugger if I ever go for #3 🤣 | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/11/25 12:47 AM
Number 2 up in flamesAll adults, self sufficient, mostly and only need me when financially strapped. Otherwise don't have much of a relationship with the 20 and 18 yr. Still with their mother and I've been dead to them for 15 yrs. The 21 yr old and I are closer and currently looking to find a place to rent temporarily near him until I figure out who I am | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/11/25 12:46 AM
Men over 45 after 27 years of marriage I haven't been intimate with my wife for 4 years. Thinking of calling it quits but I am afraid of not finding anyone. How hard is it out there?Definitely agree on the no dating thing for at least 1 to 2 yrs. In-between #1 and #2 I had a two year break. #2 lasted 15 yrs so you will find someone, just be patient. Also make sure to not only trying to save the marriage but make sure you find yourself, that's what I'm starting to figure out. Good luck | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/11/25 12:19 AM
Number 2 up in flamesThanks for all the information, I'll start doing my research and definitely take up on the offer for the DM. I'm a newer account, so I'm basically locked down on the number of messages until my acct matures | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/11/25 12:12 AM
Number 2 up in flamesHowdy. How is Bangkok? Never been | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/11/25 12:06 AM
