I have been having supervised visitation in place by a judge for 2 years. First year and a half of divorce I had normal visits. I have emails from her lawyer to mine stating that the kids have been spending time with Dad ( me) and there have been no issues with the visits before the supervised visits were put in place. It is 💯 weaponizing the children.. I have completed the classes I have gone to therapy I have done what the ask but I have not agreed to pay more child support and have been strug…

Like many are saying, block on social media and everything except what it requires to see ur kids. And leave it that way. Don't give into temptation and try and see what she is up to 8 months down the road. I feel that however long u were with someone let's say 12 years. it will take 6 to completely heal from the relationship ending. I know us guys are "tough" but to completely not give any fucks about a long term relationship ending takes time. Half the time the relationship was going give or t…

I have supervised visitation court ordered. She has lied in court 2 x on the stand and I proved it. Still supervised visitation. I completed everything they asked me to complete. Still supervised visitation. I have never hurt my kids or put them in a dangerous situation. It is completely acceptable in my state it seems to use children as weapons in divorce. The lawyers I used were terrible. I have and will continue to go to court on my own once a year and ask to have the supervision removed. I a…

I would not bring the age gap thing up again. Enjoy it. Have fun. Be exactly you.... guy who has his shit together and takes care of himself. Many women like an older guy. It sounds like a big slice of the good life to me. Congratulations. U deserve it after the bullshit your x put u through..

I would find a way to record his actions.. possibly from a device on ur car or something, inconspicuously. Not like holding a phone like a douchbage letting him know u are recording him. I would walk on the porch every time and record video and audio of his behavior. I would even quietly taunt him in hopes that he did something. The best thing to do would be immediately press charges. Or imagine u have multiple instances of him antagonizing you in front of your kids. If he then pushed you and yo…

It took about 2.5 years for me to get clarity and realize how unhappy I was.. I wish I could tell men out there the secret to make it go faster.. one major thing that helped was making myself do things I didn't really want to do. Like exercise, cleaning up, home maintenance, planning vacation by myself. Just dealing with a newly single life is hard at first. But I got way better at it. Dated a good amount. I found one that is good looking and actually makes money.. that is crazy for me.. I usual…

This was a good read.. just a reminder to me and all my poor me bullshit mentality that my kids are getting it the worst.. I really want a normal relationship with them.. it's hard sometimes for us divorced dads.. I think about the money and lies and everything and I'm filled with rage.. but I am trying to not take myself so seriously.. my kids are what matters.. I have to keep reminding myself that.. I get caught up in the mess of it all and I forget..

I had no idea it was that bad in California. The odds are not in your favor. Extremely frustrating. If you already lost everything this is what I would do. Stop paying support.. all of it. What do you have to lose? Then when she takes you to court for that be ready for the custody. At the least scream legalize fatherhood as they kick you out of there.. I am not a lawyer and have had terrible luck with them but that is what I would do. Planning for the best I would have the spousal and child supp…

I was told they were not allowed to take more than 50% of ur pre tax income for child support and spousal. Hopefully ur spousal is temporary. Finish the DV classes and go back to court to get some form of custody. Or with no history or abuse besides yelling why not object to the ruling and fight it??

I went from making over 100 before taxes to 40 a year. My divorce took forever so I had 2 solid years of taxes showing my income at 40. U need time at the lower income. At least 2 years. It's not a guarantee it will work but it did for me. I want more time with my kids. My previous job did not give me the opportunity to spend time with them. Do not be afraid to appeal a judge's ruling if it does not go in your favor. In my experience the higher up you go the more likely they are to follow the la…

I agree.. my ex is in the top 3 of my least favorite human beings on this earth but I want her to be healthy, happy and financially good.. not at my expense of course.. resentment to the person I have to co-parent with makes life miserable.. this took a while to realize. So anyone out there not ready mentally for this I understand.. no love for my ex.. no hate either.. I wish her the best for my kids happiness..

I am in a similar situation. I have been sober for 11 months. It takes a while but I have learned to look at this situation in a positive light.. nothing would have gotten me sober except for losing her. Join AA. And get a sponsor. It is weird at first but it is very helpful. A lot of it is subtle changes over time. I'm to the point in my sober journey I know my marriage is over.. it was my fault.. my kids dealt with some trauma because of my drinking but I'm not letting it ruin every minute of …

In my first divorce I completely cut contact with her and worked on myself and my career. In a year I found a great woman and life was very good.. 12 years later my first ex-wife died of a drug overdose and had a very miserable life from the time of our divorce until she passed. Living a great life is the best revenge.. now on my second divorce this time all my fault I did exactly what this guy is telling you not to do. I was drinking too much and feeling sorry for myself. I am now back on the r…

You have to get out and basically start over... Start meeting people... I'm in a city I didn't grow up in.. all of my friends live in other states or I lost them like you from being married with kids... I have a dog I walk almost every day... I do yoga... I stay very busy... I'm alone often but not bored.... Work, dog, yoga, keeping up with the house... I always have something productive to do... I'm getting my support calculated in 20 days by a judge .. I have been paying child support for over 2 years without an order... I did the math and it seems I over paid by about 12,000$. Any tips on navigating this or just tips in general for a guy getting a divorce and dealing with child support... She has full custody... She refuses to work full time but I have tax returns when she did work full time making double what she is now... And congratulations...

Divorce can really mess up a guy's head... It takes its toll... My confidence was lacking... 2 years later I am doing a lot better... I liked Ciales a lot more than Viagra... I'm 45... It sounds crazy but I stopped having sex and masturbating for about 3 months a while back.. That's when my problems started... Use it or lose it.. that's how I look at it now... That seems insane.. my state has a child support calculator online... with basic math skills it can be figured out. Even with her having full custody and your incomes being so close I think you are overpaying... 50/50 you should be paying 600 a month at most.. I would fight it until it is right.. don't agree to it

I remember being a little kid. Something's I remember vividly as a child. Sadly I often can't remember what I had for breakfast now that I'm 45. I was a Mama's boy. I always wanted to be around my mom until I was 13. Most boys really love and need their mom over there dad in the beginning.. I have a daughter who is the opposite. She wants to be around me, her dad all the time. It's a thing. Don't get upset.. It should not always be like that.. I will get my kids from the X and my son will 50/50 …

In Louisiana u should get half of principle payments from the time of marriage to the time of filing for divorce.. u should be paid half of the money you paid on the mortgage throughout the marriage. You will need to show you made payment on the house. Even if she owned it but u paid the mortgage you should get half. I'm in a reverse situation and about to pay 18,000$ to her from the house I owned before marriage.. she never helped but we were married... Not sure if Texas is the same..

I'm doing decent in dating since divorce.. I might be crazy but it's the smell of them. My X smelled good... Like naturally... She was vegetarian... Maybe that has something to do with it... But I will lose interest in a woman based on her scent... These ladies are not stinky by any means but I keep thinking about my X and how she smelled.. besides that I can't stand the bitch... Screw the apps. They suck.. I'm also caught off guard when being what I believe is hit on by attractive women... I say just go for it every time if you find her attractive... I need to take my own advice and do this.. in a non creepy or aggressive way let her know you are interested... I wish I could give advice on how to exactly do that... Women 95% won't let go of one cock until they have grabbed another one. Like a monkey swinging from the branches of trees. She had this guy before you were even divorced. It is painful. Extreme mental anguish. Here is what I have experienced. It's about playing the long game. Get yourself the best you can. Everything you have read. Get In shape. I love canned pineapple it's amazing. I wasn't allowed to see my now 6 year old daughter on her birthday yesterday cause of my STBXW and her BS. Like these guys are saying. Fuck dating apps. Pure garbage. Try to remember the guy you were before marriage. Get back into doing the things you like and find new stuff you're into and meet like minded individuals. Some will be female of course. Get used to talking to new people. Don't be in a rush. Get ur head right so u know what you want and don't just settle cause you are lonely. Depending on ur state u might want to wait to date. That rhymes. Mic drop.

I told my son pretty much these exact words. It's going to get better. This is the way it is now. Please try to behave. We are going to do fun stuff together without your mom. I'm sorry I can't be with you all the time. Mine is 8. Yours being younger this might not be enough. It's painful for everyone involved. Confusing for kids. But sadly it's the reality of the situation. I didn't know what else to tell him that would help. I think it helped him.

The worst part is she has been using the kids as weapons. I have not spent time with them in 6 months. It's all for financial gain on her part. We all pay for our sins one way or another. She will have to answer for this in time. I was angry now I'm just sad that she has become this person.

Almost 2 years into a difficult divorce. It's been a nightmare. I get into a good spot mentally and get a new document from my lawyer about her dragging my name through the mud. I have been working out and skipping on the booze. I'm in the best shape of my life at 44. I'm sitting in a metal bar right now waiting for the bands to start. I forgot who I was when I was with her. Prove to the courts you are not drinking with PETh test every 3 to 4 weeks. Go to AA meetings and pay ur contribution with venmo. Get back in ur house now. But be careful like a lot of guys said she could try and falsely accuse you of anything to make things harder for you. Hopefully catch her doing some dumb shit. Be careful. Ur rehab with a good lawyer can be spun in a decent light. It would be better not to have but u are getting yourself better. Prove you are staying that way.

Women I'm not taking seriously, I will go days without communicating with and not get together with them often. I can take it or leave it. Spending time and energy with them is not a top priority. I go into the situation to see where it goes and if stronger feelings develop. But in my experience the feelings are there right away or they are not going to be. Once it seems that they are getting upset by my distance I will politely tell them it's not going anywhere and the chemistry is not there. I…

U are correct. Could not be said any better. Some I actually do not care much to see where the relationship goes and those are the ones that get crazy for me. The ones I'm seriously interested in I have to play it cool or they get scared off. Kinda silly it's like this. But it is. You should block her immediately. Don't do this to yourself. The fact you even know that you are unblocked after 8 months is troubling. U need to let go. It is a hard pill to swallow but 8 months of no contact should have been enough time for you to digest your situation. Who cares what it means. It means don't worry about her it's over. Work on you.

Are you already divorced? If the answer is yes why waste your money? If you had kids under 12 and we're still in the divorce process I would do it. But in your situation with adult boys and what I assume is at least a 3 year divorce or separation, why do you feel the need? Is your x a crazy drug user who you are worried about having a criminal with her and your boys? I would not waste my money if I was in your situation.

Mine ended up with a pool guy. Luckily it wasn't my pool guy. I clean my own pool. At first I was pissed. Pissed is an understatement. Be strong for your kids. Watch what you say. You're being honest and vulnerable. That is good. You have to let it out and process it. That is healthy. Divorce is a nightmare. I'm 1.5 years in. It comes in waves. I'm tough I got this/next minute I'm sad. Depression is thinking the sadness will never end. It will. I truly believe it will. It will get better. I've been divorced before and it's a distant memory. I'm putting faith in a higher power that she will be safe because I know she cares about them. It's the best option I can think of. I cannot tell u what is best for you. Pure honesty even if some of it is hard to do is the best bet. Being sober and making good choices makes it much easier. I recently found pills and opened alcohol containers and receipts of alcohol in a vehicle she was driving with my children. So it's kinda a slam dunk she is going to be tested. I will also be tested but I'm already doing it with 4 months of proof. I, like you don't want to try to take the kids away from her. I couldn't handle full custody and overall she is a good mother. But …

I'm 1.5 years into a hostile divorce. 2 kids under 10. Most guys I talk to who didn't fight for what they wanted with kids regret it. I'm not capable of 50/50 because of my job. I want 30/70, she wants sole custody and me every other weekend and limited holidays... So I'm fighting it... Her and I both struggled with alcohol at some point. So I'm getting monthly blood tests for alcohol to prove I am sober. This is my choice not court ordered. My suggestion to you is if you are worried she is usin…

I'm going through the process of divorce. 3 year marriage 2 kids under 10. Every situation is different. Every state is kinda different. I will end up giving her half the payments on the house for the 3 years in cash. Half the gains in my retirement. The better vehicle. Spouse support for 1.5 years. Probably 500 or so a month and child support around 1250.. she is being a biatch with custody and using it as a way to get more money. It's not fun. But you and I will get through it. Stay calm. It's…

The only way I know is to look up under your vehicle. Apple air pod tracker things give a person with an apple phone a warning... But other tracking devices can be easily bought and do not give a warning... They are usually magnetic... Look all up in the wheel wells anywhere u could hide something the size of a deck of cards... Some trackers are bigger some smaller... Most likely a STBXW put it on so it won't be extremely hard to find. Think somewhere easy and quick and hidden and most likely me…

Extremely difficult... I use prayer... I'm new to it... God(or someone bigger than myself) help me keep any negativity coming out of my mouth... U need something powerful to control it... Practice it... It gets easier... I also think my kids were little bouncing souls that wanted me and my STBXW to make them a body to run around in... I did my job... Your welcome kids... No good deed goes unpunished... Sense of humor helps... Believe and you will achieve...

We are in a very similar situation...you and I. In some ways... It's 1000% over... She is pure evil now... Not realizing this will destroy you.... I am working out everyday and getting out in my city meeting new women... Going speed dating tonight... This helps getting her outa my head... Some times memories pop in and I can't shake a sad feeling for days but I work my way out of it... I go to hot yoga in a couple hours... Lots of women... Am I talking and banging them all.... No... But I'm out …

My daughter enjoys being with me for days and days but my son misses his mom the very first night.. kids are kids and they are all different... Just be a fun loving dad and I think as she grows older she will be more into hanging with you... I build the blanket fort things with her.. bought a kit to make a house type frame.... We walk to restaurants just to get fries or something... She is 5... I think at 2.5 like yours she needed her mom more... Give it time... Don't get discouraged... French f…

I strongly advise you to get a new one... It's very bad when they are too busy for you and do not communicate... Very disrespectful as well.. I recently switched mine and wish I did it sooner... If I'm paying someone to help me through a tuff time and it takes them longer than 8 business days to respond or call me back... They don't care... They do not have ur best interests at heart... My advice.. my new one response time immediately or within a day .. my old one a month or longer...

Be strong my man. We have to fight for our kids.. I don't want to... You don't... They make us... They use them as weapons... As a way to hurt us emotionally and financially... It's beyond low... I'm fighting for mine... Have not seen them in 4 months yet they are 12 minutes away... She has painted a terrible picture of me to the courts and until things are settled I am afraid to go near her with the possibility of her making up more lies... It's all through the courts now... Zero communication.…

A long list... Ultimately the fighting was really bad... Screaming in front of kids... She had already moved out... And she admitted to recording me and doing all kinds of stuff that was shady... I knew we were done... Plus her mom moved in with her.. so the mom was pulling her puppet strings... I knew it was 1000% over... Plus her nipples got hairy... I'm telling everyone... Ahahahaha... I'm mid 40ish... recently almost divorced.... The hotter 29 to 40 year old ladies I'm looking for all have Instagram... It's a thing... It's weird if you don't... I hate it... But I'm giving in... Travel more... Since I don't have to pay for her, I can do more traveling.... Also I am more athletic and sporty than she is so I'm not afraid to walk or hike a bit or hop on a motorcycle... Nobody slows me down doing more active vacations... She is definitely slowing me down financially but I make up for it by doing things on the cheap.... Central and South America... At times I get lonely even on these vacations but it's usually short lived...

It is a really hard thing to process. I have a similar situation but we have been separated for 1.5 years. What she does that you think is right or wrong doesn't matter anymore. Of course make sure your daughter is safe but you can't waste your energy worrying about your STBX anymore. Divorce has started... Deal with it properly... Don't text or email anything... Get a good lawyer and do a ton of research on finding a good one... I'm on my second one... lots of people disagree but I am going wit…
