And you've been reported, enjoy.

That's not merely all you did. You insulted people, and you diminished a valid argument due to being pedantic. You come across as arrogant, self-righteous and un-self aware... and unwilling to own accountability for your actions. If you don't have materiality to contribute, please don't. This is the identical argument that women have of men who do not contribute meaningfully to TwoXChromosomes. So that also makes you a hypocrite. You are doing a disservice to your gender, and gender relations.

Waiting for the flip-side argument - "why did she feel the need to do this, it must be because he drove her to it, and she felt trapped, this was the only way out".

You're correct. Your point distracts from the content - which is, evidently it's societally ok to routinely mutilate baby male genitalia. *and then you had to go and be self-righteous and insult people. Class act.

This person sounds like a complete sociopath. This isn't an exclusively female issue... BUT how you experienced her narcissistic emotional abuse is a very common female manifestation of anti-social behaviour. Male sociopaths just tend to beat the shit out of people, not destroy them. I'm sorry for what you've gone through.

Well yes, but not in a positive sense. Her BS demanded a lot of maintenance. I was far more self reliant and quiet, and as such, didn't require as much oversight.

I grew up in a family where "girls can do no wrong" wasn't preached, but definitely implied and reinforced by my mom. All of this despite one of my sisters being an abusive borderline narcissist to my parents. Women are soft, and therefore can do no harm. Very old school mentality. What's interesting is that the message seems to be turning into "Women are strong, and therefore can do no harm?". WTF?

I think it will be / is difficult for the people who post here, and many others, to admit to this. You don't have to share your story, you can just vote this comment up.

I'd argue that they know believe the male swing-vote is strategically more effort to get off-brand, and likely less of a guarantee for that effort higher risk and lower reward. This is about cost / benefit, and they've decided that undecided or unmotivated female voters are more likely to help the Democratic candidate. My take... is that men, in this case, aren't being maliciously excluded from the policy platform. Rather, men are deprioritized in the platform due to the perception (right or wro…

"work on yourself" as a blanket comment toward all men is reductive and insulting. It's used by the "alpha male" influencer crowd to generate views and sell product, make men feel bad about themselves, and manipulate. IMO, everyone needs to work on themselves, this is a universal truth. Society will not change until people walk away from the current societal (and idiotic) divisive status quo. Work on self awareness, self sufficiency, physical health, mental health, education, careers, goals, etc…

"Hang in there buddy" and "that's rough buddy" are two entirely different things. One is empathizing with context, the other is completely dismissive.

This person: Double standards for genders suck! Also this person: I like double standards for genders when they align with my beliefs. Me: Like, that's exactly what a double standard is.

Gender "politics", like any other politics in the west have become divisive, toxic, populist and black and white. People have been taught to see gender interaction as WAR. We're not taught about mutual respect for humanity.

It's a double standard for sure, and a hold-over from the old general perception that women cannot be sexual predators. Is this still considered rape? Are the charges the same as if the perp was a man?

This just sounds like someone who is bitter that she has to serve, when previously, she did not. It's a bitter pill to swallow - no doubt. Turning it into a sexist debate is silly, and a distraction. There are both pros and cons to attaining equality, this happens to be one of the cons for women. I mean really, who the hell wants to be forced into the military? It's probably pretty universal.

The historical presupposition that in a physical spat between a woman and a man, women are the physically weaker of the two, and therefore automatically the victim. It's an accepted generalization, that has, nothing to do with the reality of your situation. I would argue that she's used to getting away with the double standard BS, and hence felt emboldened to assault you without repercussion. Suggest, next time, don't get mad, get security. Further escalating violence will not end well.

True. Look at Trudeau, calling himself a feminist only to advance his own personal agenda and ambitions. A decent guy who values women doesn't need to give it a name... just be a normal human and treat people with respect, including yourself.
