I agree that sleeping with women is a different skill than dating them and getting along long term. I think she's coming from the idea that some guys might just be nervous to talk to women at all.

Sometimes men pretend to be nice to get things from women too. It's not projection, it's experience.
/r/seduction04/07/22 12:07 AM

It can be about both things. This is how women feel when men are fake nice to get in their pants. His point still stands. People can tell when you're being fake and you won't get laid if women can smell it. The other things they smell when someone is being nice is "desperate" and "manipulative".

Well things can be more important than video games but also non-essential. But yea, I agree that everyone needs down time. My partner plays for like 30-40 minutes a day and I think thats cool. If he played 3-4 hours, I probably wouldn't stay with him.

I bet you anything that they were just looking at pictures in that research. Guys can go from a 4 in a photo to an 8 if he makes good eye contact, has approachable body language, has a nice smile, and smells nice. I met my boyfriend on a dating site and decided to give him a chance, even though he was kinda weird looking. This absolute hunk of a guy waiting for me at the cafe. A photo to a real person is a night and day difference. I think it's normal for women to care way more about smell and b…

Online dating is the fucking worst. The dating world became impossible for the average person once people decided it was creepy to meet in real life. OkCupid used to be good! People would really care about and spend time on the writing in their bio. Tinder is level 9.5 difficulty to find someone good.

It's a shit test. They're weeding out the "good ones". I think the goal of most red pillers is to get a wife with the lowest libido possible. That way he can be unsatisfied and keep his bitter world view unquestioned.

Easy peasy. And I don't know why. I am way less attractive and charismatic than some of my single friends. Probably just being brutally authentic and accepting of weirdos. It makes it easy to find each other.

Is this true for men older that 25? I'm 30 and I think the ratio for men and women who struggle with dating is pretty similar out of people I know.

I'm an elementary school teacher so I see any demographic being left behind by the school system to be a bad thing. I don't think it really matters if women are out earning or men are out earning. Best would be if people could choose whatever profession they want and then be judged on merit. I think we're getting closer to that. There will be different gender representation in different fields, and that's good if it was freely chosen.

I feel like it's a waste of time. It can suck up hours. It's no problem if you have nothing better to do, but, as an adult, when do you ever really have nothing to do?

My partner just talks to me if I do something he doesn't like. Since our adult partnership is built on mutual respect, there is no need to punish or coerce each other. We just try to understand the other's perspective and problem solve to find ways of being together that meet both of our needs. I'm not sure why you're talking about marriage anyways..

I think the logic is that he's not paying her bills, he's paying his child's bills. I do think that a right to body autonomy trumps right to property, aka it's more OK for the government to give you a fine than to whip you, for example. Children are expensive. And it would be very rare to have anyone able to take care of a child full time and work enough to be able to afford them. I personally think the solution should probably be expanded government supports. The argument for choice is partly a…

I mostly think you're right, but I have heard a counter argument that has me stumped.. An argument to why a man can't decide not to consent to parenthood, is he might say "if you don't get the abortion, I will leave you and not pay a cent." If the woman didn't want to get the abortion, he'd be finacially abusing her to force her to get it agaisnt her will. Forcing someone to get an abortion is just as immoral as forcing someone to give birth.

I do rock climbing, lift weights, do yoga each week (3-5 hours total) and walk about 45min every day. I'm in the overweight BMI because I suck at portion control. My partner and I are both happy with how I look, so I choose to prioritize other things above calorie counting. I feel like as long as I can still do those 10km hikes with my camping backpack no problem, and my doctor isn't worried, it's not the biggest deal.

Important advice: you have to be OK with being rejected. The stereotype of all men are desperate and will take anyone is not true. Great people have options and someone you deserve will eventually pick you, but the first guy you ask out probably won't. I'm a woman who approached (not any more, I got one long term now) and I have had a lot of success approaching. It is 100% worth while. I don't just care about "marriage", I care about trust. You blatantly stated that you think people who like hook ups will continue to like hook ups. That's you. Who cares if you want to stay married or not if you're cheating the whole time? I had hook ups to find out what I like sexually and to find someone I'm compatible with sexually. You're the one who likes hook ups because you like hook ups. That's obvious because you said "what other reason is there?". I have an equal partner. We both cont…

This question doesn't arise in women for obvious reassons: if a man puts a ring in it, he's all in. I do not think that is the least bit obvious or true. Men leave their wifes for other women, men cheat. Every single question or assumption you made about a promiscuous women you could 100% make about a promiscuous man. In many cultures it's actually way more likely for the man to take the monogamy in the marriage less seriously. It's not like a science you know, but on the other hand it's not roc…

I get the low N-count fetish. I've been with virgins and been guys "first" for different experiences. It does feel exciting. It's like my partners muscles. I'd still be with him if he wasn't so strong. I don't respect him because of his muscles, but they are a little bonus that make him a bit more sexy and those little things add up! My partner specifically told me he doesn't date women with low N-counts. My point was never "no man cares about N-count". My point is "there are enough men that don…

I'd say it's probably about as personal as if I'm currently on my period. Like, sexual partners can know if they care, but not telling everyone who asks doesn't mean I'm scared, it could mean a million things. You need my sexual history like you need to know if I dye my hair or what I ate for dinner yesterday. But because you want to know so bad, my period is coming next week, I dyed my hair two years ago so it's partly grown out now, I had a stir-fry, and I don't know how many people I've slept…

My town is wealthy and my community is middle class. Middle class is wealthier than working class. I was comparing middle class and working class. I also think "wealthy" is a a judgement term. and you think i see the truth in men? I would never claim to know the experience of a group I'm nor a part of. My point was that my community was more wealthy than my partner's. In my experience, the longer a family has had money the less they need to spend and show off. Having a more expensive car doesn't mean you have more money. It could easily mean you just suck with money. The people I know with fancy cars and brand name cloths live paycheck to paycheck. 2

What I'm saying is, if you are making claims about a group but most people in that group say you're wrong, either they're lying or you're wrong. I think it's much more likely that a small group of men of the internet are wrong than the majority of women are all lying to themselves about their own lived experiences. If most women think they don't conform to who you think most women are, chances are you wrong. The fact what I said isn't unique means it's more likely that there are more exceptions …

Any ideology based on "any evidence against what I believe is because that person is lying" can't be disproven. You're ideology is based on the belief that everyone else is ignorant and lying to themselves. The arrogance of thinking you know me, a stranger, better than I know myself is kind of mind blowing. It's honestly a little embarassing to see people so stubborn that they're afraid to even hear and try to understand someone else's point of view.

I love how your comment shows what I like and dislike about RP. Pros: abundance mentality, self improvement, accountability, self respect Cons: you believe in "truths of female nature". Like averages and trends mean you can make assumptions about individuals. This is not how people work and it's not how math works. Most RP "truths" either don't apply to me, or they also apply to most men.

So red pill is a trauma response from having a difficult life? And people who have had harder lives often cling to beliefs that self sabotage. Like my partner grew up in a working class company town and people all cared about name brands and fancy cars. I grew up in a wealthy colledge/government town and all my friends show at thrift stores and have second hand cars. If you have fear and scarcity you are more likely going to try to hold onto illogical beliefs that you think will keep you safe.

I've never had someone comment on my appearance in a public open way. Just because you haven't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. If there are these pressures, they will be enforced through one on one discussions. Furthermore, a rare comment can stick out a lot. There are also differences in how you're treated that wouldn't be noticed from the outside. I have experienced this and so have my friends. It would be better for men and women if women didn't feel pressured to wear makeup. There are massive industries that profit off of women's insecurities about their appearances. Is "feminist" a typo or does that word mean nothing now? Hypergamy purs women above men which is clearly toxic and does push for parity. TRP sees it everywhere though, so I have no idea if any terms used in this post have agreed upon definitions.

You only need to be attractive to one woman to find a good relationship. I say it's better to be unattractive to 98% but end up in an authentic relationship than to be attractive to 98% and have to be fake in your relationship. My partner didn't own bed sheets or clothes without holes in them when we first met. For most women, that would be a turn off. I didn't care. He wasn't trying to attract most women. He was trying to find someone who didn't worry about his imperfections.

I had so many times where I offered to split and the guy wouldn't let me. It's honestly not worth the argument to pay my half. Do you want to just have sex, or find an actual partner you enjoy spending time with? For the former: joke, smile, ask her about herself, and then ask her out. If you're in person, make small movements like touching your arms together if you show her something on your phone and pay attention to if she stiffens up or moves away, or moves closer. Lol, I think you're getting "a shred of self respect" confused with "crippling insecurity". Noticing that someone isn't celebrity hot is not the same as saying you're not attracted to them. it’s likely not going to stop him from thinking that maybe the reason that she did it with past guy and not with him is because past guy was more attractive than him. I want healthy sex. There is no part of me, even for a second, that would want to trade what I have for a one night stand. It would be like trading a 5 star chef who knows what I like for McDonald's. Sex with a loving partner is 100% better than crazy hook ups.

True. Different standards or expectations for himself and her is a better way to say it. If I had only slept with two people, I would still not date anyone with that standard. It shows they have old fashioned views on gender roles that they might try to push on me in other contexts too. To me that would be a self filter. If he said "I don't want to date you because you've had sex with more than 2 people" I'd be happy that let me know we had incompatible values right off the bat. It's important t…

I feel skeptical that there are many people with self respect that would be ok with double standards. For me personally, part of self respect is not living with people who see me as "lesser than". Like, if I need to follow some rule that they don't, it shows a lack of respect, and trust. I can't imagine a healthy relationship being built from that. Just my preference though. I do understand that others see things differently.

I've dated a few guys who have hired sex workers. I never had any problem with it at all. There were two factors that helped me feel comfortable though. First, they were chill about it when they told me. None told me in the first couple dates. We are specifically talking about casual sex though. That's fair. I have no idea how much casual sex he has. But since you brought it up, how is your brother not attractive, but is also attractive? That's just not how it feels for women. For women, feeling and being sexy is separate from wanting to be desired. Sexy is just a look and a feeling. It's separate from how others see you. It doesn't make any sense any other way. Doesn't make sense to you, because you don't get it. You aren't a woman. If you don't listen or try to understand there is no way for you to understand what it means to feel sexy for a woman. My whole point from the start has been it's a concept that's hard for men to un…

I think that it's easy enough to get. You'd think so. But what you say indicates you don't understand. I'm talking about the inner thinking and feeling of women. You can't figure out what women are thinking with pure, disconnected logic. The only way to know what someone is thinking is to ask them. Feeling sexy, to many women, is completely disconnected from having sex. If you can't understand that, you're missing something in your thinking. I have no idea what that is. She's clearly saying there are other reasons to want to look sexy, but men wouldn't get it. Many women equate sexy with beautiful. How attractive you are has a strong relationship to how people see you and treat you. Women are subconsciously conditioned to equate their looks with their value as a person. "Being sexy is good" might be as deep as the thought goes. She likes how she looks in the mirror and that makes her happy. The thought "a man might want to have sex with me" probably never cross…

"He's bad in bed" very often means "he can't read my body language". I think that's where the disconnect is. Women (including me tbf) have a hard time understanding how non-verbal cues can be that confusing. Maybe women, on average, have an easier time continuously assessing how the other person is doing, so it's hard to understand why it's not intuitive for many men? Also, I have friends that have explicitly told partners what they need, and they were ignored. I doubt most men would do that, bu…

I was thinking about the nagging about stuff that is his business like "I hate when you wear that shirt". And, while I agree the passive man child is incredibly toxic, it's immature and narsicistic to blame abusive behaviors on your partner. It's your responsibility to choose a partner who brings out the best in you. Reminding someone to clean up is a normal part of living with someone, but if their inaction is making you want to escalate to yelling or name calling or degrading, it's time to jus…

I was honestly just pointing to common examples of where you could see words changing meaning over time. Words change meaning and new words replace old quite frequently. People in different cultures can mean different things with the same words. If you haven't traveled or read books from different time periods I could totally see why you wouldn't know that. Calling people names and insulting them is against the rules. Asking people if they have had certain experiences in order to understand why …

I can't help that you don't know how language work. I've tried explaining it to you very simply. So in your definition a woman who madterbates with a dilkdo or uses a tampon isn't a virgin?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/21 09:20 PM
1

The word virgin comes via Old French virgine from the root form of Latin virgo, genitive virginis, meaning literally "maiden" or "virgin"—a sexually intact young woman or "sexually inexperienced woman". That's the historical meaning. Do you believe that men can be virgins? have you changed the definition from its original meaning? No they don’t. Words are words. It’s that simple. Wait.. You don't think words change how they're used over time? Have you literally never read a book written before 1…

I guess the thing that you might not be aware of is that words always change and different groups of people have always used words differently. I definitely did not make up the definition I'm defending. All these definitions exist and are used very commonly (whether or not you've come across it in your life, I promise this is true). I'm choosing a common logical definition that is already established to defend.

Ok, well historically virginity means "a girl's hymen has been broken" now I think most people use it to means "person has had sex". I think the overlap is "does this person confirm to society's expectations of sexual purity. I just can't agree to a definition of virginity that says someone who's had anal and oral sex with a dozen people is a virgin. Anal sex, oral sex, vaginal sex= all sex. A race car is still a car, even though it has "race" there too. It describes the type of car, it doesn't …

My argument is that virginity is a social construct so the definition is literally just how people use it. Society constructs the definition by using it. So if enough people agreed that making out counted as sex, it would be.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/21 12:40 AM

I definitely count 69 as sex. If a penis never enters a vagina but two people make each other orgasm, it counts as sex by my definition. Like, if my friend asked my if I had sex recently and I had done 69, I would say yes.

Dan Savage described virginity as a deck of cards instead of a single token. I think it's a way more accurate description and means more than just PiV virginity. The fact that many gay men and lesbians are "virgins" by straight cultural standards is hilarious. I find the "only PiV counts" idea to be a pretty immature understanding of sex, personally.

Seems like men and women are both single because "they're being passed over because the other gender's standards are too high". Maybe women don't care about money as much as you think they do?

This is so true. Guys are all desperately fighting over the women who stand out. Plain women get passed over all the time. Women who get more attention will naturally develop higher standards because they have more choices. There was a post a while back asking average or unattractive women if they ever got hit on or had an easy time dating, they all said it was rare. Loneliness effects women too.

I don't think it's rare or weird to masterbate to your partner at all! Especially if you have a great sex life. There are many men who vastly prefer their own partner to fantasy women. Demisexual is the term for people who are only attracted to people they're romantically involved with. I think it's rare but they exist.

Sexual compatibility is a huge factor for me when I'm choosing a forever partner, so I have sex in the second or third date usually. This seems the same as guys who seek out women with big breasts. Small boobs aren't a deal breaker, but boob size will be considered. Being tall is just an attractive characteristic. I think most women like to feel small, pretty and delicate around their guy. When you give your guy a hug and your cheek presses into the middle of his chest, it feels so warm and cozy. I don't think most feminists talk about the patriarchy in order to hate on men. I think they use it to separate individual men from the social context. The patriarchy isn't men, it's sexist ideas and traditions that run deep in our culture. So strange, because I don't think I have any friends in the top 20% of looks, and none of the men I know seem to struggle that much. Finding their looksmatch and asking them out seems to work most of the time.

My experience is definitely different, but I'm a woman who is mostly attracted to nerds. I'm definitely abnormal in that being humble is extremely important to me.. That being said, when I have hit it off with a really confident player, he's always turned out to be a genius in some way. I've met a few really smart guys (usually engineers) who are also really emotionally intelligent. (One guy breezed through an engineering degree with good grades. Well, tbf, you do kinda prove your own point. You seem to have some issues from your experience, so I can't say that'd never happen to a woman either. Maturity isn't gained from having sex. It's gained from have relationships and learning from new people. This doesn't work, however, if you choose not to work on yourself along the way.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/20 12:41 PM
12

That's hilariously false. Young women are way more insecure. It's not even a question. Being in multiple relationships teaches you how to properly treat a partner. It's called maturity. You're experience with experienced women having faults doesn't prove young women don't have faults. I guess the rule does apply to you though. You seem pretty jaded from your experience.. maybe it is the case for some women too.

Lol, the idea the young women have ewer triggers and insecurities is pretty funny, actually. "Every woman I've dated has had emotions. You know what all these women had in common? They were people!?"

Wow, the guys I'm dating don't have that problem. My main guy likes using condoms because they help him last longer. Also, I rarely date guys who act like penis in vagina is the end all be all of sex. There are so many fun and pleasurable things to do in that can't lead to pregnancy. I'm sorry that you lack so much sensitivity though. Your "condoms ruin everything" idea seems kind of sad to me actually. It's not a problem the guys I see have. Bad sex can be extreme physically and emotionally uncomfortable, or it can be just flat out frustrating. And guys who aren't eager to wear protection just blow my mind. Like, "You know my body count. I've learned a few things. First, I've learned the importance of very clear and straightforward communication. I say what my rules are for safe sex. We discuss what we like and what we're not into. I'm very open with my feelings and hearing theirs. Having sex is a very vulnerable experience, and asking big blunt questions is a good way to quickly find out if the guys I'm with if safe. I'm confused about one part.. you said men gatekeep commitment but also women don't mind men who have a high likelyhood of cheating? /r/PurplePillDebate15/04/20 07:07 PM

It really depends where you live and the cultural expectations of your area. That being said, in my experience, women need long term security, they dont need to be spoiled in the early parts of dating. Women who don't demand anything from you except loyalty at the beginning, often end up being the "death til you part" types long term.

How are you supposed to have a house and kids without someone to share the work and finances? That seems extremely unrealistic for me personally. /r/PurplePillDebate05/04/20 11:35 PM

I'm sure most men would also change how they look if they could tell people were repulsed by them. That's not evidence women are an underclass. No human likes to be insulted.

Am female feminist: The fact you get to live the life you want without the pressure of living up to your gender role of "provider", is great. This IS a goal of feminism and I'm happy you're living your best life! Women can find their own security. They shouldn't have to rely on a man to provide them with anything.

I totally didn't understand what hypergamous meant. I always assumed it was an insult because it was usually used in a "women always date up"/"women's standards are unfair/unrealistic" way, but that article just says "women look for partners who show signs of being a good husband and father". It says men only care about appearance but women care about personality. Damn, that's pretty sad that a man would rather have someone that looks nice then someone who's nice to him. Hypergamy applies to more than just status. Oh, maybe I don't fully understand hypergamy then. Is there anything else that women care about that men don't care about?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/20 04:38 PM
5

But I live in a college town. I many of the women I know have partners with less education/less earning potential/worse jobs then them. My mom had a higher status job than my dad. I've always had higher status jobs than my partners (I'm a straight woman). Because it's a multigenerational pattern here (that women date for personality and compatibility not money or security) it's really common that that's how women act. These bubbles prove that hypergamy is at least sometimes socially conditioned …

Men have much better luck in polyamorous communities because women haven't been slutshamed into default rejection mode.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/19 04:17 PM
8

Haha, actually we usually go to the orgies together. And honestly, there are a bunch of queer people in my polyam community, so normal gender trends don't really hold as well. But you're right, there is a bit of the typical "men struggle to get quantity and women struggle to get quality" thing that always happens.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/19 04:04 PM
5

In my experience, couples often go into polyamory together. They are committed to each other romantically, and don't want to break up. They just want to try something new. They also don't feel possessive and jealous over their partner. Personally, I feel comfortable with my partner dating other people because I trust his commitment to me to always come back.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/19 03:24 PM

I'm polyamorous and very interested in people's answers. I guess I think the people who are out about it are going to be more likely to be people who already dont worry about fitting into social norms. But I also don't think my polyam friends are any less attractive than my monogamous friends.

That study was literally just using pictures. There are a ton of women who are sexually aroused by chemistry and emotional connection. Like if two guys have the same personality she'll choose the fit guy, but what your torso looks like is not that big a deal to 99% of women.

It's all supply and demand. If she gets 100 messages and she only wants to reply to 10, how else should she pick which ones to reply to? It's impossible to hold a good conversation with every "hey" she gets. If she's not getting as many matches (her pics are awful) and she still wants to get laid, she'll reply to "hey".
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/19 10:47 PM

Haha, I can only speak for my experience as a woman. It's likely to be the same for men too! My point was, yea, a woman can get laid whenever she wants, but not necessarily with someone she's attracted to.

It's harder for women to orgasm than men, so she just can't have sex with anyone and get off. There's no woman who can get off from 2 minutes of penetration. I'd much prefer to work longer hours if that meant I'd have to do less house work. But I think it's completely unreasonable to expect my partner to clean up after me, even if they aren't working.
