Imagine thinking that personal expenses = business expenses. Only a matter of time until you get fucked over in a tax audit. Yet another validation of my previous posting in here that TRP should stick to what TRP know best: intersexual dynamics. Not hypertrophy programming, not business advice, nor investing or taxation advice. Just ridiculous, there are great subs for all of these - TRP is not one of them.

Delusions of your fantasy sex life aside, how does my comment suck? I pointed out that outside of intersexual dynamics (which include sexual strategy, you fucking dunce) that guys should venture into other subs. Edit: I never disagreed with the importance of lifting weights as a guy - I just pointed out that this sub is ill-informed and are generally, not experts on the gym. But the good news is that there are other subs that specialise in that. Problem?

Well said. Women should always be secondary to your mission. Guys who run here with the foremost goal involving a woman, are doing it wrong.

There is a lot of broscience that gets thrown around here when it comes to physique related pursuits. Rubbish that ranges from "you have to cut out carbs to get ripped" to "volume doesn't matter for building muscle, just throw around heavy weight" TRP is principally concerned with intersexual dynamics, that's really it. Not hypertrophy programming, not nutritional protocols, nor personal finance, investing or other areas of life. If you want to learn deeply about fields outside of intersexual dy…

The truth is it depends how high your SMV is, but generally no - not an ideal tactic.

Yes, it was Stoic. The Stoic response is to realise that it is outside of your control (that being, whatever the man child says to his father) so the only logical response was to ignore / not engage with something outside of your control.

Yeah I get that, doesn’t change what I said though as he’s running more than a replacement dose. TRT should put you around 600 on average, no more than 1,000 though. Measured in ng/dL.

I secured full-time work within my field prior to graduating thanks to networking (including unpaid internships) and trying to create opportunities for myself, but thanks for the welcome to reality... I'm aware that it's pretty common, but the guy came here seeking "what should I do during this graveyard shift" when in reality, if he did some further study (Honours if eligible, maybe a coursework based Masters, some certs or whatever) he can have another window at the intern/grad recruitment sch…

Really? You would 'deck' a gay guy for talking to you or looking at you? Grow up and take it as a compliment like I do, and if/when he talks to you, go out of your way to casually (lie) in reference to a girlfriend.

Did you even read the comment? I’m talking about the maintenance threshold, not the minimum effective dose of volume for making gains. The ranges are something like this: maintenance, minimum effective, maximum adaptive, maximum recoverable. The optimal gains will occur within the minimum effective and maximum adaptive range, typically characterised by volume between 10 to 20 sets per muscle group/movement per week.
/r/askTRP22/12/19 01:02 AM
2

Sounds like you watched Greg D. vs Mike I. debate. 8 sets should be enough to maintain maybe even grow if you’re lifting heavy. Just have to make sure you’re getting your macros in. I skipped through it, was somewhat disappointed with Mike's arrogance which was a let down. Mike has been preaching 8 to 10 sets for MV for a long time now and anecdotally in my experience, it's pretty bang on.
/r/askTRP21/12/19 05:29 PM
13

Aussie here, thank you for your work. Our maintenance volume is actually much lower than our effective volume (for making further gains), as little as 8 sets per muscle group per week should suffice, permitted the sets are relatively hard and somewhat close to failure (no less than 5 reps left in reserve). Time wise, you might be better off running full body routines, primarily of compound lifts.

Net caloric intake matters far more than nutrient timing and partitioning. Eat however many calories you want for breakfast, just aim to disperse your calories for the day across 3 to 5 deals. / Thread

It's worth being specific when throwing around titles like "My Olympia" as only one third of men's bodybuilding is your huge freaky mass monsters. There is classic physique and typically most attractive (out of the three) to women, men's physique seen here.

How new to training are you? I would lower your surplus to somewhere around a 200 to 300 calorie surplus. Weight gain will be slower, but fat mass will be minimised. 500 is a better guideline for cutting. Last thing you want to do is dirty bulk thinking you’re “maximising gains” believe me, muscle protein synthesis does not get incrementally better with additional calories beyond a particular threshold - I learned this the hard way.

Advantageous fuel from carbs is fuel from carbs, it doesn’t somehow become irrelevant for novices who are developing the mechanical skill and initial bouts of strength.

I am not mixing anything, I’m well aware he did not mention sugar not keto. My point is a lot of the fitness related posts in this sub are in praise of keto and propagate carbs as the devil when it comes to body composition. Good logical post free of bro science, that’s all.
/r/TheRedPill08/12/19 04:30 PM

Great post OP, a nice change to see an evidence-based and well thought out approach to fitness and overall body composition. I'm in full agreement with the volume of work and manipulation of intensity (for those unaware, load as a % of 1RM). This post is far better than the arrogant bros thinking that carbs are the devil and keto/carnivore is the secret to getting shredded. Thanks for taking the time.

/r/askTRP04/12/19 07:10 AM

For sure, if someone’s susceptible to spilling over and binging on carbs - keto might be a better option. The issue is that thinking naturally leads to “all I have to do is cut out carbs aaaand magic. Weight loss without a deficit”
/r/askTRP27/11/19 03:39 PM
1

It is possible, the first and foremost factor for success is adherence. If you can adhere to a ketogenic because you find it satiating, then sure - it's fantastic so long as you're in a caloric deficit (if desiring to lose weight). I'm not anti-keto, not at all. I'm anti-bullshit, like "calories don't matter if you cut out carbs" which is 'patently false' as the intellectual a few lines up would have us believe. My digestion was terrible the few times I experimented with high fats. Satiety is a …

Yeah, the insulin response to simple versus complex carbs is certainly different. The overarching truth though is that insulin does not dictate weight gain/loss, but overall caloric intake/expenditure does.
/r/askTRP27/11/19 09:05 AM
2

Okay, now I'm convinced you're just trolling. That or retarded, take your pick. People lose weight on atkins / keto / carnivore / whatever because they're inducing a caloric deficit. The body will not burn fat without a caloric deficit. Period. Yeah fuck some bozo who got a doctorate in studying the metabolism says... Can you tell me where this fat disappears to, if no change on the scales? Let me guess, it converts to muscle, right? Bodybuilders have been doing all sorts of stuff for 40 years. Are you a bodybuilder? Where have you competed, how did you place? Are you an avid researcher who keeps abreast research? Go and look up Dr Layne Norton who is a professional bodybuilder, he has great videos debunking the propagation of carbs being bad for fat loss. What do I look like? I'm 6"3 and 98 kilos (215 pounds…

This is getting laughable. Ketone bodies have everything to do with ketosis. If you're in a caloric surplus, you will gain weight despite elevated ketone bodies in the bloodstream. Calories in, calories out. How do you suggest OP goes from 15% to your apparent 8% without losing weight? Believing in the insulin model of fat loss is one thing, it's another to think you can burn fat without losing any scale weight but go on, amuse me...
/r/askTRP27/11/19 08:26 AM
2

You ignorant fool. Ketones fall under the insulin model of weight loss. I am aware that ketone bodies in the blood are elevated when somebody enters a state of ketosis. Ketosis fits under the umbrella 'insulin model' of weight loss. What do ketone bodies have to do with weight loss?
/r/askTRP27/11/19 08:20 AM
2

Yes, eating sugar does spike insulin - is that what you're alluding to? Insulin itself does not dictate body composition, calories in versus calories out does.
/r/askTRP27/11/19 08:15 AM
1

Carbs are just sugar. If you want lower body fat, don’t eat sugar. This is absurd. Nothing wrong with sugar (from a body composition POV), it's purely calories in versus calories out. Can eat a reasonable amount of sugar, in a caloric deficit and still lose weight.
/r/askTRP27/11/19 08:11 AM

-because of the high concentration of kcals. Care to elaborate? Fats are more than double carbs with respects to caloric density (9 kcal per gram versus 4 kcal per gram). You literally get >2x calories, per gram...

Pretty amateur bodybuilder and prep coach here for both natural and enhanced physique competitors here. ~~ Why are low-carb diets like Keto and carnivore so popular right now? Just the latest fad, veganism is no different. Is there something to eating a low carb diet? Yeah, fat adapted. But this does not mean you burn more body-fat. When calories and protein are controlled for, there's virtually no difference between high carb and low fat versus low carb and high fat. I say this as someone who h…

Deca is very much an 'old school' choice stacked with a test base. Even Parabolin (blend of tren esters) was used back in the day. It was the dosages (and lack of insulin) that contrasts that of today's scene.

A system could be as simple as this: for health & fitness, you track your intake of XX00 calories through MyFitnessPal, lift 4x week running X program and track progress through weighing yourself every morning pre-breakfast but post-bathroom visit. That’s pretty crazy. Ideal though, sounds like very well may be in the top portion of the SMV hierarchy for your course. Wish my courses were that small. What even makes you think that your “dick won’t work”? Just doesn’t make sense, have you never had an erection? I scanned your profile and saw a previous post where you told us you have 22% body-fat. Didn’t you say you’re the fittest guy at your university? How embarrassing. Now that is something I’m an expert in and rest assured, being that overweight can indeed explain a lethargic libido and “dick not working”. It all makes sense to me now, fuckface.

You're avoiding girls within your 'own course' because that is somehow 'more pressure' so you're asking strangers on the internet if you should still contact her (despite being outside of this sacred course of yours)... Still name calling, you seem pretty bitter and immature despite your "fake alpha" facade - how unfortunate for you.

Why are your replies still in reference to this "one girl" you got a number from and girls who may potentially be in her social circle? Get over it, this is just inane. But yeah, I'm the dumbass. You've clearly got it all worked out, being a virgin at 20 and all. Good luck OP.
/r/askTRP05/11/19 05:35 PM

No, I'm saying that I don't want to approach "closer circle" girls when I still don't even know if my dick works. Well, I guess you will never ever know and die a virgin forever wondering.

why try to get a bad experience if you can get a good one? Why not get past the mental block and then approach your own course girls, knowing that your dick is actually gonna work etc? Really? Nobody has an incredible first time, don't worry about it and who gives a shit if she somehow tells her girlfriends about a less than perfect experience. Shouldn't bother you. Couldn’t have said it better myself. At least you realise this looking in, I didn’t back when I was in a similar situation.

Probably because NoFap borders on cult-like behaviour. I'm all for guys getting a 'grip' on their life and replacing PMO if it's an addiction and gets in the way of reality (especially if it interferes with a real sex life) but I can't take 90% of those subs seriously. You'll read all sorts of crap about purported super powers, even that ejaculating "boosts test and growth hormone" and I shit you not, "you lose vital amounts of blood when you ejaculate due to the blood-rush when erect". You can'…

You say you've already identified that she's a soft next, which I'd agree with. I'd continue matching and talking with other girls and only really replying to her if she initiates; or at least takes genuine interest in meeting up. The "wow you must have high standards" thing made me grin, reminds me of a former plate who was massively insecure (HB8+) and ended up behaving like a child down the line. YMMV.

Dude works at a tier-two consulting house and has spare time for side hustles like travel newsletters and the like. Had he worked at McKinsey, BCG or Bain he wouldn't likely have the time for extra stuff like tutoring. What exactly are you asking? He's just a guy enjoying life. If this is the best example of work ethic you could find, it's frankly embarrassing.

Good start. Break it into manageable chunks and go do bit day by day. I can’t imagine that scanning the entire sidebar in a day will allow for much absorption.

I consumed it slowly overtime, made my own notes. Refer to them now and then, but most of it is just internalised now. I can appreciate that it’s a fair bit to digest, especially if you come from super blue-pilled conditioning - but it’s well worth consuming.

An amalgamation of top postings in the official sub, might need to go desktop to view it though.

Lift, cut out shit food. Read the sidebar and most importantly, actually practice implementing and internalising the material that you consume. No point reading for the sake of mental masturbation, get out there and put everything into action.

Sure, but this is during developmental years (not at an age where one peruses this sub, or 'mewing') so it's fairly futile. A good reminder to not do things like breathe through your mouth though.

Aussie here. Why wouldn't it work? I don't really go out and practice approaching and whatever, but the mindset and core beliefs are transferable no matter where you are geographically.

Liking their photos is validating them, sure. But accepting a friend/follow request? How do you figure? What if your profiles are public and it’s auto accepted?

Well, this is frankly embarrassing... What has happened to this sub lately? Edit: For those wondering, it was something aspergic to the effect of "call her the wrong name on purpose to raise your SMV and then brush her off when she inquires"..

Why? If you have social proof which is validated by your social media I don't see an issue in letting them follow you.

Irrespective of whether or not that’s true, OP clearly stipulated a low dose of test. Stop smearing even more egg over your face.

That’s a weird comparison. I’m not imploring that he uses anabolics, it’s unnecessary at 18. But this isn’t the sub to discuss it anyway.

Your testosterone is not clinically low and is unlikely to be the reason behind your symptoms, consider other possibilities.
/r/askTRP27/10/19 09:52 AM

Testosterone is testosterone. Whether you are creating a 'natural' or 'supraphysiological' level is dependent on the dose, not the compound. You said "steroid make people stupid" - testosterone is a steroid, whether it's 100mg for TRT purposes or 1,000mg for cycling purposes. You said "If it would cure depression psychiatrists would use it" - guess what, psychiatrists can and do advocate for testosterone (yes, a steroid) at appropriate dosages for treatment. All you've done is highlight your ign…

500 is on the lower end of average yes, but not enough to diagnose hypogonadism (un)fortunately. I can't imagine you will find a doctor who is prepared to prescribe to you at those levels. So you can remain natural or experiment with cycling - choice is yours really. My last (natural) bloods pegged me at 650.

What a foolish comment. Testosterone does not decrease intelligence and can be either neuroprotective or neurotoxic depending upon the individual environment. Symptoms of anxiety, depression and other psychiatric manifestations are correlated with men dealing with hypogonadism and you will find psychiatrists who believe in testosterone replacement.

Are you certain of your bloods being 500 nanograms per liter, instead of 500 nanograms per deciliter? 500 ng/dL is pretty average, but 500 ng/L is absolutely awful and should qualify you for TRT.

How are tiny balls are 18 any different to tiny balls at 28? Smaller decorations just make the tree look bigger. OP visit the steroids sub, I commented it earlier but it was removed due to linking to an 'unapproved site' lol - you will get plenty of good perspective over there.

Nobody can comment usefully without knowing the specifics of your particular situation. Short answer, no.

Not necessarily, true dark triad traits stem from developmental years during upbringing. If a child is harmed, their brain struggles to develop the capacity for empathy. Psychopathy (one of the three traits) can be both nature and 'nurture' though. IllimitableMen has some incredible writings on dark triad psychology.

Fair enough. It's not that it's not an option - it's just suboptimal in my opinion due to OP's current body fat levels. I started off similarly (skinny fat if you will) and with perfect hindsight, wish I had just consumed around maintenance (if not a dash below) and trained hard.

Ignore most of what you read here. As somebody who’s competed in bodybuilding shows and preps amateur athletes for shows, I’ve been around the block a handful of times. You have excess body fat, so bulking doesn’t make sense. On the other hand, you don’t really have any muscle to ‘cut’ into. So what do you do? Eat around a maintenance level, ensure adequate protein and hit the weights - heavy and hard. You’ll build muscle, get stronger and burn fat, all at the same time. You don’t need to worry …
