When a big RAID stack has to rebuild parity? Replace the drives, start the repair, go home for the day. That's how it works IRL, right?

boys are not "discriminated against," that they're just "less mature" or "less intelligent" or "less valuable" It really isn't that long ago that people were saying this about girls. Short memories all over.

You got any other interests that have groups nearby? I found some friends by LAN gaming and hanging out at a few clubs for amateur astronomy, amateur radio, and airsoft. Also taking courses for data science, web development, and glass blowing. Not sure if they're available in your area but if you have any projects you ever wanted to do someday, you could try a local makerspace or whatever the equivalent is in your area. Maybe see if your local library offers courses for 3D printing or other weir…

This kind of comment is exactly why I find feminists insufferable. Feminists could have the easiest, staunchest allies in the whole world with just two moves: acknowledge men's issues (without the patriarchy scapegoat) and ask for their help promoting reproductive rights for all. Major feminist orgs are a few Twitter posts away from changing the future, but it means eating a little bit of the shit they've been heaping on men for a century so no chance of that.

when you use meaningless but politically charged terms like "transgenderism" How nice when activists out themselves before spewing nonsense.

This is exactly what I mean: it's an honest question with hard-to-swallow pills no matter which direction you take. The fact that such difficult questions are a good way to speedrun your bans is evidence that those who run many communities are not interested in having their views challenged. That's the problem. You end up with people in echo chambers like Tumblr who run themselves in circles until they believe the idea that merely thinking you're trans means you're trans. Transgenderism is one o…

As usual, the "academic"/Twitter interpretation of things takes a long time to trickle down to the rest. This one might be too bitter of a pill though, because some wacky activists are now saying there is no such thing as biological sex. This denial of easily observed and understood fact is the basis for their arguments against transmedicalism, and that's just not going to work for most people.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates17/06/22 07:25 PM

How the actual fuck is arguing that trans people are 100% valid from a scientific, evidence based argument “transphobic” In trans culture, you would be called either "truscum" or a "transmedicalist" depending on who you asked. You're promoting the idea that to be trans, you have to actually be trans, and for the idpol cultists, that's heresy. Try this one out and see how fast you can get banned from other communities: "If gender roles don't matter or exist, why be trans?"

Brigham and Women's Hospital - BioBank Core This ongoing program at Brigham and Women’s hospital is boasting that it collects anywhere from 3 to 10 neonatal foreskins every day and siphons them off to a biobank of human tissue for use in medical applications. Interestingly, the hospital’s circumcision consent form only allows for tissue to be collected for such use, if it was removed for necessary medical reasons, not unnecessary ones. Therefore, parents have not been giving consent for their ch…

Someone beat you to it. See the Grievance Studies Affair. The specific article in question is called "Our Struggle is My Struggle: Solidarity feminism as an intersectional reply to neoliberal and choice feminism", which is essentially a rewrite of some of Hitler's writings. It's worth noting that "Mein Kampf" translates literally into "My Struggle", so the article's name was barely even camouflage.

I think he does it because that's how he's always done it and he doesn't care about the same thing(s) I do. This is really all it is. I often do not put dishes directly in the dishwasher because I prefer to do it in batches which is more efficient. Man I am not even on the spectrum, I just get really focused on what I am doing and women seem to like to hit on me the most when they see me doing things. I usually do not notice until a few minutes after they have left. I had one quite attractive woman come up to me while I was topping a pizza and she said "wow that's a really nice looking pizza" and I said "hell yeah I can't wait to eat this whole thing to my self" and she laughed, then looked at my face, then realized I might be serious. I remember at least one story of a man being forced to give up their sperm despite the contract, and another where a man was made responsible for child support because he donated sperm to a lesbian couple. Women get to choose whether or not they are parents. Men do not. That is what you are saying here, and then expecting us to operate under the conclusion that this is equal. I do not believe it is right to force a woman to carry to term a baby she does not want, but I also do not think it's right to hold a man responsible for a baby he does not want, particularly if he has not indicated any desire to have children. My wife definitely does not wash the dishes as thoroughly as I do. While unlikely, I thought she might be doing it as a form of this "weaponized incompetence". Turns out she was just washing stuff in water that was too oily. When it comes to messy things, it's usually not because they expect you to clean, they just don't care at all. Imagine if you got paid $1/hr more than everyone else and then you were told you would get paid less to bring you in line with your peers. You would obviously be upset about this, and you would fight it because it has a material impact on your life, not because it's equal. In fact "equality" is exactly what your employer would weaponize to justify your reduced pay instead of bringing everyone else up to your level. Come on people you're smarter than this.

In that specific role? Probably not. But women speaking with other women in areas of the world where women are oppressed could actually be very helpful. That said there really is no reason to head back to the sandbox, that was a waste of human lives.

There really is just no good reason to circumcise the overwhelming majority of boys. For those with medical conditions, ask if there are less damaging options like cutting a slit to allow manipulation/expansion rather than complete removal. Worth noting are things like recent studies indicating infant circumcision seems to cause life-long trauma. It really is an awful practice. I know a woman who unironically uses FDS. You would not want to commit to this woman. She would ruin your life. It's important to know that women in general are not like this though. FDS is more-or-less a containment sub, like the incel shit was.

Men only truly dominate STEM in the west. In developing economies like India, the ratio is much more equal in any career known to make money. When women do not have the luxury to choose quality of life over pay, they choose careers more-or-less the same way men do.

No one has ever physically made me have sex, but the verbal and mental abuse received when I would not or could not have sex with a woman was extreme. Sadly I gave in a few times with my exes. Once she lost the ability to use "you should already know!" she would get upset about progressively more trivial things. Accusing people of not doing anything for a given cause is nearly always powered by classism. How many times have you heard that you are privileged and should be helping (INSERT CAUSE HERE) because it's so easy, even while you struggle just to get by? Over in the sex subreddit there was a discussion about blue balls and it was clearly mobbed by feminists saying it wasn't real or minimizing the real pain and experiences some men have. Some women just do not care about men's physical or mental health and have no sense of empathy for us. We are never going to be able to speak rationally with them. When arguing with crazies like this, don't argue for their sake, argue for the spectators. If your opponent looks like a complete nutter but you come …

When I was considering suicide, no small part of my issue was that I was treated like a man in need of reform because I was rightfully angry over what was happening to me. Forget the bullshit I was facing, no I was the problem. Curiously, once removed from the situation, my "anger problem" resolved itself and my health improved.

My gay friend did exactly this way back in the early 2000s when we were playing Runescape. The amount of free shit he got was staggering. I wager he made more money than me pretending to be a girl occasionally than I did playing the game, and I was a teenage no lifer.

Well to be fair to a group that is otherwise illogical, the sex-positive and sex-negative camps tend to be consistent in their positions here. Are there even mammals that don't express dimorphism in their bodies and brains? The animals we evolved from certainly do/did, so how did we suddenly become blank slates when everything around us and before us is not? It just doesn't follow at all. The existence of outliers does not mean the rules are wrong, it means outliers exist. We can accommodate the outliers without sacrificing science, reason, and the identities of the majority of people.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates21/10/20 06:53 PM

The further you go the dumber it gets. You're "assigned" a gender but born with a sexuality? So the brain is programmed but it isn't? Which is it? Also saying "well 0.01% of people don't fit the gender binary" does not mean the gender binary does not exist, it means some people live outside of it. "Men and women are generally different" and "some people don't clearly fit into one or the other" are not mutually exclusive statements.

All we need to do is look at countries where women have significantly reduced social safety nets like India or China, and their STEM and PECS numbers are much higher. How can it be that countries considered less equal are more equal? It's almost like women living in relative social safety choose careers based on factors other than financial concerns. The simple evidence for male orgasms beating female orgasms is the fact that men (gay, straight, top, bottom, it don't matter) are despos for sex precisely because their orgasms are wonderful and give them a high that women's do not. It's kind of an unstructured whine about men doing bad things because they can. The main points, from what I can tell, are about the behaviours of ghosting and being "unfeeling" and insensitive. I have no idea why people are agreeing with you brainlets. The entire foundation of these arguments is the idea that it was the government saying these things, but it isn't. So instead of arguing about what actually is or isn't happening, you fuckers went off on some weird tangential hypothetical event where the government drinks the kool aid. Quebec largely does respect men. In fact I think it's the only province with its own paternity leave implementation. Here we get 5 weeks at 70% pay, dads in the rest of Canada get 55% and have to split some of the maternity leave with the mother. The news that this feminist organization might be defunded is going over quite well here.

The UK is the only place where it's so open, but it happens everywhere. Was at a bar with my dad when a woman approached and he was very surprised to see her. He told me later that she had killed her husband in his sleep: shot him twice. Not guilty. How? She claimed he was abusive. It's true that he hit her, but it came out in court that she hit him too, often with tools/weapons, and only then did he hit her back. He defended himself and she was allowed to kill him. The part about winning the war vs finding the truth is something that bothers me a lot too. A lot of people are being driven to extremes in both directions by this behaviour and it's maddening. This does explain why so many of the woke denounce science and logic however. They say things like "logic is a weapon men use to oppress women", which is very ignorant and cannot come from a person with intellectual honesty.

I've had a few moments of "weakness" and been punished severely for them. I remember putting a condom on, going limp because it was just too tight, and the girl I was dating screaming at me. It was switching between her not being pretty enough and me not being man enough. She insulted my manhood in many ways and killed the mood pretty hard. My favourite was the woman who kept saying I needed to open up, and when I finally did, she slept with another guy because she wasn't attracted to me anymore…

The handful of feminists standing up for men were cast from their movement, like Karen Straughn and Erin Pizzey (who opened the world's first domestic violence shelter for women, then made the fatal error of researching whether DV is reciprocal).

Like a lot of the commenters there, I struggled with some minor NiceGuy shit because I believed the lies the feminists who kept coming to my schools told us. It took a while for the cognitive dissonance to be too much to handle but wow was it ever a liberating experience to just trust my self and be a man. It's a message I've spread ever since: don't let women tell you what being a man means because they do not understand. Find men who live good lives and let them be your role models.

My wife has sane and reasonable views of both. She will stand up for women where that's still necessary to do (breastfeeding, abortion rights, etc.) but she stands up for men in the many ways they currently need help, like in education and child care (which is her background). She intentionally trolls some of the more extreme feminists she knows and it's hilarious. Granted I would do the same if I knew any incels or nazis but those seem to be rare compared to the crazy feminists.

Also, the report specifies that men were primarily raped by other men, not women. "For men who reported being a victim of completed or attempted rape, 86.5% reported only male perpetrators" (pg. 31) This number very explicitly excludes the "made to penetrate" statistics, which the CDC does not count as rape. They are irritatingly consistent about not ever grouping the two.

Decided not to have sex with a girl at a party when I found out she was a virgin, got accused officially at college. But my college was still based at the time and they told her to go to the police, which she didn't do for obvious reasons. Lost most of my friends though. Nobody even asked for my side of the story, they just believed her. She would later come to me for sexual advice about another guy. Yes, seriously. Naturally, I wildly misinformed her for a laugh. MensLib is not a men's subreddit. It does not empower men. It views men through a feminist lens, and is thus useless. Reminder for the doubters that MensLib outright bans some topics like men's responsibilities for unwanted children. You must accept the 18 year plan if a woman gets pregnant no matter how she did it. She can lie about birth control, poke holes in condoms, or even steal your sperm. Doesn't matter, you must pay according to MensLib, and trying to talk about it is a bannable offence…

There are some groups (abstinence-only and incels for example) that believe the more people a woman sleeps with, the looser she gets. Nevermind the logical failures of not including lots of sex with the same person or having a baby, more penises = less tightness. Women have to contend with that kind of madness just like we have to contend with this shit. Difference is there are a lot more people in their corner than ours.

Here in Quebec, you get 4(?) months of paternal leave, while maternal leave is generally 12 months. In other countries/jurisdictions, there is often no paternal leave at all. Men very simply do not get the opportunities for parenthood that women do. And while I don't expect that to bring the gap to 50/50, it would get a lot closer than 85/15.

"False accusation" is not the same as not getting a guilty verdict. Most claims that don't stick fail because of a lack of evidence. That doesn't mean it was a false claim, it just didn't meet the standards of criminal law, which are understandably quite high. For it to be a false claim, there must be a similar standard of evidence to prove that it is false. This generally isn't possible unless the person admits to other people it was false.

I remember watching the election streams. When it became apparent Trump would likely win, people at Hillary's gathering started crying. I am a Canadian lefty who could never have voted in good conscience for Trump, but seeing Hillary's people cry made me laugh. I don't remember seeing people on the right crying when Obama got elected (though they did do other dumb shit). I mean what a way to reinforce the stereotype of liberal crybabies throwing tantrums when they don't get what they want. Fucki…

I'm beginning to wonder if nature programmed gynocentrism into both men and women. It's important to understand that this is exactly what happened. Men and women both instinctively consider women to be of more value. In some contexts they really are: you only need one man to impregnate a massive amount of women. One man can father so many children on his own that you could cut the male population down to a small fraction and humanity would remain viable. But men do a lot more than father childre…

You mean it's a Gender Studies mashup of opinions based on postmodernist thought, which is made up of pseudoscientific garbage like patriarchy theory. While the outer wrappings of the article are satire, the body of it seems to be written as if to say "We're joking--or are we? Wink. Wink." I mean, just look at all of the real-life examples they link to!" -- however, as soon as someone starts critically addressing those points or offers counter-arguments they will be hand-waved away by claims that it is all just s…

I'm going to add that r/MensLib is men's rights through a feminist lens. There are men's issues you're not even allowed to talk about there, because in their eyes women's issues come first and always have. If you choose to engage there, do so knowing you're going to see people unironically slinging "toxic masculinity" at everything they don't like about men (aka pretty much everything). It's not a constructive place for discussions about men's rights at all.

I had not only 1 but 2 feminist english professors in college. It was infuriating. College English became Women's Lit and men were heavily discouraged from participating. Most of the men (and some of the women) complained about it but the school blatantly admitted it kept them around because it couldn't find replacements. Eventually they did replace one of them with a new woman who was considerably less sexist, but that was not a fun 2 years to sit through.

How does putting out someone's house fire help everyone else? And as I've previously stated in this thread, socialized health care is actually cheaper than privatized care. It's simple economics: the state as a whole has more buying and bargaining power than a bunch of smaller hospitals and insurance companies. Actually America's per capita health costs, including the ones covered by government, are the highest amongst western countries. Twice as high as Canada even. And health outcomes are poorer even though you're paying a premium for it. Free market competition almost never works with captive markets.

Just going by the definitions, they really weren't communist (there was a state, which isn't compatible with that ideology) and arguably they weren't socialist either (especially China and Venezula). Closest thing to Communism are some of the hippy communes. On that note, the "free market" is no more real than communism: it was quickly discovered that regulations are necessary to keep a market "free", like antitrust and patents. I guess you could call it the "more-or-less free market".

You realize a lot of people come here to MR and say "wow those guys are just angry at women" right? This sub is fucking plastered in outrage porn. But we're good guys here, right? I feel that way at least. Maybe you should go over to r/Childfree and ask them why. Better yet, read their FAQ (like I did yesterday) that already has a huge list of threads of people asking that exact question and getting many diverse responses. You want people to give this sub a chance? Maybe you should do the same f…

This thread opens pretty rough. I can see why you shared it. But then it starts to go this way... for what it's worth, the man has very few options (basically zero) options if birth control fails That post starts an avalanche of posts lamenting the fact that men have no power in that situation - including from women - and many of the users hate on feminism. I wouldn't be so quick to count Childfree out.

r/MGTOW used to be the answer to that, but it also has been overtaken by a fairly extreme amount of misogyny. It's sad because a lot of these men have been legitimately and seriously harmed by women in their lives and could use some real guidance. But naturally there is never any agenda-free support for men: someone - whether it be TRP or manhaters - wants to tell you what they believe instead of just offering comfort.

They use the words "globally and historically" in this presentation. These people (and you) have no idea what they're talking about. For example: across the world and throughout most of history, the very young were many times more likely to die of dysentery than violence. And adults were considerably more likely to die of tuberculosis than most other causes combined. As far back as I can find records for anything (usually starts in the 1700-1800's), violence isn't even a top 10 killer of anyone.…

Personally I have no idea who you are or why you feel your opinion has more value than the average user here, and I suppose in this context it doesn't really matter. I have to ask: why do post here if you feel you're just talking to walls? There are more than a few subs I don't bother posting in because they are legitimate circlejerks, like SRS (being a contrarian there is a bannable offence. It's even in the sidebar...). Others I refrain from posting in because the moderators restrict the topic…

A perfect example of feminist "collaboration" is the subreddit r/menslib, where they view men's issues under a feminist lens. Problem with the feminist lens is that it horribly skews many men's issues and ignores the rest of them. For example: the same thread might show up here and there on the same day, but here users will say "Men need help with this" and there users will say "Men are victims of patriarchy too". Not only do they blame something potentially unrelated as the primary cause, but t…

Then there's the fact that the 60-year old businessmen grew up in a vastly different world than the men coming out of school today. These young men are suffering and it won't become apparent to outsiders (especially feminists) until it's too late due to how slow social change really is... Meanwhile, women will start to cry more and more about how "men my age are not prepared to settle down" or "men my age won't take care of me". While he definitely is talking about the wrong demographic, the line is still horrible. For one, many male criminals are also uneducated and desperately need mental health care. I think plenty of people find talking about/during sex awkward. It's part of those communication problems everyone talks about. There is this desire to pretend that feminists and liberal democrats are somehow communists and the PC fascism being taught in western schools is "leftist". This probably comes from two places. The first is what Americans in the 90's perceived as the "Right's" war against political correctness when it was really everyone's war... but that connection has tainted discussion on both sides. The second is the misunderstanding of what cultural marxism means. A lot of people are conflating it and actua…

We had one hour of sex ed in gym class, and most of us were too busy being uncomfortable to absorb any of it, but I can guarantee none of it was gay. What was a gay kid supposed to do, to learn about gay men and gay sex? I honestly never even thought of this. We didn't even touch the topic of gay sex, other than to acknowledge that it existed. Quebec's sex-ed is otherwise quite good though... I suppose it was better than abstinence-only, even for gay students.
