I don't understand what has dowry has to do with X-Men but anyway during marriage the bride's family has to give some gifts to the groom's family which is dowry now dowry can a status symbol that I gave such and such things in my daughter's marriage or it can be forced that if they can give money they can marry their daughter. The issue here is that they are changing a name for the sake of being unnecerally inclusive . It is an established fact that the creaters wanted the X-Men to represent the procecuted groups . I am not American so I don't know the alimony situation in Florida.
