My friend was lamenting to me about his sister and how she was absolutely amazing at soccer/football, better than him, almost as good as Alex Morgan (famous female soccer player). When I asked him excitedly, what happened to her ? where is she playing now ? He shrugged and said “she got married. Her husband doesn’t let her play anymore. She’s got 4 kids with a fifth on the way” and my heart broke for this incredible talent who could have had a completely different life.

Not only is it degrading but also, it’s a statement on how society treats women that women are excluded from more lucrative jobs because of sex work . The male gaze has trapped these women and others into thinking they are objects and that sex work is all they’re good for now because they are “ruined” (this is not true obviously ) . So not only should we be careful of sex work, but we should keep trying to change societal stigma around it . Men aren’t shamed for sex work, only women . The world …

Actually the reason they removed the death penalty was because when they had the death penalty, the rapists were more likely to kill the girls that they raped. Inexcusable, abhorrent behaviour. Please go watch India’s Daughter. It will reduce you to tears.

And the thing is, not that I was showing him through the chat, I wouldn’t have minded dating him as I had a baseline physical attraction already and from what I remembered he was really nice. He totally ruined it.
