100% this. In most cases it’s either a charity chugger or a weirdo in the street. I absolutely fucking hate chuggers. Some of them don’t understand the word NO So why risk interacting with anyone unless you have to?

I’m 42 and a man. In this situation I would absolutely not say hi to random girls in the street. In the post you say near a school bus stop and it’s implied that they were kids dropped off after school, so I would absolutely not say hi to random children in the street. I’d feel weird at my age if a random person (man, woman, non binary) I had never seen before said hi to me. So i can’t imagine at school age it feeling less weird.

I’m 34 and this is my mentality. Why waste the short space of time you have on earth doing something you don’t want to do with a woman because “society says you should have a wife/girlfriend” I’ve worked hard to get to where I am now. Why would I marry someone and then they can take half of it away from me, regardless of any pre-nup that was signed. Better to die alone and happy than die with a wife but being super unhappy with the choice you made to get married.
