That’s a social contract but not defined in law anywhere in the West. Irreconcilable differences. Incomes and assets obtained during the marriage will still be split equally, less compensatory adjustment for loss of income of the main childcare provider.

All contracts can be broken, that is kind of the point of the contract in the first place. Defining the nature of agreement between the parties and defining term and termination. Upon termination of a marriage, assets obtained during the marriage are split evenly between the parties with compensatory adjustment for loss of income of the parent providing primary childcare.

I know a number of high libido women that had a hard time securing a committed partner, and a number of men who committed to low libido women and still complained about it. My totally bullshit evo psych hypothesis is that men will prefer committing to low libido women as it signals “virginal” even to the detriment of their own long term desire.

Why make the sugaring comparison at all when it has nothing to do with building families? Sugaring is upscale prostitution, that’s it.

Part of what makes me initially interested in a man is precisely how he approaches. It’s part of the dance of attraction. You like her for how she looks and I like him for how he acts. To rush through that step is like a man claiming a woman is physically attractive without having even seen what she looks like. It just doesn’t compute.

We’re told to always be gentle with men, don’t talk brass tacks and deny our wants even to ourselves, so I’m not surprised people aren’t more blunt. The point of marriage is the production and provisioning of children, I’d agree that without those intentions in play there really is no point to it beyond the fuzzy wuzzies and tradition. The crazy thing is marriage law these days is waaaay more equitable and logical than it used to be. Before, women’s property, $$ and future inheritance became the…

Forever-girlfriend denies you your fair share of the family income and assets, and makes having his child an unacceptable risk. Marriage would benefit men if men do the childcare at the expensive of his own earnings; he would then be entitled to half of their combined earned income and potentially more, depending on the amount he sacrificed for childrearing. Sounds fair right? But because men never do this as a point of principle and pride, women must if the child is to thrive. Thus, you fucking…

False. Marriage makes him accountable to a new blended family to not fuck off. More importantly it also guarantees half of the co-earned marital income and assets to her, which she would otherwise receive less than her fair share of if she has children on average. Fuck life-lasting bonds and feelings. Those are what they will be with or without marriage. Marriage provides the specific legal protections and financial guarantees that would otherwise be denied the person primarily managing the chil…

Women risk their lives to birth your children while the men crumble into dust in the delivery room. The absolute least you can do is demonstrate it’ll be worth it with some romance. As a society we forget what women are and do because we’ve decided to hate mothers. Any woman you are dating, fucking or complaining about having to romance is a mother deciding who to risk her life for. While little boys hysterically debate on podcasts about hypothetical play the hero scenarios where they “protect a…

Boomer men don’t do jack shit around the house while still not making enough for their wives to work less. So she’s mom, breadwinner and housekeeper while he settles in with a beer after his hard day at the cubicle lol. No fucking shit they got divorced. Millennial and zoomer guys at least know this shit won’t fly anymore and so they put up or drop out of the dating pool. They don’t shut up though, and instead flock here.

You made my case for me. Can we dump the “women think 80% of men are below average in attractiveness” thing now?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 10:05 PM

Method matters. There are big differences between the following questions: “what % of men do you find attractive?” and “is this man above or below average?” and “would you give this man above 3 star or above 3 star if he is very likely to message you after if you give him 3?” I find less than 5% of men physically attractive. I can also rate men by how attractive they are compared to a concept of “average attractive”. I can also choose to give most men under 3 stars given the consequences on the …

I’m old enough to remember how this data actually was collected. Methods matter. In ancient days before everything was left/right swipes, OkCupid had an option where you could rate a profile out of 5 stars. If I remember correctly, a rating of 3 stars and above would send a “like” to the profile, which the person could click on to view your profile as the “liker” and message you. Extremely different mechanics than today, if you can believe it. I learned to be judicious with this feature; rate an…

Why is it my problem to fix if a guy is both a friend and romantically interested? If he can’t handle his own feelings after being told the score, he needs to walk away from the friendship and take care of himself. I am not responsible for resolving someone else’s inner struggle, nor will I be blamed for it. A friendship is platonic if we aren’t having sex or mutually romantic. A one sided hidden romantic experience within a friendship is still platonic. Why do you value a man’s feelings over a …

Redpill is whatever you want it to be. Whether or not women care about looks in the context of a given argument depends entirely on what angle you’re trying to work for shitting on women. I’ve heard redpill assholes make either argument, and come to the same ironic conclusion: women suck by nature but men’s preferences are holy because biology.

Pregnancy is just the start of it. Human babies come out rather “underbaked” due to our bipedalism and big heads; a woman’s arms become a surrogate uterus after birth, keeping the baby alive for years until it’s the level of independence most other species are from day 1. In our ancestral environment, that means a significantly reduced ability for her to produce or procure resources for years even just for one baby. Most women had more than one. Even today, no modern society has figured out how …

A woman can’t become a homemaker or stay at home mom without first receiving sufficient financial coverage. Barring government incentives, independent family wealth or having built a wildly successful business she can quit and sell off, it means marriage to a man who makes enough money to cover living expenses, housing and retirement accounts for two adults and expenses for their children. Very few men can afford to support stay at home wives and homemakers.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/23 02:42 PM

If he’s working 60 hours and she still needs to work a full 40 to keep the lights on, something needs to change financially. If she’s doing the 40 AND all the chores because he’s putting in 60, something really needs to change financially or she’s going to ask for a divorce.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/23 09:57 PM

Your specific mention was time kids spend at school and you can’t even address what FT working mothers with 100% childcare responsibility are supposed to do when their kids are home for the summer. You’re done.

Men have a way of completely divorcing the sexual function from all romantic feelings in a way that is incredibly foreign to womens’ experiences. Women don’t and can’t easily realize how brutal male sexuality can be. Men don’t and can’t easily realize how united sexuality and bonding is for women. There is a lot of pressure right now for women to act like men across social dimensions, but especially in the economic and sexual realms. The challenge is that these in particular are in direct opposi…

If it’s something you can’t control, doesn’t that make it even more important for a woman to select for? More likely to have a genetic component and therefore will be present in your kids. Men can have a lot of kids while women only a few. Better for women to select for the men with the best immutable traits if she can.

This is a great analogy. If you wouldn’t start a convo with a man this way, don’t start it with a woman that way. Follow a man off the train in the dark? Weird and suspicious. Grab a man’s arm while he’s shopping in the grocery store with earbuds in to start a conversation about rice? Weird and awkward. Give a man compliments while he’s at work and trying to serve clients? Weird and disruptive. Introduce yourself to a mutual friend at a party? Would work for a man, and a woman!

Economics, and the proxy signals of ability to access resources, are the most important things to women and for very good reasons. When women are heavily pregnant and have young children (which was for the majority of her fertility window in our ancestral environment), they consume more resources than they can possibly produce. These resources are consumed to create and grow a new human being. This is not a trivial thing at all. We like to think we’ve somehow modernized away from it such that me…

Women need to receive more resources than they can produce during pregnancy and early motherhood. For most women who have multiple children, that means they need to receive more resources than they can produce for years at a time. This isn’t because women are gold diggers or greedy, it’s because babies and children need resources to survive. A mother cannot procure those resources on her own when she is heavily pregnant, bleeding from recent childbirth, or has her arms full of wiggly baby. She h…

Cooperation is earned through well applied masculine leadership. A woman who is universally cooperative and agreeable and pliant will quickly become the “high body count” woman men here revile. What men really want is a woman who is cooperative with them, to the exclusion of other men. If you don’t often find yourself in the presence of cooperative women, there is a reason.

You seem a bit upset with women for some reason, but this is essentially what feminists themselves have been saying. Women and men differ on the basis of their biologically determined sexual characteristics (not just sex organs but how sex organs impact flow of life). Gender, if it exists at all, is cultural variation on a theme.

The story of knitting starts at the development of paleolithic fiber technology, agriculture and the agricultural revolution, women’s historical work and the relationship between women, work and motherhood, the incredible textile legacies of China and India and Africa and the Americas, up to how the Industrial Revolution took textile technologies out of the home and put women/mothers in factories, the survival of cultural histories through home knitting despite the impact of the i…

Well clearly it isn’t better in the context of our ancestral environment, or we’d have evolved that approach specifically instead of what we have. The 180 of such a scenario is closer to reality though, as women have “allocated” men per our gatekeeping of sex.

Ah yes, a profoundly gifted genius and thus no woman could manage, but his random male friends can. I’ll let you run the numbers on those odds with that big brain of yours.

The idea that knitting is boring is some wacky shit to me. You could spend a huge chunk of every day talking just about knitting and never run out of interesting topics.

I have to assume that you didn’t read my post, if this is your response. Either way, there is no such thing as double standards or shallowness when it comes to evolved mating preferences. Their interactions quite literally helped us survive as a species and brought us to where we are today.

All of the things you named are very much in line with men’s preferences. Your initial reluctance may also contribute quite a bit to their persistence, as a woman’s no is a powerful thing and signals her value. I was pretty similar lookswise when I was young with the neotony, warm/nurturing demeanor, and was always quite liberal with my “no”, and had the same experiences; extremely attractive men pursued me, committed to me, and I eventually married the “best” of all. You’re doing something righ…

It’s because these things are a proxy for money/resources, or the projection of the ability to obtain money/resources in the future (ie, being tall, fit and socially competent meant you would be better at obtaining resources in our ancestral environment). Just how men prefer a certain waist to hip ratio, not fertility itself per se; they are programmed to prefer the ratio because that is a proxy measure for fertility from our cave man days.

I think guys are complaining because when women are unrestrained, we get to express our real sexual preferences when we do engage casually. The overwhelming majority of men do not make the cut. The double standard here though is that we accept men’s average preferences as normal, natural and fine. “Men are visual creatures” = ie it is natural for me to prefer women with the visual cues of health, youth and fertility. Old/elderly women, obese women, disfigured women are at a disadvantage compared…

Men cannot escape the drive of their own sexual preferences, and neither can women. Men still prefer women who signal fertility, even if she’s on the pill and he doesn’t want kids/got a vasectomy. What men find as inherently sexy in women are these cues, ingrained by evolution. For women, it is the same. A utilitarian view of “best by modern standards” will not outperform what evolution has programmed in women to find sexy. If you think it’s normal, moral and fine for men to prefer younger women…

Great points. His description of “high value woman” maps well onto high socioeconomic status women vs low. Especially if he’s considering physical, education, number of partners, previously not married, feminine/nurturing/submissive (ie those with stay at home options or role models of such, which are more often the rich). If he’s not finding himself in proximity to many feminine women, he’s probably lower-middle class himself. I came from lower-middle so it’s pretty familiar territory.

Nurturing, submissiveness and feminine are largely relative qualities. Not relative to other women, but relative to a specific man with whom she is in relationship and their life circumstances. To nurture is an act of service. It is making things for the people you love, it is preparing a comforting and clean home, it is cooking for your family. You cannot nurture properly when you are working full time to make ends meet. Submissiveness is an act of vulnerability. It is accepting the decisions o…

Women typically have a much lower sexual disgust threshold. To women, the idea of sex with most men is truly repulsive, a real -1 situation. It’s an evolutionarily programmed ick factor that serves to push us toward the “best” man we can, since women bear all of the responsibility of sex.

Depends on your goal. If you want a happy marriage with children and you want to live in a society where people generally form happy marriages with children? You pick a woman in your league, commit to her and ask her to marry you. If you can’t bring yourself to commit to women in your league, you leave them alone instead while you improve yourself physically and financially to get into another league. That requires some restraint, but that is what you do if you value living in a society with hap…

The sad part is I think a lot of women are having sex that they don’t want and don’t like having. We have lost our collective understanding of the power of “no”. Womens’ collective “no” can shape the world.

Good or bad depends on the goal. Is the goal for men to have sex? Sure, then it’s better for him not to discriminate as it increases the chances of him having sex. Is the goal to foster a society with monogamous marriages producing children? A lower bar for sex than commitment is probably not a good thing.

It’s funny you suggest that, when all scientific evidence points to men’s higher sociosexuality score. I take it as a bit of the old solipsism.

I don’t think society demonizes men’s preferences all that much. We pretty much universally accept the sentiment of “hey I’m a guy, of course I like beautiful women” as normal, natural, a basic force of nature. But if I were to say that women’s hypergamy is normal, natural and should be embraced? First, people would say “what’s that? Never heard of it”. After a quick google, we’d have a bifurcated result: people are either horrified and would be clambering to discredit the claim as even being tr…

Yes, thus, men should be more discriminating and decisive with commitment if they want to stem the tide. Find a woman of equivalent level, pursue her in earnest, and marry her.

The only thing more boring and trivial than this kind of “fun” is ruminating in your own jealousy at others having more “fun” than you.

Sounds like men should be more discriminating and decisive with commitment then, if they want to stem the tide. Find a woman of your equivalent level, pursue her in earnest, and marry her while you’re both young. Why would you blame women for receiving and responding to the attention that men give? What other choice does she have? That is like blaming elephants for being endangered rather than the poachers who hunt them.

Hearing what other people manage to pull off always surprises me. I’m a woman, was as hot as anyone could be in my 20s, but am from a lower-middle background without a safety net and thus never had the financial option to be a “female loser” lol. If I stopped working at any time in my life, I’d stop eating and stop having a place to sleep. The idea of women having a choice about work is really one of women with a safety net having a choice about work.

I’ve heard a lot more of this rhetoric from right leaning men and popular self-improvement commentators than women. I think it’s a bit of a sales tactic for their brands; convince you that you have a problem, and then sell you the solution (their content). There certainly are men that can benefit from this messaging, but these brands won’t grow if they don’t manufacture the concept of “young men are in crises”.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/23 06:58 PM

You just agreed with what I’m saying. If you want to place blame here, place it with obese men batting above their league. Instead your whole post is complaining about women either being fat, or thin and thus receiving the options that men give them. It’s like blaming the elephants themselves for being endangered rather than the poachers that hunt them down.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/23 06:47 PM

You’re blaming women for the behavior of fat men. A slim woman’s “value” would only skyrocket if the obese men were also going for her while ignoring similarly obese matches. You see that, right?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/23 06:03 PM

You just called someone a cunt who was actually agreeing with you, which might give you some insight into why you hear lies personally. A lot of women (especially young women) believe the lie that womens’ real sexual preferences are bad, unfair or shallow and so try to convince themselves they don’t actually prefer attractive, tall, packing and flush over those that aren’t. Women are also more agreeable than men on average.

“Traditional” women aren’t rare. I and every single woman I know in my peer group would prefer working less and spending more time at home, cooking, with the children. We almost all want to make scones for the family and take our kids to the park and have time to go to the gym or decorate the side room. Our husbands cannot make enough money to afford us leaving our jobs or even going part time. I’m instead crouched over my laptop like a goblin for 8 hours a day getting sore and fat and staring a…

If you’re a man and you want a family and to be a part of the solution to save the family unit, you can put “looking for long term relationship, marriage and children” on your tinder profile. Lots of women do this.

There was some article describing how most of human history had a polygamous model with small numbers of high status men at the top with multiple wives and families, and large numbers of single, sexless men sent off to raid and die in war. He might get rewarded with a wife stolen in the raid if he survived. At least in the modern west we get a shot with the monogamous marriage model, which is really what almost all women want. Shit could be a hell of a lot worse.

I’m definitely not a fan of most of his stuff, but Jordan Peterson has a lot of decent advice for young men. Clean up your own mess, how to get direction in life, how to build yourself as a young man with pro-social goals, and if all women reject you those women are right.

The funny thing about flinging labels like TERF around is it makes you think you’re absolved of the need to actually contend with an argument. I think that you should actually gnaw on ideas and arguments for awhile to make a decision on them vs moralizing.

You don’t have to appeal to “trad lifestyle” in this way; you only need to reason from female biology. Women progress through their lives in waves: young/childfree therefore resource productive, mother thus resource consumptive, older mother and thus productive again or a balance. Unless generationally or otherwise wealthy, the financial slack must be picked up by the father.

Who cares what someone says they prefer? We all have preferences, they’re pretty predictable, and it’ll piss someone off enough to complain. The only important question is, who can you attract?

Women own all of the responsibility of the mating decision. Our imperative is to filter, vet and deny so that only the best options get through to us. Womens’ collective preferences influence the shape of the world and hones men like a whetstone. Who a woman sleeps with determines the father of her children. It is one of the most consequential decisions she can ever make. It is arguably more consequential for human females than any other species, given that human babies are born relatively under…

“If she’s into you in a way that will set the foundation for a long lasting, healthy attraction dynamic that won’t lead to her feeling like she’s settled or with one eye always elsewhere (her DM’s usually) then she’s gotta be very attracted from the get go.” Why?

Of course women say no; we own all of the responsibility of the mating decision. Our imperative is to filter, vet and deny so that only the best options get through to us. We bear all of the responsibility and all of our power is in the word “no”. Womens’ collective “no” influences the shape of the world and hones men like a whetstone. The vetting process is how a woman can even know if a man would have been worth approaching, and every “no” tells him how he needs to improve. Who a woman sleeps …

Women have all of the responsibility for reasons far more visceral than power; who a woman sleeps determines the father of her children. It is one of the most consequential decisions she can ever make. It is arguably more consequential for human females than any other species, given that human babies are born relatively underdeveloped in comparison and require a dramatic shift in the mother’s role in life for years just to keep the baby alive (her arms, hands and mind once used for resource prod…

Here’s a fun third rail I’ve been gnawing on lately: I’ve heard the case made that the fact it’s becoming increasingly possible for male->female trans people to actually have their legal status changed to female/woman is evidence that patriarchy is alive and well, and is as institutionalized as it gets. It’s one thing to advocate for a social norm of using preferred pronouns, but it’s very much another to commandeer the very laws set to protect biological womanhood from male access.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/03/23 01:03 PM

The real feminists are more and more avoiding the term. I think the real feminists thinkers today are building their positions around a core set of axioms: there are specific biological realities of being a human female, there is nothing wrong with being a human female, and we should build (and in some cases, rebuild) social norms that maximally support the wellbeing of human females, especially in their roles as mothers and future mothers.
