Women without fathers were more prone toward teenage pregnancy.

Just to add to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pain_tolerance It's interesting that when someone states women have a higher pain tolerance, it's just a given but when it turns out its actually men who have higher pain thresholds, tolerance and report less pain, its suddenly because of gender roles.

It is fairly annoying to constantly hear men make up the majority of x, therefore we need to help the female minority, but when the roles are reversed, the answer is still to aid women. Men are the problem when they comprise a majority that women want to be a part of, and men are ignored when they're the minority or the majority of something women want no part of.

If that's the route a trans person wants to take, they have to know they're gambling. There aren't a whole lotta people who'll murder a person if they find out their SO/lover has a bad credit score. For a lot of guys, I think it'd be comparable to rape. They didn't consent to having sex with a person who used to have the body of a man. They were essentially tricked into it, and the feelings of confusion, anger and betrayal would probably lead to extreme violence at worst, and years of therapy on…

This is my main issue with the trans community. I have absolutely no problems with trans people, or really anyone, until their actions negatively affect others. Lying through omission is the kind of thing that could destroy a person's life, and it's incredibly selfish to "get yours" and completely ignore the other person's desires or needs. I'm not saying you have to tell everyone you meet, or tell a person on the first date, but if you're going to engage in sexual relationship, that person dese…

If that isn't what you said, and isn't what you meant, then this: Reactions to female predatory behaviour has always had different reactions than male predatory behaviour. If you don't believe that, you must be blind. isn't exactly relevant to the topic at hand. Look around you. Men are demonised as predatory all the fucking time. You can't seriously be denying this. Through inductive reasoning, we can know that the reaction would be completely different. Holy shit, we're talking about a mother …

Are you seriously suggesting the mother is acting in a predatory manner by being posed alongside her children? Really? Holy shit, where am I? Did I get lost and find my way to SRS? This is some next level SJW logic. This is being logged right now, on this subreddit. So are the reactions. When we see an opposite situation occur, it too, will be logged. These kind of logs are important. So no examples, then? Right, so why are we pretending if the genders were flipped, there'd be outrage? It's a ph…

If you can provide a specific account of something like this happening, and not just a hypothetical, that may do more to bolster your argument than pretending imaginary people are offended by an imaginary image because the genders are switched. I'm not going to keep beating this horse, but on a priority line, where the low end is allowing men to drink appletinis without any kind of negative commentary, and the high end is ending institutionalized sexism against men, the picture thing is slightly…

I think you may have misinterpreted just about everything I said. The "battle" I'm talking about is people attempting to "out-sensitive" the SRSers. Meaning people are looking for things to be offended about, even if its something that isn't actually offensive. I mean, really, how is that picture infringing on men's rights, or indicative of some kind of inequality? It isn't, and because it isn't, it isn't relevant to this particular subreddit. It's certainly wtf material, though, which everyone …

Right, but this isn't /r/WTF. I feel like people are trying to be as overly sensitive as possible to meet the levels of craziness displayed at SRS. That isn't a battle I'd like to wage.

I'm not convinced it's even an issue. Is it weird as shit? Yes. Is this an example of structural or cultural inequality? No.

The OP's article is stating women weren't excluded from research, and they had the volunteers (male and female) necessary to conduct their studies. Your article seems to be stating there just aren't enough women volunteering because "many women are deterred by the notion that they will become mere guinea pigs for the latest experimental treatments." Women are, in effect, excluding themselves. You have to be in it to win it. The male participants seem to understand that, or at least think if ther…

The idea that a strong man must be solitary has to be fairly new. Back when there were still hunting and war parties, you rolled with a basically a squad; 8-12 people. You hunted together, you fought together, you slept together, you ate together. Those kinds of bonds form a relationship that spouses and girlfriends are sometimes incredibly envious of. There usually aren't very many secrets when you have those kinds of friends. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together…

That's pretty sad. It's kind of like a story about time travel, where everyone is desperately working toward stopping a horrific event from occurring only to realize in the end that it was their actions that made this event possible in the first place. His mother created in him the foe she so desperately sought to fight and defeat. She betrayed the one person she should have loved unconditionally, and he never really recovered from it.

Which is the source of a shocking amount of organizational corruption. The Blue Wall of Silence, so to speak. This is not a good thing. It needs to be critiqued and fought against. I absolutely agree that it isn't a good thing, and I'm not arguing for it. What I am arguing is its in our nature to do this kind of thing, and I think history is on my side on this particular issue. People are loyal to people first and foremost. While we are certainly more individualistic than non-Western nations, we…

You may not subscribe to it, but its how it is. On a smaller level, people are absolutely loyal to each other first and foremost, especially when placed in positions of power or working for organizations where that kind of bond is necessary. Cops will protect other cops, regardless of principles. Fire fighters will protect their fellow fire fighters. The military will protect their own, the CIA will protect its own, the FBI will protect its own, the government will shield itself, etc. It doesn't…

His definition of tribal honor seems consistent with yours, and he's a self-described tribalist, so I'm not really seeing anything that makes his definition not straight forward. It isn't convoluted, and it doesn't require mental gymnastics. That said, I think its silly to say the West chooses one over the other when it reality we prefer a meshing of both. We're loyal to people until doing so contradicts our principles. Keeping true to your word is a principle, sure, you'll find it in just about…

I think there's too much political clot for it to fail. They'll keep lowering the bar until everyone can pass, and its bullshit. I'm okay with women being grunts, provided they meet the same exact standards as men. None of this, "oh, well women are built differently" bullshit. Either you can do all of the same work or you can't. When a guy is too weak to be a grunt, we put him in HQ and he does bitch work all day. We don't let him get away with 3 pull ups and then throw him in a fireteam. He's j…

The thing about the infantry is bootcamp and SOI are easy. Once you get to your unit the real training begins, and that's where a lot of boots have their worlds crashing down on them. Holy shit? We're running 8 miles a day, every fucking day and then ground fighting and doing calisthenics? This is fucking bullshit, I can't wait to go to the field so I don't have to PT. And what do we do when shit hits the fan and all of you don't want want to enlist? Pray?
/r/MensRights02/01/14 01:48 AM

Your point is that women are physically inferior and not suited to war, but can enlist into combat roles if they want to, despite being physically inferior and possibly killing entire fireteams as a result of said inferiority. Your premise is flawed, you're mentality is sexist, and you have zero experience on the matter.
/r/MensRights02/01/14 01:38 AM
1

Clearly, you're mentally deranged if you can't discern an answer based on the last dozen lines of dialogue. "I don't think only men should die!" "Only men should get drafted for combat roles" Yeah, idiot, those two don't align very well. If you're for the latter, you're for the former.
/r/MensRights02/01/14 01:36 AM
2

Your point is founded on blatant sexism and not on reality. Perhaps the business world is too stressful for their feeble minds, and so we should them back to the kitchen?
/r/MensRights02/01/14 01:35 AM
1

Because we're one country, where everyone has a stake in what happens. Why the hell would we dismiss 50% of the population as being too weak to be in combat roles during war, and then let them into combat roles during peacetime? If they're capable of firing a rifle, they're capable of dying for the cause. Just as capable as Poindexter who has never run a day in his life until bootcamp is, but he isn't getting a pussypass. No one should.
/r/MensRights02/01/14 01:32 AM

Holy shit, are you fucking retarded? Do you not know anything about OIF/OEF? You're living in the middle of the fucking combat zone unless you're a pogue, in which case you're on a FOB. You're constantly patrolling through various villages, looking for an enemy who may or may not be there, and half the time the enemy is the fucking kid with the balloon signaling a mortar team with your position. I'd step in and fight the dog regardless of who's being attacked because you made it clear I'm more capable than the one being attacked. This isn't a gender issue, regardless of how much you want to paint it that way. Fact of the matter is women wanted to be in the infantry. They yelled, they beat the deck, the complained and now they're about to be in. If people think they're good enough to be infantrymen, they're good enough to go to combat and die like the rest of us. Stop living in the 40s. …

Are you serious? What front lines are there in Afghanistan? Please, please, draw me some lines. The closest thing we have to a line is, "This village doesn't really like us, so we'll assume they'll side with the Taliban. Mark it hostile and we'll patrol through tomorrow". Or hell, the line that separates Pakistan from Afghanistan. There's your line. Welcome to COIN, son. How, exactly, does saying "if we need a draft, we need everyone" mean we need women on the "front line"? In the kind of wars w…

If a wild dog attacked your brother, would you step in between and fight it off knowing full that you could be killed or injured? Or would you just say, "well he's a man so he's capable of taking care of himself, so I'll let him fight the dog"?
/r/MensRights02/01/14 01:03 AM

In other words, gender roles should exist only when a war arises, and men should do the fighting and dying until the end of time. Sure, women can fight their way into the infantry to prove how we're all equally capable, but when it comes down to it, its just easier to sit back at home and see what happens. Great. What about all of the men who aren't strong, or fit or smart enough to fight a modern war? Are they going to be left behind or will they be relegated to logistical and administrative jo…

If words are enough to warrant violence, most people who mouth off all the time with the belief there will be no physical repercussions wouldn't have a case in court when someone finally strikes them. Fact of the matter is violence isn't tolerated. He said things, she punched him. She's completely in the wrong. I'm all for keeping it in house, but I guarantee she'd have pressed charges had he retaliated. That's where the disparity in domestic violence reports comes into play. Men are forever unw…

Not exactly, since everything about Sinterklaas revolves around Saint Nick. Where the fuck did I say men are expendable? I said if you're going to target people, make it the people actually responsible for this shit. Attacking people purely based on gender is retarded and doesn't help the cause at all. In short, school officials good; going solely after women bad. Right, fools and sociopaths, who somehow manage to make up the vast majority of the western world. Progress is being made toward equality, but you can't blatantly attack women and think its going to change any…

It's pretty fucking stupid to solely target women, and it makes MR look like a joke. Reporting school officials to the school officials? Completely agreed. After all, the myriad of women with turkey basters who conned their rap artist flings into fathering their children, ensuring financial support for at least 18 years, didn't just do it for the money. It was love, pure and true.

You're explaining the difference, and yet not internalizing that the difference means what you're describing and what the picture is describing are not the same. Wanting to find love with someone who is wealthy is a Princess's dream, I'm sure, and its easy for women to attain that dream. Or easier than it is for a man, anyway. For a man, his choice is generally to either work his ass off to become wealthy, or fall short and settle. There is no factoring wealth into the equation when marrying, be…

Quite easily when the only thing being presented is that woman is looking for is a man with enough wealth to support her. What is a sugar daddy? Someone who's wealth supports a woman who sought that man out solely for his wealth. Wanting to be a stay at home mom means being solely dependent on another. It's lazy, it perpetuates the cycle of female dependence on men and its materialistic to the point that its hard to believe love factors into the equation. If that man loses all of his wealth, doe…

Do you understand the logistical nightmare involved in having to create separate facilities for the 2 women who are actually combat proficient? The Corps barely has any money as it is. While I agree that, for the benefit of both genders, we have to meet somewhere in the middle, I don't think its out of line to state the reaction is hypocritical. I mean, how often have you read about men being stripped of ridiculous percentages of their wages to pay to support their wife and/or child? Whenever someone dared to complain about it, the argument used is that this woman put aside her aspirations to one day be the CEO of Space Industries to, instead, become a stay at home mother. She…

I think his logic behind his statement is women didn't complain about alimony laws, in fact exploiting them whenever the opportunity arose, until the tables turned and now its their pay being taken. Traditionally, men made more money than women, so it was always the man's responsibility to provide for his ex spouse. And now that women are empowered, and there are a fair number of women making more than their partners, they are on the receiving end of the laws put in place to benefit their gender…
