Well apparently a washed-out and bleached face with the eyebrows nearly burned off qualifies as "the truth." If you scroll to the bottom of the article, you can see the author applying the filter multiple times, and the app keeps finding more and more imaginary makeup to the point where it devolves into a weird jpeg.

Do you not understand the point of the article? It's arguing that the removal feature makes the person look worse than they would IRL without makeup. It is therefore not reliable to show people their "true form"
