This resonated with me mightily. I'm virtually in the same position as you, both in terms of personal life, circumstances, philosophy and background. I was also raised by a single mother and the many women around her, and long to have that sort of emotional intimacy with another woman. That's what I've always sought in relationships, not sex or power or anything else. I KNOW I am the most important person in my life and I know that I should worry about what I want, but when what you WANT doesn't…

This is the best post in this thread. Going into a conversation looking to be a comedian is going to backfire ninety five percent of the time and will almost always expose you as someone who's trying to hard and overly prepped for what should be a comfortable experience. The most important thing is being honest about whether or not you're funny. You can't really learn to be funny if you don't have an intuitive grasp of timing and how to play off of others. The two problems people have is either …

The way to do self deprecating humor correctly is to use it selectively to highlight: Momentary mistakes that are endearing and not indicative of your base personality/value; ie: making fun of yourself for missing a step and almost tripping. Ribbing yourself for something innate that is more dramatically offset by something else. For instance, if you're incredibly intelligent but aren't great at math, it's okay to joke about your math skills a bit because the woman, in general, is going to be im…

Okay, so obvious followup: If all those faults are so easily overlooked, why would she decide to dump you in the first place? Always something with her?

I dated a 3 something recently and she was the same way. I genuinely loved her and we were good been friends before dating, so I never pressured her, but we dated for 6 months and she never got beyond going topless. Ultimately she talked about us sleeping together, but wouldn't even let me see her legs. Without saying much about your particular girl, I would bet there's something in her background. That's not to say it's not worth it. If you love her and enjoy her otherwise, maybe stick it out? …

It's not. Roughly 5 1/2 when hard. But I am interested as to what you would advise for these people. Are we looking at essentially just accepting loneliness and celibacy? Because, in addition to accepting life's cruel realities, TRP is also about revealing the possibility of change, self improvement, and controlling your own perceived value. So it sucks to think there are just some people for whom this is impossible.

I don't watch much porn or masturbate much, honestly. I'd say I maybe masturbate once every week- ten days. I think it's more mental. I fear the moment of revelation and, the more into me the girl is, the more I fear disappointing her. So I think mental techniques are what I actually need.

This is really helpful and encouraging. I'm trying to do this and to look at it this way, even to the point of saying "I don't even want a relationship" and believing it. Oddly, in the past, when I've been at my most self conscious about this, I've become very indifferent to women and blow off even those women who hit on me. Not surprisingly, those were times when I was MOST in demand from women, because I was projecting not only outward desirability but also a total lack of thirst. To be clear,…

In the last relationship, I was very worried the first encounter and couldn't get it up, which led to some awkwardness. So that is also an issue, in fairness, and certainly doesn't make size look more impressive. I'm actually not as terrible when aroused, but am not prone to getting hard before stimulation, which isn't great because it always leads to girls having to see my rather unimpressive flaccid size.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
