In my experience when people say 'just be yourself' is that you shouldn't exhibit behaviors just for the sake of getting a reaction out of someone else. Such as faking interests, doing dumb shit, going (miles) out of your way for someone (lack of inner frame). People think that's fake and they are right. Don't be fake. There's power in being honest, towards others, but mostly towards yourself. Being honest about your flaws, recognizing them, and working on them day by day. Becoming your best sel…

Oh I totally agree with the genetic variability in offspring. I just wonder to what extent someone's masculine/feminine behaviour is a genotypical effect. I also wonder to what extent that applies to attractiveness due to genetic variability. Your claim that A masculine man's genes would be way more different. than a man who is more effeminate is something I haven't seen before and I find the claim too strong to be made without some literature backing it up. Simply because genetic variability is…

Oof man, could you give me some sources on that? Especially the feminine/masculine gene stuff? Those are some strong claims you are making.

I'm 24 and I don't use it. I use FB to stay in touch with people (not even that much) and browse memes. I connect with people using Whatsapp. Lots of people I know have Insta, but they don't give me a weird eye when I say I don't have it. I'd say chuck it.

I get what you're saying, but I'd rather take things into my own hands. Sure there is a part of me that uses sexual drive as a motivation to get ahead. But most of the things that I do to improve myself I do for myself: I try to eat well because it helps me lose weight and makes me feel good. I try to abstain from masturbation and porn, because it makes me more social (albeit it also helps me approach women) and it helps me enjoy life more. I do my Masters because i want to have a nice job and h…

Soft dread here meaning living your own life. Right? Not devoting all of your time to her, but doing the things you would normally do next to devoting some time to her.

I agree, you should probably go to a therapist OP. There is no shame in it, but for the moment I wouldn't worry about RP/BP. You probably have some shit you need to dig up.

Do you watch a lot of porn? If so cut it. It could also be anxiety in that case it will get better over time as you get more relaxed. Finally (which probably isnt the case) it could also be that you're just not that attracted to the girl.

Not even in student societies? Because where I live there aren't many fraternities that exist on their own (without a society), but enough in societies.

Societies are definitely the way to go man. I hugely expanded my circle of friends through a student society, but other kinds of societies are also a good option. In my first year I also joined a fraternity and once again made a couple of really close friends. You'll probably have to experience hazing to then, but it is up to you if you are comfortable with that.

I agree with just keeping it casual by actually keeping it casual. If at some point she expects more, she'll probably let you know (either verbally or by behaviour).

Either apply some serious dread or break up man. The fact that she rarely wants to have sex with you because of "reasons" indicates that she most certainly isn't attracted to you anymore on a sexual level and that she might be cheating.

I think you should be more than capable to enjoy a song even though you don't agree with its content or find the lyrics to portray weakness. Just enjoy songs you like man.

I've developed more of a don't give a fuck attitude and don't get emotionally attached anymore, my beta tendencies have decreased a lot. So yeah, I've went from no flirt with girls to flirting with 3 girls in a time span of about 2 months.

Pretty interested in RP's view in this. Personally I don't think it would work out (maybe in a rare case) because of women being hypergamous and men being polygamous.

Thank you for reading this and please talk to me. Please don't tell me to move on because at this point I cannot even believe this is happening. I want to try. I'm sorry to say this dude, but you have to move on. It's a part of life. It seems to me that you're too emotionally invested and that she (and her family) is just a tad bit crazy. Go to college, find new people, you'll be alright.

Don't see being superior as her being less of a human being than you, a better way to describe the way you should act towards women is as a leader. Lead women, don't be affected too much by what they say, like you would with a child. You are superior in the sense that you don't take their shit and take a strong position on who you are and what you want.

It's true, people are often inclined to show aggression or asocial behavior to people they regard as their psychological shadow. I personally experience this when I encounter men who just do everything a woman says, men who always complain how their life sucks and who wallow in their sadness and men who are really awkward. The only reason I dislike these people is because they remind me of my former self, hence why it's called your psychological shadow. The solution to this all? Try to understan…

If he's a nice dude, why not? It's the same as a straight friend, besides most of the time gay guys only hit on you when they know/suspect you're gay (or bi) too.

Yeah I remember reading something similar in high school, men confronted with pregnant women and babies become more protective and socially sensitive.

What I'm wondering though about this study, and what a lot of you are assuming are female hormones, is what they are going to administer to these men. Can being 'more sensitive to their babies' and more 'defensive behavior' only be reached hormonally by using female hormones? Or are there male, or rather other hormones that can also cause this behavior. Most importantly though I think we should look at the overall behavior and respect for men as fathers in our society before we go and mess with …

I don't really like the word alpha though, I think a better word is masculine. And I think it's a beautiful thing to aspire to greatness. To lift, to become smarter, to become more social. It's all hard to do, but once you take those first steps things become easier because you realize that taking that step wasn't so hard in the first place, so you take another step and another step and before you now it you progressed further than your peers. Aspiring to greatness isn't bad. It's a great thing …

While I was reading this I sort of came to this conclusion: A lot of stuff I read from a feminist perspective (as in feminist articles) gives me the following feeling: By coming up with all these arguments about what they think is 'wrong' with the current situation of society they are trying to shape society into what they think it should be like. But by doing so they completely ignore what society and personal interaction is really like. Next to completely ignoring the effects that their vision…

There is nothing wrong with wanting equality (in rights), I have no problems with egalitarianism. Modern day feminism just does it plain wrong and fucks people over just like you say.

Feminism is a bit like socialism, a good idea but always implemented improperly. Feminism became mostly extreme feminism (they who did all the things you mentioned) and socialism became communism.

We must be able to release our emotions from time to time. Showing them to much may be seen as weakness, however not expressing your emotions at all can (and often will) lead to psychological problems. It is up to you when, where and how to show your emotions.

Depends if you're in America or not. Women don't always have the favorable side here of they make claims without having evidence. In my opinion we shouldn't be too scared for false rape charges, but maybe things are different in America.

He makes some good arguments, but disregards that men also expect effort from women (intimacy). Thus love doesn't only flow downwards. There is only one thing I wonder though, are women capable of the same kind of infatuation that man express when they are in love? Edit: Read "Women in Love", the answer is no. No they are not. Anyone care to elaborate on this since the article is small. Women might not be able to have the same kind of infatuation as men, but is there any kind of infatuation from…

The way I see it often people think things are really wrong when they read about it until they experience it firsthand. Like women reading about TRP and condemning it as misogyny, until they experience it and find it attractive. And yeah, messing around with people is fun. Nowhere near emotional manipulation.
