I gotta start practicing being neurotypical before RFK jr sends all the autists to camps or whatever "Hello my name is FluidRow. I love subtext and I understand it completely all the time. My favorite hobbies are navigating social cues and making normal amounts of eye contact."

I always assumed any unwanted sexual contact counts as sexual assault

Only female friends, modest/feminine clothing, no social media, wants to marry but neutral on kids (half a point), loves my family but neutral on country (half a point), would homeschool kids if I had any, would want to be a stay at home mom if applicable, goes to church, reads the Bible, loves children, likes to cook, natural hair ngl I'm kind of killing it
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/25 01:16 PM

What would that messaging look like? "You may not want kids just yet but you'd better go ahead and have them while you can"?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/25 03:51 AM

What's your proposed solution for these 38 year old women who haven't settled down yet?

Then don't allow someone else's failing to become your problem. You decide what you put your energy towards and how much control you grant these people.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/25 10:29 PM

Not talking for a year sounds pretty difficult.

I didn't realize he made me mad. Thats wild, especially as someone who is pretty moderate.

How do men get their brains to be so fat and juicy and logical?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/25 08:21 PM

Aw shucks, I sure wish there was some way to avoid following a political ideology/figure that you don't wanna follow 😟
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/25 08:11 PM

"Make sure it's true and factual" is where a great deal of people slip up.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/25 08:06 PM

What will they be heir to?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/25 08:04 PM

But why does this matter? If someone wants something but doesn't take steps to make it happen in their lifetime, what is the impact on you personally?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/25 04:43 PM

I just wanna address this point: "Thirdly, most children want young parents. My parents had me at 30 and I was still somewhat jealous of people who had even younger parents than mine. "I wish my parents were older", said no one ever." My parents had me at 18 years old and it absolutely fucking sucked. They weren't at all financially stable, they had no idea how to raise a child, they weren't able to get an education beyond high school because they had to take care of me. There was no benefit to …

Yeah, I'm a size 14 and for my height I'm approx 20 lbs overweight. I don't go out in public where I can test whether or not I get approached, but in terms of matches/connections in online dating, I haven't found my size to be an issue when it comes to how much interest I get.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/25 01:54 AM

Once in a while I'll think there's a person here who's cool but then they inevitably say something nasty/hurtful I probably need to leave this sub again lol I'm gettin agitatedddd

I painstakingly made my own birthday cake and ended up giving away 95% of it because so many people dropped in throughout the day on one hand, I'm really lucky to have that many people who care about me otoh I wanted more leftovers ;_;

Wouldn't that be entirely dependent on the individuals/the couple in question? I don't know if there's any way to define a "goal post" for something like that. That's a bit like asking how many dates it takes to fall in love with someone. I know that for me personally, I'm unlikely to feel close enough to do anything sexual for the first several months of dating. But that's probably a longer timeframe than lots of people have.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/25 12:33 PM

you're stinky
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/25 01:19 AM

Damn, I hate to hear that about keeping your eyes open. If I have my eyes open I'll start thinking too hard about the expressions I'm making, if my face looks stupid, if I look like I'm enjoying it enough, whether I'm doing things right, what all of his various microexpressions and reactions mean, etc. I have to close my eyes and basically tune out the entire world or else it becomes a paralyzing performance analysis and dissection of my own failings.

Yeah that's also part of why I hesitate about revealing the information. If I can guarantee that it doesn't impact my behavior, there's no reason to tell, since it could be an instant dealbreaker even if everything else is going well with the guy. It's just a matter of making sure I contain it well enough.

Q4A: would you want to know if your partner had been in an abusive relationship? On one hand, I know talking about exes is discouraged, but I also imagine that information provides some important context about their behaviors/anxieties/etc.

/r/PurplePillDebate01/04/25 02:16 PM

No, I said you, not them. How do you know none of that will happen to YOU? If it does happen, the inheritance money will be quite useful. My point is that you never know when you'll need access to a substantial liquid asset.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/25 05:46 PM

You used the term "literally." If you didn't mean it literally, a different word might have been more effective for presenting that particular statistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/25 05:44 PM
2

I'm trying to argue that "literally 0.1%" isn't a figure based in on any sort of meaningful quantitative measurement. It's simply your perception of a very specific demographic of women. A man said "my wife doesn't use instagram" and you seemed to imply that this was a near statistical impossibility, when in fact it is not that uncommon to meet women who do not use instagram for any number of reasons - including women who simply do not want to use it.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/25 05:30 PM

What if they're super optimistic but still don't want kids
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/25 04:39 PM
1

There are also conservative/traditional women who live in groups where social media use is less prevalent, there are women who lack the cognitive capacity to use devices, there are women who are concerned with the overreach of tech companies and chose not to use their services, there are women who simply don't have time/interest in social media... Any population can be "pretty close to 100%" on anything if you don't count the ones who don't do that thing. It's a pointless figure to present.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/25 04:37 PM

How do you know the money will be of very little use to you? Life happens very quickly and includes a number of disasters, health problems, unexpected problems...what if your home is destroyed in a fire? What if your legs are amputated and you can't afford good prosthetics? What if there's a flood and you lose everything you own, and insurance only pays for a small fraction of it?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/25 04:05 PM
7

There are approximately 2 billion instagram users and 49.4% of those are women. There are approximately 4 billion women on earth. Even removing "very old" or "very young" women, your "literally 0.1%" figure seems like it would be a stretch, especially when taking into account the number of women who don't have smartphones/don't have access to the internet/live in countries that regulate or outright ban social media access/etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/25 04:03 PM

Well it makes sense...being told you're wrong about everything your whole life makes you think that you are, in fact, wrong about everything. I constantly question my perception and disregard my instincts/intuition, because I believe my cognition is inherently flawed.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/25 03:43 PM

In general I start to get uncomfortable when a man has had more than a couple of partners, so yeah, two is probably my threshold for the abortion situation. (And even then I'd be like "damn dude, how'd you manage to get into that situation twice?" and I'd want to know more about his preventative measures/the context of how it all happened/etc.)

I can imagine a situation where I have to murder and eat someone to survive. I can imagine a situation where I burn down a building full of kittens and puppies. I can imagine a situation for literally anything. None of those situations will happen. None of it means anything whatsoever. It's imagination. It's fiction. I am so fucking sick of hearing about seed oils. Or about fat in general honestly "Don't eat any fat, fat is bad for you. Actually just don't eat saturated fat, eat unsaturated. Actually margarine/seed oils are bad, you should only eat olive oil. Actually butter is super good so you should only eat that. You should put it in your coffee. You should just eat big chunks of it right off the stick. You should inject it directly into your veins. You should-" at this point it's just silly goose shit

I'd have a lot of conversations with my kid to try and get to the root of that because it's not the sort of ultimatum that comes out of nowhere. It's an indication that something is wrong, either with the overall family dynamic or on a personal level with them. Adopting another kid is less important than fixing an issue with the existing one.

Yeah, I've always landed on "if it's not a 'hell yes' then it's a 'no'" when it comes to having kids. I wouldn't ever try it unless I REALLY wanted it with every fiber of my being. But then there's part of me that gets scared I'll finally really want it when it's too late. I don't wanna regret everything when I'm an old lady...but I also can't make life-altering decisions for that hypothetical old lady.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/25 04:55 PM

Did you always feel that way, like even as a kid? I never had any interest in playing house/babydolls/anything motherly like that...sometimes that makes me wonder if my baseline is also "I don't wanna" and maybe I've just gotten confused by societal pressure
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/25 04:47 PM

I take care of my family and friends and neighbors, I cook and clean for as many people as I physically can, I offer emotional support to people, I try very hard to make everyone's life easier and make the world better. I disagree that women aren't required to mask in order for people not to be put off by them. As an autistic girl in school, I was bullied relentlessly because I didn't do things normally. I was too excited about weird stuff, my facial expressions weren't right, I didn't play with other kids the right way, I was somehow both too loud and too quiet, I didn't get jokes, I didn't follow instructions the way I was "supposed" to, I had verbal/physical stims that made me embarrassing to be around. Yeah, across the board, dating is unpleasant when you're older. I For me I mean it more in the sense of the wall argument that's always discussed - fertility/beauty/etc. aren't on my side and without those, OLD has been a very different ballgame. But in general it just sucks to know you gave somebody that much time and then it ends, and suddenly you're behind the curve. Even if now you're technically a better person/prospect in a lot of ways.

My ex left me when I got sick. We were together for 8 years and had just gotten engaged. The thing that bothers me about it is that I spent 8 years sacrificing for him - he had severe PTSD and couldn't work so I financially supported him, helped him get back on his feet, etc. And when I couldn't help him anymore but I needed the help, he split. The other part that bothers me is that as a woman, I gave him my "prime" years. We met when I was in my 20s. I was more attractive, more energetic, a mor…

I get so confused by all the doomer comments on youtube videos about dating that are like "IT'S ALL OVER. NO MORE RELATIONSHIPS. NO MORE MARRIAGES. NOBODY HAS FAMILIES EVER AGAIN." How do these people not know any families? How do they not know anyone who's getting married or having kids? Where do these people live???
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 03:41 PM

There are different ones, but I think the problems come from steroid-based sprays or something like Afrin that activates the sympathetic nervous system.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 03:29 PM

It works really well as a decongestant, but it can cause even more congestion when it wears off and the blood vessels swell back up. So you end up in this cycle of relying on more and more of it to be able to breathe normally. Pharmacists even warn patients about using them.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 03:17 PM

If you do end up feeling like you can't quit, switching to a spray that's just a saline solution might help. Still clears up your nasal passages a bit, but it doen't come with the side effects or get you stuck in a cycle of relying on it to breathe.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 03:15 PM

When I stick to that, it's the closest I ever get to a successful perspective change. "I can't trust the shit my brain is telling me so I'm going to treat it as an unreliable source." It's just hard to remember sometimes.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/25 09:01 PM

I genuinely have no idea how people like their appearance. I've spent years trying to be okay with how I look in the mirror/photos, but no matter how much work I do on myself, I just can't be okay with myself. Today I got my hair cut and the girl at the salon asked me if she could curl it. I said yes. She finished and told me it was pretty. Other people said it looked nice. I sent a picture to the guy I'm seeing and he said it looked good. I've been holding back tears all day because I think I l…

I wasn't a femcel. The whole point of my comment was that I wasn't a femcel at all. I was in a bad place and adopted the label because it provided an external locus of control. I wasn't a femcel, I was depressed/not taking care of myself/not interacting with men. I apologize for whatever disconnect occurred in this conversation. I didn't express myself clearly or correctly.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/25 12:18 AM

It's just confusing to state that I had a problem dealing with depression and be told it wasn't actually a contributing factor to my difficulties. But I also understand that this isn't a productive conversation and it's foolish for me to share personal details on this sub, and I know that I am very likely bothering you. Thank you for taking the time to reply and attempting to explain more.

/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 07:28 PM
1

Okay. My follow-up question: what would you like me to do with this information? What actionable point do I take moving forward? Is the implication that I have made a mistake that needs correcting? Do you feel I need to further alter my behavior in the present? The fact is that I no longer identify as a femcel and the identification was inherently flawed to begin with. If you feel my weight and mental health were irrelevant factors in that situation, what does that change about the situation as …

I guess I'm confused about what exactly you're taking issue with. I essentially said "I wrongly identified as a femcel because I was pinning the blame on external forces, when in reality the forces were largely within my own control." I am not really sure what part of that is being debated here. Are you arguing that the factors I listed were not actually factors (even though, again, they were contributing to the overall mindset that was keeping me single)? Are you arguing that me eventually taki…

/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 05:39 PM

I didn't. That's the point though - I called myself a femcel while also not participating in the world in any meaningful capacity. I applied the label because I liked the idea of an external locus of control, because in my head that absolved me of the responsibility to try harder or to get better.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 05:35 PM

I guess it's just a matter of differing perspective. My definition of "pure" love is based in my spiritual upbringing (something like the concept of "agape," transcending both cognitive function and personal desire.) So I don't consider young love to be particularly pure...I actually think it actually takes a great deal of reflection/meditation/etc. to ever be able to achieve anything close to pure love.

I use a few different skincare products that stretch several months if I'm conservative with them. In total they probably translate to about $10-$15 per month if I divide it all up. I think it all depends on how people metabolize their experiences, or what they actually do with their baggage. I'm an older woman and I've been through some pretty difficult situations (romantic and otherwise). While I'm not arguing that both genders are not equally clueless (they for sure are), my question is: are these two types of cluelessness equivalent when it comes to the sexual pleasure of your partner? Is a male's sexual pleasure dependent upon his female partner correctly identifying and manipulating the foreskin? For me, the criticism is understandable when a sexual partner is unwilling to identify or interact with the anatomy that lots of women depend upon for orgasm. Likewise I think it's j…

I don't know, I've always been up against my insurance company denying everything and requiring prior authorization. At one point after a potential real diagnosis was finally discussed, my doctor said they'd be unlikely to approve an MRI so he was hesitant to order it. I had to get sort of pushy to make it happen. The insurance company also refused to provide certain treatments even after my official diagnosis. Maybe it all depends on which company you have.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/25 09:14 AM

At least in the US I think lots of doctors are also up against insurance companies not wanting to pay for "unnecessary" imaging/tests, so they probably try to avoid them as much as possible. Medical care is all just a big pile of shit sometimes lol
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/25 08:13 AM

I was told that I couldn't move my neck because I had "extreme anxiety causing a functional movement disorder" when actually my bones were fusing together from severe arthritis. Which they could have determined with imaging but they just didn't wanna check I guess I don't know if it's specific to women, but it's really fucking annoying to have an actual physical problem get pinned on mental illness

/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/25 01:03 AM

I never have been. I think it depends on how much women go out/how much they make themselves available...I assume it's a pretty wide spectrum with more extroverted/open women who go out to clubs/bars/etc. getting approached fairly frequently. I'm not sure there is any meaningful "in general" estimate.

I'm honestly not sure what mine have been. I didn't kiss anyone until I was well into adulthood, haven't done much sexually, only ever had enough to drink to feel kind of tipsy which freaked me out so I stopped. I also don't really know how to flirt so I don't do it lol. I've been through lots of heavy/painful stuff that was pretty formative though. Injury, illness, poverty, people I love dying, that kind of thing. That helped me grow a whole hell of a lot.

/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 07:19 PM

Yeah, I try to do a lot of pre-selection to make sure it's a guy who could conceivably like me. Can't be out of my league, can't have a life that seems too active/exciting, can't sound too good to be true, has to be clearly putting effort into finding someone, etc. It's not worth opening that door because I've heard too many horror stories about how it ends.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 05:48 PM

An interesting facet of it for me is that I have been told what I "should" find attractive (think stereotypical Chad-types) but I never experienced any sexual attraction to that type whatsoever. So when men talked about "raw attraction" or immediate sexual interest and connected it with "all women are attracted to Brad Pitt" or whatever, it sounded fake to me. Charisma doesn't add depth or substance to a conversation. It just adds polish. That's how I usually figure it out - is the person actually saying anything that's indicative of critical thought/reflection, or is it all surface-level? In the case of shyness/social anxiety, I think it still applies. Separate what they're saying from the delivery and analyze the content.

I've had the best luck with guys who are smart in areas that I don't naturally enjoy. Someone who has high visuospatial intelligence, is more competent in mathematical thinking, is a better strategist, etc. I just don't have the patience to apply myself in those areas anymore, so I can let the guy take the reins and compliment him on it a bunch. I think that makes it feel less competitive when I'm back on my own intellectual bullshit lol.

I was talking to a guy who had a chlorophyll allergy - not pickiness, but it meant he couldn't eat anything green. Very few veggies/herbs, lots of fruits weren't an option. I didn't get the ick about it because I think that's fake shit, and I felt very sorry for him...but I did decide I probably wouldn't be able to make that relationship work. I want to be the one who does the cooking/meal planning and not being able to use produce or herbs would have been incredibly depressing.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/25 12:44 PM

How do you breed AI
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 03:37 PM

I guess that makes sense. So you select for women who sleep with you on the first date?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 03:33 PM

Another question, how will you know if a woman is experiencing raw attraction or a different type of attraction? Assuming the attraction all leads to her having sex with you - what separates them that you would experience from your perspective?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 02:34 PM

Yeah but my point is that's a very basic "adult responsibility" that you managed to miss. Other people might have checked first. Adult responsibility stuff isn't always easy to keep up with. And mine was out because of a hurricane but you're right, I should have repaired the entire city's grid myself 😭
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 02:25 PM

This is all like a different world to me, it's really interesting. I just wouldn't ever think about this stuff. But then I don't have much of a sex drive so maybe that's why
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 02:23 PM

"Adult responsibilities" bro didn't you just go 5 months without realizing you had to pay your utility bill...?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 02:19 PM

Why is it bad if a woman is deeply attracted to you but it isn't raw attraction? What are you losing out on? What changes about the dynamic of the relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 02:18 PM
1

I've never felt attracted to someone I hate, because I hate them lol. They aren't attractive to me if I hate them. They are unattractive. If I see someone with good features and I don't know them well enough to either hate or dislike them, I may categorize them under "aesthetically pleasing" but there is no sexual component behind that. Any sexual assessment is entirely dependent on other assessments, it just will not occur before I have additional information about their viability as a partner.…

Exactly. If we all just thought them and didn't comment, we'd probably all be a lot happier.

Yes, it's a point I see frequently from pro-natalist individuals. It was just very unfortunate wording.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/25 02:54 PM

"Women will be replaced by ethics" really implies that the second category is not the first. "Ethnics" will replace "women," therefore they are not "women" (or they would not be replacing them.)
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/25 02:39 PM

idk dude, I generally consider ethnic women to still be women...but if you wanna consider them something else, then I guess I can't stop you. But it's fuckin weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/25 02:29 PM

did you really just use the term "ethnics"
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/25 02:10 PM

I'm saying I can't have children so if you're upset about how I'm personally making your children's life harder in the future, sorry, I don't know how to solve that particular problem apart from erasing myself from existence I never said anything about women or pickiness but believe what you'd like

I disagree that "any smart woman will be a career woman." I'm highly educated but ended up unable to continue my career due to severe chronic illness. It's not always a matter of mental issues or laziness. I have tried to compensate for my situation with domestic skills - cooking/cleaning/nurturing/etc., because I do understand that I need to bring something to the table. But there really is no issue with my intelligence or mental capacity.

Yeah, I'm watching it now. I need to get him to explain more of it to me. I have fun with the stuff in between matches and I've gotten attached to some people, but the action itself is always disorienting for me

I have tried so hard to get into WWE because a lot of the guys I've liked have watched it, but god it's hard I don't get it. I just don't. It's so loud and so confusing and I want to go to bed...but I'm gonna power through and watch it/talk about it with this boy 😔 maybe I will finally learn to love it

Yeah, I'd honestly be a little worried if he was falling all over himself to skip work and meet me ASAP. We talk a lot every day, play video games every few nights, etc. so it's not like he's completely phoning it in. He just seems like a functional adult with responsibilities lol
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/25 04:10 PM

I've spent about a month talking to a guy who lives a few hours away. We haven't had time to meet up yet - we're tentatively looking at spring, once he finishes his busy work season. Today my friend said she feels like he's "not prioritizing me" because he isn't pushing to set something up in person sooner. Maybe I'm missing something but why is he supposed to "prioritize" someone he hasn't even met yet over his daily life

/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/25 02:21 PM

Saying the world "is not so bad" when 45 million* children do not have the food they need is insane. But perhaps you feel differently and view it as a great success. In which case, congrats! The world is beautiful and perfect. 🥳 *edit because I initially read 36 million, turns out it's higher
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/25 02:18 PM

Yeah, I'm already kind of ugly so getting uglier won't change much. Neither will height. But becoming more confident and charismatic would change a whole lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/25 01:31 PM

then why don't you stop running it with women and fix it
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/25 01:14 PM

An estimated 45 million* children worldwide are malnourished. *edit because I initially read 36 million, turns out it's higher

you can practice on me if you need to, I'm very mentally ill and I give good constructive criticism
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/25 12:23 PM

Which then leads me to the question: if someone is that terribly worried about asset protection, isn't marriage is a poor choice for them to begin with? They could save themselves a lot of trouble and just not do it at all.

All the ones on the left look like children. Identifying as an incel that young is crazy

I thought inheritance was already considered separate property? Or maybe it depends on the state/country. It is here.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/25 12:03 PM

how much money do people here make to be so concerned about prenups I grew up working class, I'm still surrounded by working class people in real life, and I never hear anyone breathe a word about prenups. I always assumed you didn't mess with them until you had several million worth of income/assets to worry about Are you all actually millionaires 😳

/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 04:22 PM

Hot. I'm a freak and I don't like cold drinks lol, they're too stimulating
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 04:12 PM

that's a lot of throw up
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 04:11 PM

Yeah, I see no reason to sit near a table full of men if I don't need to. It's not a "gender war" thing, I don't have any ill feelings towards them. I just don't want to invite any attention or conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 03:20 PM

tbh I wouldn't want a guy to kiss me after eating me out, I just don't like the idea of it. And so I wouldn't expect to kiss after giving him head. It only takes a few seconds to run and rinse your mouth out so... (But that's also a boundary I'd probably mention prior to the oral, to avoid a moment like this)
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 03:15 PM

Yeah, I watched some extreme stuff when I was probably too young to process it correctly. It made intercourse look like something that was meant to hurt and be rather violent.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 02:23 PM

I would have been a lot better off if I'd done that lol
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 01:51 PM

Not sure yet. Met a guy who is taking things very slowly and is understanding. Might still panic once we actually try, but I hope that now I am aware enough to be able to work through that panic.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 01:48 PM

I'm realizing that watching too much porn when I was younger is part of what caused my fear of/aversion to intercourse. It always made it look very painful and extreme.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 01:42 PM
2

So for people who don't want to have sex, do you think it's a matter of their desires and needs not aligning? Like they do actually need it and just fail to recognize it?

2

Okay but why did "girlies" become a thing versus just "girls"
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 06:54 PM
3

why have people started saying "girlies" so much?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 06:52 PM
1

Could be. A significant portion of people experience depression/anxiety/etc. Not sure if there's an effective way to screen for such mental conditions based on profiles alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 05:33 PM
1

A guy I had liked happened to match/message me when I was really depressed so I ignored him, assuming he'd just move on to somebody else. He double messaged me a few days later saying he'd really like to get to know me. I felt better by then so I apologized for not answering and explained I was going through a rough patch, then we started chatting and had a really strong connection. I really like him so far. That initial match/message was just terrible timing.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 05:29 PM
2

I have never left a restaurant review in my life and I probably never will
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 04:56 PM

Not necessarily, I have met a lot of guys who haven't, and several of my female friends haven't. But I tend to talk to nerdy/shy/awkward people.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 04:42 PM

How are you supposed to avoid the subject though? I've had a lot of people point-blank ask me if I've had a relationship before, at which point I feel like I have to say "yes, it lasted this long and we broke up for [insert reason here]." I guess I could say I don't want to talk about it, but that seems weirder?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 04:36 PM

Right. So to me, it makes sense to wait and meet someone when I know I'll be able to say all of those things with my mannerisms and facial expressions. Versus meeting someone when I will be too nervous to say any of those things, or constantly questioning all of my natural mannerisms and expressions to a point where I refuse to use them. A person who is a stranger meets a very abridged and edited version of me in real life. A person who I have already established a connection with gets a more au…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 03:24 PM

But when I know someone, I am my full self around them. So why not get comfortable enough to showcase my full self prior to meeting them? Instead of just showing them my weird "you're a stranger and I don't like you" side?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 02:38 PM

I never understood this line of thinking. I'm far more myself in written form - I actually share my thoughts/feelings, compared to in person where I am so concerned with "performing" appropriately and people-pleasing that I am basically a robot with no personality. When talking to a stranger, I can comfortably share far more of myself in multi-paragraph texts/phone calls/etc. than I can in person. But maybe others are the opposite.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 02:30 PM

Maybe I will start asking all the people I meet who live in my town if we can pretend we live three hours apart
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 01:28 PM

Just about decided I'll have to stick with LDRs because they're the only way someone will talk enough before wanting to meet. If someone wants to meet after a few days of messages, I have trouble convincing myself to go because I don't care about them at all...staying home is easier. If someone wants to meet after 2-3 months of talking? I'm climbing the walls with excitement about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 01:06 PM

I was in the Harry Potter fandom with that author back in the day lmao

/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 01:25 AM

I'm already B lol
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/25 08:29 PM

just compromise on attraction and you can still end up in a relationship with someone who is a stable/functional adult ez
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/25 07:46 PM

Easy yes, I'd wanna be able to plan my life around it. And if it happens to be like "you're gonna die tomorrow" then oh well, I'd just order a bunch of fancy food, get drunk/high, and find somebody to hook up with
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/25 07:16 PM

does that mean lesbians are more sexually attracted to stupid women?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/25 07:04 PM

wait do people actually think about strangers like that??? like contemplate their sex lives in that much detail?

you could throw that like a discus and give someone a severe injury
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 01:07 PM

unironically I think we could be friends irl but you'd be that type of friend I'd always be real worried about lol. like "I get it" but also "are u good"
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 04:15 AM

"I have tried to approach everyone here in a respectable and friendly manner"
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 04:10 AM

I like that you are doing bullet points now
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 04:08 AM

What's the term if you're female
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 04:04 AM

How do you know your thoughts don't seep through your pores
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 03:37 AM

who is that funky little dude
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 03:10 AM

Is there a term for only being attracted to someone who is attracted to you? It's like my brain won't consider a person attractive until I confirm their interest.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 03:06 AM
1

Probably 0, I don't really look at people out in public. I only assess people's attractiveness on dating apps and such
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 01:23 AM

Him asking permission for everything/never telling me how he feels would make me sad and make me worry that I'd done something to make him not trust me, or to make him think that I was emotionally volatile. So I'd start overanalyzing my own behavior and be really worried about every single reaction I had around him...then I'd be the one shutting down and not telling him anything. Probably wouldn't work out well.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/25 08:52 PM

Damn I wanna make that but it always sounds too overwhelming

Like I said in the other comment, I've just always gotten along with older men better, idk. Men my age do not seem to want the things I want.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/25 05:43 PM
1

Yeah, I've just always gotten along with older men better than I do with men closer to my age. But the 20 year gap seems to be my outer limit of having stuff in common.

If a woman hasn't had hookups before, how do you judge her degree of attraction to you?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/25 02:23 PM
1

If you want ann actual explanation that isn't just "women dumb," for some people the human brain gets addicted to the pattern of high highs and low lows. The bad moments amplify the good moments, those good moments cause a dopamine spike, and it becomes a kind of reward cycle where nothing quite feels as good as the good moments with an abuser, because they were offset by so many terrible moments. Roller coaster effects keep our brains engaged because it wants to crack the code of the pattern in…

/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/25 12:27 AM

dating someone who is fat/losing weight when you are also fat/losing weight is kind of fun so many of our conversations are about all the food we can't eat lmao

/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/25 05:22 PM

yeah I just thought using the whole "if a girl can't jog with you" thing as your metric for dating is funny when lots of people can't jog for various reasons.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/25 05:14 PM
1

what does that have to do with a girl who doesn't have legs at all
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/25 02:08 PM
1

what if she's thin but doesn't have legs
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/25 12:36 PM

"I will leave a woman if she's an asshole" - I'd hope that would be a very normal standard/boundary
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 03:52 PM

I always see this set up as a comparative thing between current partner and ex-partners, but never any explanation for women who have no ex-partners but still don't experience raw attraction for their partner. What's the assumed reason for that?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 03:50 PM

Makes me wonder if asexuals/people with low libidos have some disconnect in terms of sensory processing.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 03:48 PM

So what's regular non-raw attraction? "I am attracted to you but do not want to have sex"?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 03:35 PM

why do people keep using the phrase "raw attraction"? what's the difference between "raw attraction" and regular attraction? (or "cooked attraction"???) what qualification is the word "raw" providing?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 03:29 PM

Yeah I'm just taking "I think people should be able to say what they think period" to an extreme because I think it's funny
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 10:24 AM

I get it...but it would kind of suck if you were just minding your business out in public and some stranger came up to you explaining the horrendous manner in which they'd like to murder you, and instead of being like "hey don't say that" people were like "well they're entitled to say what they think!" yeah they're just thoughts, but also that makes your day way less chill imo
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 10:02 AM

you can always just go say things on other parts of the internet if they aren't letting you say them here
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 09:52 AM

yes, anyone who disagrees with me on anything should be forcibly silenced
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 09:46 AM

even your parents? aunts/uncles? grandparents?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 09:35 AM
1

wtf kind of gym is that
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 07:20 PM
1

Right, we're saying the same thing. People who take stuff for granted don't realize how important it is until it's gone. Unless you think people think it's important but also take it for granted at the same time. Which I guess is possible
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 07:17 PM
1

Sometimes you have to lose shit in order to realize the shit was important and that you need to try harder next time.

/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 05:50 PM

Okay. Why won't you be vulnerable around me? Why won't you communicate with me? Why won't you take out the trash? I don't feel like having sex right now, or ever. I don't understand why you hate me. Is it because I'm too fat?? Why were you looking at her??? All my other friends are married, when are you going to propose?????

/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 02:58 PM

Okay, I'm just saying there is some implicit bias in society overall that isn't always accurately identified.

2

they don't get to wear sick robes
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 02:55 PM

I don't believe people will directly identify extroversion as a desirable trait but I do believe there is a "halo effect" in place similar to what is seen with attractiveness. "This person is a good person" when in reality they are just outgoing and well-spoken. You see this in workplaces frequently - extroverts are (often) seen as inherently more competent simply due to their ability to verbally process and to sustain energized interpersonal connections.

/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 02:21 PM

you tell me "be civil?" oh! oh! jail for mods! jail for mods for One Thousand Years!!!!
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 02:18 PM

They don't scream but they become more verbally abusive every time they grow back.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 03:19 AM

Yeah you're free to do whatever you want with it
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 03:16 AM

They won't get any bigger than whatever you have right now. The size does not impact the volume of their voice.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 03:14 AM

Would you rather have your facial hair be made out of talking worms (they say rude things to you) or leave a thin layer of pudding on everything you touch (it attracts ants)?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 03:11 AM

If someone would cuddle with me it would regulate my central nervous system thus fixing all my problems
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 02:41 AM

Have you considered expanding your criteria to include 18 and 22? I know it's hard to imagine but it might be worth a shot.

It's funny how this place is so detached from what I experience in the real world. Nearly everyone I know is part of an average couple. Mid women dating mid men. Awkward overweight nerds finding other awkward overweight nerds. Women who haven't had sex outside of their LTRs. Couples who stay together through difficult situations. Mixed gender friend groups that don't dissolve over interpersonal romantic conflicts. This place is a different dimension.

why are you so concerned about a chronically ill person getting a pet
