If you interpret the Bible literally, you can't really talk about many subjects using pure logic. So it's not really a false equivalency, it's simply acknowledging that our society has been structured around biological truths. It's a similar controversy around athletics. If someone is pumping themselves with a foreign drug/hormone, it's not their true athleticism showing through.
