What kind of pathetic troll can recognize an obviously fake video? Good one.

Imagine your hatred towards women being strong enough to make you gullible enough to believe this is real.

I wouldnt either but that doesnt mean it would be legal to assault me.

She wasn't attacking him or anyone, or charging as you said earlier. I've seen the video. If you have video context that says otherwise I'd love to see. Defending yourself from someone walking in your direction and glancing around doesnt mean punching them in the face so hard they hit the ground.

Lol try holding that up in court

I didn't ask if she should be surprised, I asked if someone walking into the frame of a fight you're a part of justifies punching them in the face.

So does walking into the frame of a fight justify being punched in the face?

I love how MRAs criticize feminists for generalizing men and then this shit is just as prevalent here as it is in /r/feminism. You can get your point across without claiming that women don't or don't want to do manual labour. The stupidity of the sign request is just as valid without making stupid statements.

I can understand why you're passionate about this. It's an ongoing battle to get people to take MGM seriously. I believe it is an absolutely barbaric cultural practice yet even calling it genital mutilation gets you labelled an extremist. It's very concerning and I hope these dead or injured boys get more advocates

I didn't mention United States. I am saying that the rates of the risks are not the same for FGM and MGM but if you have stats that say that the same percentage of MGMs performed result in injury or death as FGMs or more I'd like to see them. It is definitely arguable that the normalization of MGM in the West makes it a much more concerning issue for those that live there.

They aren't the same. They should both be illegal and be considered mutilation but the risks and their rates are not comparable. It is extremely unfortunate MGM is more normalized but many people, including feminists, advocate for banning MGM so I hope change is on its way sooner rather than later.

Fair enough, although I was speaking more to treating them like children. Still not good lol.

I didn't say and I don't believe men are taught to be violent towards women. lol, so where you come from, men are never violent towards women, they just treat them like children?

Do you really think falsely accusing someone of sexual assault is a mistake a reasonable person makes..?
/r/PussyPassDenied07/11/16 07:57 AM

Thats a bit of a stretch of an assumption. Acknowledging you deserved punishment for assaulting someone doesn't automatically make her a good person - or at least, not an asshole.

The huffpo one opens for me still. All three articles are feminists acknowledging the importance of male domestic violence. That's my point. Whether or not you like the jargon is not my point.

I didn't say they male victims should be treated any better. Can you show me some good sources for that?

I don't understand your point. There are shitty people who call themselves feminists. There are shitty people who call themselves MRAs too.

This makes a lot more sense to me now, sorry. I agree about the value in seeing domestic violence through a larger scope, bu I think it remains consistent the values in my experience of mainstream feminism media and lit. I was originally responding in the context of present day, as there is still a prevailing defensive attitude towards feminists on reddit - or at least where I frequent. It's unfortunate that there are enough bonkers people who call themselves feminists to get the visibility they…

Sorry I didn't mean to say that this picture in any way was silencing violence against women. I think this is an awesome thing to do. I just find it unfortunate that so many on this sub believe that feminists want this kind of stuff silenced. Everyone needs to work together to change attitudes that pressure men to fit into these shitty gender roles that stop them from coming forward. At least then we will have a better idea of stats and where to put resources.

There's lots out there in online media about male abuse in feminist websites http://everydayfeminism.com/2015/09/stop-joking-about-men-raped-by-women/ https://www.thefword.org.uk/2016/03/is-domestic-violence-against-men-a-feminist-issue/ http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/1189145 The Rape is Rape campaign faught for the definition of rape to include men. Can anyone cite any evidence that suggests it could be as high as 70%? Not saying you're wrong.

It's not the absence of awareness, imo. It's the idea that has been perpetuated for hundreds of years that men are supposed to be aggressive and dominant. This fuels both male violence towards women and the stigma that stops men from reaching out for help when they're abused - which is what creates the lack of awareness.
/r/MensRights04/10/16 03:36 AM

Lots of feminists acknowledge the issue of male domestic violence. The same attitudes that perpetuate male aggression and violence towards women are the ones that perpetuate the stigma against abused men. They just aren't the ones going bonkers when people talk about male victimization. Mainstream feminists get annoyed when the facts of victimized men are used as a rebuttal against someone speaking out against violence towards women. Not that that is what OP is doing or anything. There's tons of…
