check out Outlive by Peter Attia. This is why I tell people to do cardio. I actually texted a buddy the other day doing cardio at the gym that now I really feel old that it just feels great to get my heart up. I have high blood pressure and trying to get that and my RHR down to just not be such a fucking waste. Obviously losing weight is a massive part of it (I have a large frame and a history of weightlifting so that's there).

I have tried quitting drinking so many times and "well, I have to finish what I have left!" is literally the opposite of quitting but I do it every time. Your brain can rationalize anything.
