I find it hypocritical that you said you don't check social media for likes or replies and then responded within minutes to this.

You tell them something in an answer of "How was your day?" and a week later it's ammo during an argument. Yeah, we've all been burned like that and my dad never warned me.

I came across this video yesterday and thought about posting it here but wasn't sure if it'd be welcome. I think you should watch it. I rolled my eyes when I saw it was 33 minutes but once the story started I was hooked. You don't have to be watching the whole time just listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SddZvNQOuFw When it starts getting towards the end don't smash your computer in anger.

I'm trying to find where everyone says this is satire. WTF are you doing in TRP acting like the office gossip, OP?

This has battered husband syndrome written all over it. Glad you're on the way out of the situation.

Thank you for this. There's all types of colloquial sayings like "She's the brains of this operation..." to try and make it sound more charming than the controlling situation it is. I'm in the same position you were in except i'm almost 20 years in and got my self-esteem so beat down I can't find a way out. Big ol' "this is my life now" situation. Glad you are on your way out of it.

I like this. A "hey/hello" to acknowledge you know she's there and keep moving. Cold shoulder would be childish "I can't hear/see you" type of thing.

She's a stranger. Everything you thought about her is gone. Stop having conversations in your head with her while you're at it. Every time you catch yourself nip it in the bud. Meditation helps squash those intrusive thoughts. At least for me it does.

That's flat out weird. I'd appreciate the post.

What's worse is she probably won't even notice.

What does keeping her around do for you, exactly? If it's anything like my situation she provides the "girlfriend experience" without having to keep up with obligations and formalities.

I feel like I should just delete her and block her on everything and act as if she no longer exists, but I really don't want to give her the pleasure of me deleting her. I've tried this and always end up "peeking" to see what she's up to and obsessing over it further. Leave it as it is now and I guarantee you will have the pleasure of hearing her say it was a mistake and she was just upset because x or y and her friend this or that. I'm with you 100% and I know you're gonna miss her like crazy b…

Thanks for this. You got me thinking. My situation is about the same but no "breakup" yet. Been friends for years. Everyone on facebook assumes me and her have something going on so my female friends kind of keep a distance to avoid drama. Her guy friends are all hitting her up because haha guys don't care. I don't really want to end the friendship or anything with a long dramatic goodbye but making the conversations shorter and give it the slow fade. Thanks OP.

Don't let it crush your spirit if she cancels, ok? You sound super-excited about this and that's cool but I've been cancelled on a few times also. Just remember it happens.

Well I wasn't the one originally requesting the proof. It sounded interesting so I did want to see it. Probably throw it up on /r/malefashionadvice Edit: And I really was going to delete the account if you request it. I was already trying to come up with names "LostABetOnReddit" "ChallengeLostOnRddt

You really that hard up for money? Wouldn't you prefer to say you got someone with over 10,000 karma (link and comment) to delete their account on their cakeday? My point still stands. I think you made up the story to go with this theory you came up with in the shower.

I'm sure there's a subreddit to post fictional stories about how you became an alpha male by changing your clothes. I bet anything you can not post a picture of the clothes you described laying on the sofa. If you do I'll delete my account. Edit: The point is you're saying something worked for you that you never actually did.

Well I get it because I've heard it from my friends before. Wear a unique cologne that smells good and she'll always remember you by it. Like drakkar, Fahrenheit and eternity always reminds my friends of their high school boyfriend. Avoid those. I wear Gucci Envy. Avoid the popular ones. I guess not EVERY time you leave the house. Not if I'm going to the store to get milk and a pop but just somewhere you might meet someone interesting. Don't wear it to Walmart but wear it to Target.

Maybe the extreme of all your life has been the difference? Dunno man. My friends and flat mates always pushed me to go after someone when I felt they were "out of my league" and they were always right. I never was much of a PUA but I always knew if I enjoyed someones company I wanted to pursue a relationship and it always ended well because even when it ended they taught me how not to end it on shitty terms or where their ex's failed to give the whole thing closure. Don't give up. Don't fall in…

Most are but there is a bunch that are either comfortable having a man in the house/feel safer or if they're like me prefer having a friend of the opposite Sex because their same gender gets too competitive. It's out there. Where I'm at the split is about 65/35 where 35‰ prefers opposite gender roommates.

Same here. I've been introduced as someone that was in a relationship for years and have had one or the other say "Oh so you know he has had some practice". One night stands are a sign you can talk them into bed, that's it. Most of the things I see here are comical and sound sarcastic. Something Dennis Reynolds from /r/IASIP would say.

I keep two. One for evenings and one for day. It helps put the other party in the frame of mind of what is happening. If it's a chill evening I might use the day cologne.

Perhaps they had a genuine reason to warn their friends about you? Out of context you make it sound like they were just assholes. What were they warning about? Was it true?

And not just the physical part but the content of conversation. Don't get into emotional things or personal problems until you're a couple. Talk about the future, aspirations and how to achieve it. Ask her about her life. If she starts talking about emotional or personal problems steer the conversation to something more positive, not necessarily sexual.

Just yesterday I'm outside the store smoking and two women are walking in right behind each other. One had a mini skirt and all made up. Seemed she was heading to a party and stopping for one last thing. Behind her a woman with sweatpants, same body type (average) and carrying the tackiest oversized gold purse and wearing All Star Chucks. Yeah girl in the sweats though equally attractive looked more fun to chill with. I'm pretty sure I forgot where I was going with this.

Love this all and I've found all to be true in the past. Having a female roommate and best friend was the biggest learning experience of my life as far as social situations go. She made me feel more comfortable around beautiful women and realize they like talking about normal things like the rest of the planet and are completely approachable. Thanks for the informative post.

ITT nobody knows how to have a female friend. My best friends have always been women. Easy, treat her like a girlfriend but don't kiss her or fuck her. You don't have to say you're friend zoning her. You both have it clear you're trusting friends that bounce advice off of each other. People will imply there's something more going on. When they say "Wow you guys seem like good friends". Don't shy away from it. Say "Not just that, we're GREAT friends!" it's not complicated. Has worked for over a d…

You shouldn't be pushing for sex on a first date if you're really interested in a relationship. That just cheapens the whole encounter. If you're a PUA then knock yourself out but don't expect it to last. I'm just explaining to you what you already know but apparently don't understand what's happening.

She was doing her job. Just like when a waitress brings you food it's not that she wants to serve her master. If she wants to get to know you she'll hand you her number. Chances are she won't risk her job unless you really blew her mind. Also don't hit on people that are at work. That puts them in an awkward situation.
