All of the poll was in complete anonymity. I have no information about any of the participants other than their sex and major. The ratio was 45% men 55% women I have only asked the sex of the participants for this poll, I have not asked for their sexual orientation or gender. They knew it was a poll regarding dating the opposite sex and differences in perceptions among sexes before taking it

That might be due to a specific academic environment that is very encouraging towards women. I asked the same question in other platforms (where the participants were not exclusively students) and men saw power and money slightly more favorably then women

Yes I did notice that, and I won’t deny that I think the result I most appreciate after all this is the polarized view of the world and society that people of different sex might hold in general I think it’s likely there’s some truth or validity to both worldviews, reality is complex and if there’s something I learned from all this is that I should not be rigid in how I interpret reality

I will listen to everyone, and use reason and critical thinking to trust what I think is reasonable or logical. I do think many of the points and critiques brought up in the other sub are feasible, except for a perceived flaw in they themselves being biased

That’s not what the poll asked. The question was not “what is your acceptable range of height to date someone?” It asked for the minimum height. Thus, I don’t think you can come to the conclusion you mentioned. That is not what the poll results say. I do have an understanding of the critiques brought up in the other sub, and I do agree with some of them. I’m only pointing out some of perceived inconsistencies in their arguments. The poll I created was critiqued to be biased, and as a result I was suggested to read scholar works, which I have read and they seem just as biased to me. So I’m questioning the validity of critiquing my poll as being biased

Maybe I’m confused by some of critiques mentioning my poll being biased. Some of these critiques suggested to read scholars like Paige Sweet. Yes I agree. The sample size is quite small I also tried to replicate the polls (not all the questions though) in other platforms, and with even more participants, although these were much less controlled surveys. However, the trends were often similar to the ones I’ve shown here, although not identical obviously

The data I have shows that only 38% of women would surely date a man average height or less than average. 37% of women put their minimum preference between 5’9 and 5’11. We don’t know exactly what percentage of these 37% is ok with just 5’9 or prefers 5’10 or 5’11 as the minimum height. I’m very intrigued by how these issues are seen socially. Because even the link that I included in the post, which shows data saying that the control gender pay gap is $0.99 to $1, still claims that we need to do more to achieve equality. Is $0.99 to $1 not already equality? I’ve also tried to talk about it at my university very politely and respectfully but I was seen mostly as misogynistic even though I tried to just show the data and express no opinion

It’s actually $0.99 on the dollar for the same jobs with the same qualifications. In stem it is actually $1.01 on the dollar, meaning women are paid more The $0.82 statistic only reflects the fact that there are less women in senior positions, however I have never witnessed a barrier that women faced and prevented them to being promoted to more senior roles. This is the uncontrolled gender pay gap, which is a very misleading terminology since there is actually no gender pay gap
