I personally hate all of the ‘conditioned’ and ‘socialized’ discourse. It feels like some highfalutin version of astrology. You don’t do things cause you’re a Leo, and you don’t do things cause you were ‘conditioned’ to do them either. Men aren’t independent because they were ‘socialized’ to be, they do it cause it’s the logical thing to do. Think of it this way. Women talk all the time about not wanting to be dependent on men financially and to be able to stand on their two feet if the relation…

Okay. So men have their way of connecting and women have their way of connecting, and you come in and say the way women do it is the correct one and men are wrong to want to connect in the way their used to? Who made you the ultimate arbiter of what kind of romance is the good and bad ones?

Okay, fair enough. But women have to prove they’re trustworthy too. Women aren’t any more reliable, any more mature, or any better at communicating than men are. They also have to prove those things.

What about the higher suicide rate among men? Higher homelessness rate? Lower life expectancy? Or do these not count as ‘issues’ too?

This feels both obvious and naive. Obvious because yeah, you can’t make everyone like you (at least 100% of the time), and staying true to yourself and doing the best you can with your circumstances generally are good advice. But it’s also naive because it ignores the context of men’s actual lives and feels dismissive of their struggles, which is where the backlash comes from. Following this advice isn’t guaranteed or even likely to make your life any better. It’s sorta like the equivalent of gi…

Being a good person can (potentially) help sustain an existing relationship. Being a good person does not help you get into a relationship or create attraction in the first place.

Great post. If you bring up insecurities as a man, be prepared for the woman to shift the topic to her insecurities, how she’s such a victim, how you are to blame, how your insecurities aren’t real and not worth acknowledging, at least until later when she’ll use them against you. Better to keep that stuff to yourself.

I feel like both genders have three zones they place the other gender in. For men it’s - women I would neither have sex with or date - women I would have sex with but would think twice about dating - women I would gladly have sex with and date. For women it’s - men I would neither have sex with or date - men I would consider dating but wouldn’t have casual sex with without getting to know them better - men I would instantly drop my pants for. When women complain about ‘situationships’ it’s cause…

Uh, you weren’t the original person I was responding to? Why are you acting like I was talking to you directly?

Most likely they are skeptical from experience… funny how you learn about the average man’s dating experience and immediately jump to assume they have ‘bad mental health’ and ‘unhealthy thought patterns’

I agree that getting women to pity isn’t a good strategy, and I try to avoid it. However, I don’t really expect women to have any sympathy for me particularly, I do want them to understand that a society where the majority of men are lonely and bitter isn’t a healthy one, and that maybe more should be done to help these men if you know, we want our society to survive and function.

‘Autistic people are annoying as fuck to NTs.’ Great! Now you know what it’s like to be autistic. You have to put up with us occasionally. We have to put up with you guys all the time. But i’m sure that’s our fault that we don’t just magically know what you guys want at all times.

Can I ask a question? Why can’t guys blame women for their troubles with dating? Women never hesitate to blame men when they struggle in dating. So why is it wrong for a guy to do the same?

Uh, yeah? Have you never heard of simps, white knights, or male feminists. There are plenty of ‘women-centered men’ these days. And plenty of misogynistic guys still get laid.

This sounds allot like the Dionysian/Apollosian dichotomy. Have you ever read Sexual Personae by Camilla Pagila?

Why can’t she ‘just know’ that being provided with clear instructions and reminders is what will make me happy? Shouldn’t she ‘just know’ that’s what I want? Two can play this game, huh? Seriously though, in my opinion, clearly expressing your needs and desires like an adult is one of the keys to a healthy relationship, because doing otherwise is just a recipe for resentment. Instead of inventing a problem to get upset at, why not just make things easier on each other and make your desires clear…

It’s a classic case of ‘women aren’t lying, they just mean something completely different from what they say’
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 05:49 PM

This is obviously exaggerated, but there is a great short story I read years ago that’s stuck with me that explores more or less this scenario https://www.nplusonemag.com/issue-35/fiction-drama/the-feminist/

Okay, but why does ‘empathy’ seem to be a mostly one way street towards women?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
