Oh I for sure read nothing you sent. Because it's the middle of the day. This was an "I'm taking a dump" conversation. I was talking about the kids in the video dude. You feel a way, that's fine. It comes off as a reactionary cloak to not like gay people. And I have no interest in some link contest to demonstrate who suffers most from ideological violence... it seems too obvious.

I'm not saying there aren't oversteps. Being silenced violently is the not so distant history of the queer community. It's not the same as telling a speaker they're not wanted at an academic institution. The bile drawn out about it, to me, seems less a productive a way to encourage free speech, than it does the new way to create an outgroup out of queer people. Given the history, the violence of it and who was getting hurt, I am way more willing to let some kids be dumb and feel little silly bit…

I see way more people (like you) complaining about it than I see people actually stepping over the line to shut down speech. Let's keep in mind queer people weren't allowed to talk about queer issues for centuries, often on threat of death. I can give them some leeway making minor oversteps now that the microphone has fewer red lasers on it. No one's burning you alive for being upset about new language for gender expression. Chill.

The problems women have with men are real and worth struggle to remedy, but this culturally sanctioned profiling of men and what can only be described as prejudice, isn't the path toward a healthier world for everyone. It's troublesome (mostly) NOT because it's happening, but because it goes uncontested. And protestations are registering as misogyny instead of a description of lived experience and concern for the result and ramifications. Continue speaking up friends, silence helps no one!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
