1	Red Pill - Foster Parent DEA hasn't focused on busting casual users for as long as I've worked there. Granted you might get ratted out by a supplier and get raided but raids usually require more than just verbal evidence. Although every office is different , suppliers of drugs that lead to deaths are priority. The rise of the rings that involve sex trafficking & child prostitution deals are the biggest focus. Whether they admit it or not , we end up with the same shitstorm of problems that they can't seem to solve every election season. Do you remember the Home Depot scene in Breaking Bad where Walter White gets pissed because he knows the guy buying stuff is going to kill himself & his clients ? That's basically me every day. We work with state governments investigating drug cartels. Almost every office I'm in is pro decriminalization of the majority of recreational drugs. The main supply of illegal immigration RIGHT NOW is through meth cartels. One fact that the media spins is that the majority of sexual abuse & physical in foster homes comes in group homes (what we used to call orphanages ). 13	Red Pill - Foster Parent Honestly the more time you spend around kids the less afraid you'll be. Like hunting or fishing, it requires patience and studying patterns in your head. That being said, they aren't your children and you seem to respect the people whose kids' you're taking care of. It's fine that you put more pressure on yourself. 17	Red Pill - Foster Parent Oddly enough, I'm actually working on a proposal to move foster children to rural areas / working farms. Half of them (literally) require fresh air because they grew up in and around meth labs. A problem that I saw with these kids was that chores were associated as punishment. Or they saw it as something their single mom complained about doing to them. Unfortunate as it is , they often need basic care and don't have a fully invested single parent so they start out life off the rails going nuclear to get attention. RE: beggars can't be choosers - I don't disagree, these kids get food & shelter and someone who can take them to school and the doctor. Sometimes they turn out okay. Not sure how old you are but the foster system now is filled with kids who have shaken baby syndrome, pre-natal underground meth exposure, and malnutrition on top of abuse (physical and sexual).
