In my experience TRP is custom-tailored for North American culture. While it still kind of works elsewhere in the West since that culture is so influential, it doesn’t work as well in countries other than Canada and the US (i.e. Western Europe) and it works better in countries that maintain a close cultural proximity with the US (like the UK) Not sure about Asia / Middle East

The argument is purely about legal paternal surrender by giving up all rights and responsibilities to a child As I said I 100% agree that men should have this right, regardless of the circumstance, but it is simply not true to say that this is right is the mirror right of women's right to abortion, because the consequences of making that one-sided choice for men is not the same: the child then gets to exist.

While I 100% agree, the difference is that if the woman doesn’t want the child but the guy does, the child then doesn’t get to exist. If the guy doesn’t want the child but the woman does, the child gets to exist and then needs to be attended to. Basically, no child = no problem, which is partly why women have been allowed to make this decision on their own. The real equivalent right would be for a man to have the right to force a woman he got pregnant to abort, and that’s gonna be a tough sell.

This makes it possible for people who are literally not fit for the job to obtain it. At some point we need to draw the line and say that shit needs to get done properly by people who are best suited to do it. This type of fanaticism will be the downfall of Western societies.
