I don't say things like "Jesus" and such when using expletives out of respect for others. But I DO have a friend named Jesus and I have a lot of fun with his name in various ways. Any time there was an issue out of Mexico, I'd also tell Jesus to call his cousin Jesus to tell him to knock off the shenanigans. People confuse Empathy with Sympathy. Empathy is impossible unless they have experienced that specific whatever for themselves. Sympathy gets a bad rep because people think it is only feeling bad for someone in a way that puts them beneath you in some form be it emotional, physical, mental, or situational. You should be asking him to feel sympathy instead of empathy, in this instance.

Was the Demos Study from May of 2016 but the only place I can find the actual study itself, now, is behind a pay-wall. News reports at the time are framing it as "No less than 50%...blah blah blah" in a way to obfuscate the problem of just how nasty women are to one another. Not saying they don't get verbal harassment by men...just that an actual study concluded women were worse in this 200k+ instance. Nothing is black-and-white.
