Usually not just hooking you up with a job. Most of the time the family (if they have the means) will always buy you a place to live, or at the very least pay for the down payment for you. They would also take care of your kids so you don't have to spend money on day care, take care of chores around the house etc. Asian culture focus on collectivism while the West focuses on individualism.
