It's amazing to me that liberals will freely criticize an imagined monolith like "old white men" (violating all the 'isms' that they love to decry), yet no one else is allowed to criticize "young black men," who are, by any fucking metric you want to use, infinitely more pernicious to every single society on earth. The police were told to stand down because the UC administration knows what sort of screeching children their students are. it was a safer move to be criticized for not enough police presence than too much. The fact that they got their asses pummeled was just icing on the cake. Perhaps it taught those kids about the value of policing.

I'm only vaguely familiar with that name, and I'll bet most conservatives have no idea who he is. And without liberals latching on to him like a life-raft (as if he's some kind of smoking gun proof that conservatives are secretly Nazis), I doubt anyone would know who the fuck that guy is. I wasn't referring to AntiFa, per se, but rather the new breed of shrieking campus liberals who shout down speakers, and try to censor opinions and speech they don't like.
