Men desiring sex more than women is a generalisation and feeds into bad ideas about men and women.

I disagree. Dating apps makes everyone's lives worse. If dating apps actually worked, they wouldn't be a good business model. The app needs people to come back to it.

People get their morals and beliefs from what is socially acceptable from culture. Men follow cultural norms that dictate what is and is not acceptable for a man to do. Most cultures dictate a patriarchal culture, and sometimes even a rape culture. People who do not follow the culture are shunned, laughed at, bullied, get disconnected from their society, or are even killed. This includes women too. And this especially includes oversocialised people who are over influenced by what is the norm, wh…

Eh, I could say someone could do heroin if they're curious about it. I think men who are obsessed with casual sex and hookup culture have issues they need to resolve through therapy or whatever. They probably had a bad childhood with an abusive parent or neglect or bullying. Just look as Clavicular. He hasn't had the best childhood, and he turned out the way he has.

I think people who want sex with someone, after not even knowing about them too well in person. And haven't at least spent a few months getting to know them as a person, are mentally damaged. I speak as someone who's experienced hookup culture. I am mentally ill myself, and that's the only reason why I willingly engaged with it. And I can say the same thing about everyone else who wants casual sex. Go to a therapist before hooking up is what id recommend. And no, I'm not some neocon saying peopl…

It doesn't make me feel anything. That's your opinion and it's valid. Most people would be evil as billionaires
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 10:06 AM

Exactly. We shouldn't dismiss concerns of safety, out of fears of discrimination. That's the sort of reasoning that got Henry Nowak killed. I say that as a racial minority myself. I don't give a fuck if you criticise my culture or orientation or gender. I have plenty of criticisms of my own groups. And I'm tired of thinking that's wrong. As long as someone isn't bullying or abusing you for who you are. That isn't discrimination. That's criticism, and critique shouldn't be illegal

Men don't want women to sleep around. I haven't seen any of these men.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 08:58 AM

There's nothing wrong about generalising. Not doing so is avoiding an issue of something that could be resolved if properly addressed in society

Men commit crimes on women regardless of whether the manosphere exists or not. The real problem is culture and biology. Some cultures demand men to be abusive to women. Pornography culture demands the same thing. That's the issue we have to sort out.

Yeah, most people in the real world don't even know what any of these online brainrot lingo mean. I didn't even know what the 8/20 rule or mewing or whatever was before I entered these spaces. It's all Gen Z skibidi toilet agartha 4chan brainrot nonsense.

Most of these conversations about men or women focus on a select few of rotten apples rushed by the algorithm on brainrot social media like TikTok. Most men and women aren't like this

Men need to be macho, emotionless, muscle Chad's who never express their emotions or thoughts and always be the provider. And women need to be quiet, submissive, sexy, emotional and affectionate. Exist for the sole purpose of sexual gratification and conceiving children. Both ideals are insane

The idea that men will always chase sex, is extremely harmful, in that it causes people to treat male rape victims less seriously. Because men always want sex, he can't get assaulted, any man would want that. It's disgusting

Perhaps, but societys idea of how women and men are is far too exaggerated from how they really are. And that hurts everyone who aren't the ideal man or woman. There are also double standards for both genders. Double standards that in a fair society, would've been abolished. How do we get rid of those double standards, we treat people fairly.

No, op is saying people who want loving relationships without putting in the effort are entitled

I feel like all these pains could be avoided, if society and societal norms treated men and women exactly the same.

Yep. The industrial revolution has been a burden on everyone. Less technological advancements is a good thing. All the technological advancements today, AI, social media, etc is ruining society

Most ancient philosophers such as Diogenes of Sinope could not care less about such luxuries, and became names that will be remembered for centuries. Unfortunately every generation after the boomers don't care about life's biggest questions, and prefer ranting about dating and sex and crypto and whatever sort of brainrot is in trend

I'm not against sex work. Sex work shouldn't be illegal, provided there are protections for workers. But I don't think most people just want sex. Most people want love and affection. Just banging someone isn't gonna fix that. And I think the real issue is atomisation and the general lack of meaning in this society

I've never used virgin as a insult. And I don't consider being a virgin to be immoral. Maybe that's common in America. But I don't live in a place where we have such seething hatred for own fellow man

Yes, I would say the same thing. Children need parents who are there for them, regardless of whether they are a mother or father.

I feel like people only deserve things if they work for it. People need to work on themselves if they want, what they want out of life. For some people it takes more effort than others. And I really sympathise with that, that sounds like it would suck. But I find it hard to empathize with someone who complains about being unhappy yet not doing anything about it. We are not children, mommy and daddy isn't there to give us what we want anymore. We need to grow up and put effort into our hopes and …
