Because 80% of the guys were considered unattractive by the study, it does not mean that by opposition only 20% of men are considered attractive by women. That's a common statistical fallacy. I think you're right about this. But with Tinder and online dating becoming more the norm for dating this proves the 80-20 rule. A man outside the 20% is given a chance or being settled for. This is if he gets a match and it progresses to an IRL date. Profile adjustments could improve some men's dating pros…

It's like how fast food is popular but people ridicule fast food. Most people aren't proud of eating McDonald's but they do it out of convenience. Also, it's mean to openly criticize anyone that's overweight but being too overweight is a health issue. Similarly, if a person eats too much fast food regularly then they normalize that in their diet instead of proactively eating healthy. Plus there is no woman that would not be more attracted to their partner once they got in shape.

Right. But highly attractive multimillionaires are far from the norm in multiple categories. You're situation is an exception. Also, if these types of arrangements were more socially acceptable then it would be a different conversation. Monogamy is still the standard in western society.

That's polygyny and a miniature harem. Hugh Hefner basically had the same dynamic and he's being dragged through the mud by one of the surviving participants.

That may be true, but a group of attractive people would benefit from being more public with their poly relationship. It would bring them more potential partners if they wanted and they could even create a social following based on that. But attractive people are more likely in the minority, especially attractive men. An attractive man is highly unlikely to have an LTR with a woman that seeks multiple partners. Especially if that man is financially secure he has an advantage and can simply sleep…

If we’re being honest here, it’s essentially creating a new generation of men to be heartless, emotionally unavailable, players. This may be true. But part of TRP is seeing the world for what it is. The "damaged" men allowed themselves to be vulnerable with women that were heartless, emotionally unavailable, players. Social has revealed that women can be more manipulative than men when it comes to relationships and they face little to no consequences. The core of TRP isn't gaming women, it's sel…

But you did just passive agressively shame me. Plus, the radar for men and women is different in the present day. Women have more perceived options and less incentive to settle down even if that will make them happy. You resorted to a personal attack instead of addressing the argument. Who hurt you lol?

This is very true. As a man that used to meet the minimum requirements for a relationship. Now it's like you have to be marketable to even get dates. Terms like SMV describe the dating world when it used to be a lot less complicated. Now in addition to being a hard working stable guy you have to have more superficial qualities based on a women's perceived options. Although I'd rather be stable, low-key with my life in order even if I'm not in a relationship.

This is a valid perspective. Two things that can also be a factor are the decline in sex from some women having post partum depression after pregancy and all women having to recover physically after giving birth. The added stress of a newborn in the house can make a husband likely to cheat and pursue sex.

People wonder why I'm cagey, hyperalert, and quick to get an adrenaline rush even now, 21 years after it happened. The feeling that you have to constantly be on guard to defend yourself simply never goes away. I was very quick to get in to fights when I was in my late teens/early 20s (I was provocative and cheeky, but never sought out trouble, just FYI) and sometimes I wonder if I'd still have been like that if I hadn't had such a tough upbringing. This is very relatable. Having been at schools …

There’s a few people on here that have the opposite view from me, but I always enjoy reading their comments, as they tend to elaborate and support their points very well. I agree. This forum does have well reasoned arguments or people that openly express why they do certain things even if they stem from self-interest. As a man who believes in some principles that would be considered MGTOW, I understand that they are not suitable for many men to live by and they are not in the best interest of so…

Autistic men are going to have a harder time with women, yes. But it makes no sense to assume that a guy who isn't neurologically defective like the red pillers and mgtow who talk like they are writing code for the companies they work for, is a chad, a bad boy, or a cad. Lol you're proving the point. You're not addressing the argument. Instead you're using a strawman, labelling dissenters as autistic, defective, and supporting your argument with what "normal" men do. Certain norms are not fixed …

As I said before, women say they love hubby but they truly desire the fuckboy. Men are not stupid, we see what women do and care little for what they say. This is so true. It's also ironic how when this is pointed out the denials become more roundabout and long winded.

That's logical, but it's much easier for women to use emotional manipulation and/or seduction. This becomes more pronounced the more attention a women gets based on her looks. They don't make it harder on themselves because there are far more men who will succumb to soft manipulation from a pretty woman than those who would resist it. That in itself is leverage. In fact, even women that aren't exceptionally pretty but have mostly male friends hang around with guys to avoid constant emotional man…

Anonymity or at a minimum subtlety are important. MGTOW wouldn't be possible if most or even half of men in society lived according to its principles. It's partly why some well known content creators such as Sandman don't put their identities/faces out there. A day in the life video could show a peaceful, productive man but people strongly opposed to MGTOW would rather launch personal attacks against that person instead of lauding the results of his lifestyle. Day in the life videos would be coo…

Lol indeed. Imagine a traditional business having this model/mindset. There's no shame for exploiting men which is ironic since the model depends on male sexual interest. If a pill were invented tomorrow to curb male sexual interest it would be banned by feminists with some roundabout logic

Very true. It only works if she's already attracted to you. In understand that there are potential dangers that women face when they reject men which is why I don't show interest in random women. There's no guarantee for the man that expressing interest doesn't lead to ridicule, shaming, and/or false allegations. This is why for a growing number of men meeting women in places where you regular go (office, gym, school) it's become too risky. Again, women shouldn't be harrassed or assaulted but it…

Yes. Women are sold the idea to have it all but they do not experience the lower extremes in society. The wage gap is practically a myth and women overwhelmingly receive financial support through other means. It's why they account for the bulk of consumer spending. Which means they're spending money they don't even have to earn.

Exactly. I didn't mention gold-diggers and I also emphasized that you'll bring quality people into your life. Living below your means while having a high income is an effective vettimg process. There are levels of wealth and income where it will inevitably show but how depends on the person.

That's understandable and I was mistaken with that term. It's usually the case in toxic relationships but it seems that doesn't apply here.

You did. You were a codependent enabler. It shows in the fact that you supported that person and downplay it because their "ruthless" ambition didn't pan out. You're justifying coddling someone that would've discarded you once their ambition was realized. If you weren't getting paid what's the point?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/21 07:43 PM

That's a classic example of the "I can change them" type of relationship. Dating a poor/broke mimbo, bad boy, or degenerate is usually the cause of that. The results would be different by choosing someone that's poor as a teenager/young adult who has career goals and realistic ambition. By picking the wrong young men you become a codependent enabler.

It's great that you had that but that's an exception, especially for someone growing up in a city or large town.

their problem is that they don't know how to show it. Most of them naturally lived well below their means and I wouldn't have known how much they had if I hadn't done my research. That's a good problem and wise way to live. By leading with signs of wealth a man is more likely to attract women only interested in his money. It's great to provide when you have it but living modestly by choice repels people that are after your wealth and makes it easier to surround yourself with quality people.

That's true. The r/deadbedrooms forum is evidence of that. Hugh Hefner wasn't playing video games though. Plus a relationship involves communication and action when sexual interest declines, not a crusade against leisure activities that others responsibly enjoy. If porn or video games "destroy" a marriage then that marriage was fundamentally flawed and doomed from the start.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/21 04:53 PM

Most of the articles are about (a) sex trafficking in the porn industry & (b) anecdotal evidence on quitting porn being beneficial to one's life. The front page claim about thousands of articles supporting the dopamine behavior is exaggerated. The heroin comparison is analogous to the reefer madness fear campaigns with the sex trafficking boogeymen for added effect. Sex trafficking is evil but this does not objectively assess the effects of porn. Also, stats from streaming sites show that porn c…

That's outdated. Actual sex isn't always good for one or both parties involved. 2020 and the pandemic saw a surge in female sex toys so even women are being more into self pleasure. Like all things they're only bad when they interfere with goals, health, and other aspects of life. Actual sex for the sake of not masturbating is extremely selfish

Yes this is the issue not being addressed in the OP. It's a fair point that a selective woman would male a man wait. This also leads to better LTR for men and women. It doesn't address the inconsistency and how some women pretend to hold this standard with all men they date. This isn't true in the real world and most women that are dating are prone to ONS while simultaneously making a good man wait. A man that is aware of this and can't confirm the consistency of the women is wasting his time. U…

This is true. What adds to it is that when bad things do happen such as assaults, robberies, etc.. it reinforces this mindset. People looking to go out for genuine social interaction are deterred from stepping outside. There's less of a sense of community especially in cities so as a whole people are moving away from these types of interactions. Even as a male, if a woman approached me for anything besides directions I'm assuming there's an ulterior motive.

A very blatant double standard. It's extremely hypocritical to shame the consumers of something that you advocate for and it's another form of misandry. But if it does become legalized more broadly in the US it could gain more widespread acceptance like other niche cultures and predominantly male interests.

This is true and much more practical than men forming a "united front". It's what most want with no hassle and would result in women having to be more genuine with what they bring to a relationship. With no nonsense access to sex a relationship with a woman would have to have more than just that. It's obviously the reason why sex work is so heavily criticized because it subverts the power that women have in terms of sex in a relationship. Even society supports this garbage with the mythology tha…

Your situation is an exception. Other women shame women way more than men regarding n-count and sex work. They'll proudly support promiscuity and sex work from a distance but a woman who's married or monogamous with a low n-count would be taking a risk to associate closely with high n-count women. Their actions reveal their true perspective and they instinctively know they'll be shunned based on the pasts of their inner circle so it's in their best interest to associate with people that are less…

Keeping a log? It's not that serious. But if you've lost count of the number of people who've entered your body that speaks for itself. In fact, promiscuous women usually have long-term partners but it doesn't dissuade them from sleeping around. It's practically encouraged because they know there's someone to "save" them when they have a dry spell.

This is an astute breakdown of relationship strategies based on functional and dysfunctional people. It also explains why the opposite can be appealing to a man or woman as they age because they've already spent their early years pursuing ot being pursued by their preferred type. Also, when financial resources weren't as accessible for women it made a lot more sense to commit to functional providers. The shift towards more dysfunction in the SMP is also a reflection of more degenerate behavior i…

Not knowing your " number" or a solid estimate is an indicator of a lower ability to pair bond. If a woman can't remember how many people she was intimate with what reason is there for the next relationship to be meaningful?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/21 01:37 AM
1

True. Thots are generally easy lays but they have little to no LTR potential. It's on the guy to weed out thots from his options if he wants an LTR. Pop culture is promoting more promiscuity for women but as a man you can only control yourself and how you navigate the SMP. Again, that's why building yourself is more important than dating.

It seems like half the posts on here are from guys wanting to know if their LTR is “shit testing” them or disrespecting them. 9/10 if they have to ask then they’re being disrespected. These guys are committing to women with a ton of red flags that they’ve swept under the rug because in reality they’re desperate. They set zero boundaries and have way too much invested in a woman that they have no business being with in the first place. I needed to hear this as I made this mistake last year at the…

It's one of the positive aspects of MGTOW. Finding purpose outside of relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/20 12:42 AM

That's sound logic. Hypergamy is rational for an individual until they want to have an authentic commitment. But for society it's detrimental when it taints the dating pool and leads to broken relationships. In fact, if it were stigmatized as much as male infidelity then monogamous relationships would benefit. But I agree that it makes sense in terms of competition for the best/ideal romantic partner.

It's challenging but worth it. Anger and negative emotions make a lot of situations worse when acted on. Even when justified it's not the route for personal growth and feeding into them creates a self destructive feedback loop.
