Just because a man doesn’t want strangers raising his kids doesn’t mean he believes childcare is solely a woman’s job. Hell my grandfathers who were born in the 1920’s tended to not only their babies/kids but others as well. Men love their kids just as much as women do.

My husband happily handles the responsibility of supporting the family financially while I focus on our kids and home. That doesn’t mean I never work, it just means the responsibility is his.

Absolutely. I would never have babies with a man who wasn’t willing and able to shoulder the responsibility of supporting us financially. I’m not having kids I have to let strangers raise.

I absolutely would not want to be a guy. The vast majority of women get on my last half a nerve. I can’t deal with the complaining, negativity, and comparisons. I like peace and fun and have little tolerance for those who shit on it. Im a nurse and thus work in a female dominated workplace and I tell people “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all” waaay too much. I’d be single forever for sure. 😂

Not necessarily. I’ve known many professional women who had one after another.

Too many women complain far too much. They’re negative and miserable and it’s sad because most of us are putting far too much time, energy and effort into doing life to be negative.

My husband is my best friend. I have great friends and I love spending time with them but it’s not even close to what I share with him.

I’d choose my husband over anything. Nothing makes me happier than being with him. I love my career, but it’s not even a close call.

To be fair, today’s feminists largely aren’t supportive of women choosing to be SAHM. They’re supportive of women who have careers as a priority.

Didn’t you make a vow to not leave? WTF did you make vows when you don’t love her and aren’t committed to her?

Or you could just act like an adult and ask directly for what you want instead of trying to manipulate your husband. Here’s the plan- marry a good man, treat him like gold, he’ll happily give you anything you want if you just ask for it simply and directly.

Married 34 years, 7 kids. I would recommend a weekly date night and a weekend away at least every other month.

I think they just haven’t found the one who brings so much happiness to their lives that they’re worth the effort. I don’t envy anyone trying to find their person nowadays and can understand being disillusioned with the whole dating and relationship world. I would recommend going old school- stay off the apps and just try to meet people in the wild through friends, family and activities.

We’ve been married for 34 years and infidelity has never been an issue. If it was, I know I couldn’t get over it. I would have him leave immediately but I’d still love and care for him.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 02:08 AM

Insecurity. When he opens the door to his vehicle and trash falls out. Gotta be taller than me (I’m 5’3” so not a big ask). Stupid. Doesn’t have hobbies other than being on screens. No manners. Doesn’t smell good or breath stinks. Watches porn or goes to strip clubs. No goals/direction. Lack of self discipline/self control. Angers/irritates easily.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/26 10:55 AM

I’m married to a type A personality. I make him relax, have fun and enjoy his life and what he’s worked for. I handle the paperwork and the rental property. I do all of the shopping for the household, most of the cleaning/laundry, and 3/4 of the cooking. I homeschool our kids and make most decisions pertaining to our 7 kids. I have worked as a nurse most of our marriage at least part time.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 08:35 PM

Everyone is allowed to set whatever standards they choose for the people they date. What you can’t do is force anyone to adhere to your standards. I have had no problem getting the quality of men I want with my standards. Admittedly I have high standards. I found him, married him, and 35 years later he’s still happily adhering to my standards. I’m a fabulous wife who makes him glad everyday he chose me. Based on results, my way works for me. Keep being cheap and you’ll likely end up being alone …
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 05:20 PM

It’s just a different type of man. I’m sure some women are looking for a man for whom making sure he spends as little on her as possible is a priority. Best of luck to you 🍀
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 03:48 PM

Good sense. A knowledge of human behavior. A great way of weeding out men who are either broke or insufferably cheap. He’s getting nothing from her, but he gets to keep his money. It’s not about the free food. It’s about his being generous with us. A man is exhibiting his best behavior on a first date, if he’s scared he’s going to do something for her that’s not a good sign.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 11:28 AM

I doubt that strategy is going to get you very far. A man being cheap is a significant ick for most women and you haven’t even had the chance to woo her with your charms. Even if you don’t tell her she’s paying until the end of the meal & everything went well up to that point, being cheap is like taking a firehouse to any flames that may have sparked. Very few women are attracted to cheap men.

Needing a provider doesn’t exclude them from being truly in love with their husband. If a man wants biological children, he has to have a woman to carry them, does that mean he doesn’t love his wife because he needs her for something?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 03:24 PM
25

You’re starting with a false dichotomy- the premise that you can have a relationship based on genuine desire or have a provider, not both. It’s perfectly possible and normal to be madly in love and also have expectations of the roles each of you will play in the marriage. These roles used to be decided by gender but now they require serious individual consideration and then communication with your potential spouse. I want my husband to be willing to be the sole provider so that I do what I feel …

We created 3, adopted 4 when they were middle school aged. We never planned to have this many, it just worked out like that. We wouldn’t take anything for our family though. Nothing better in this world than having the opportunity to watch kids take their place in the adult world and kill it.

I love my husband dearly, I pride myself on being an excellent partner and I’m one of the nicest people you ever want to meet. I’m a nurse and mother of 7 kids. But if my husband ever cheated on me he would soon think he went to hell and met the devil. He’d be lucky if I didn’t burn everything down with him in it or pull a Lorana Bobbit on him. That level of disrespect for yourself, your spouse and the family you created is absolutely disgusting and intolerable. I assure you, my husband isn’t th…

My husband receives love through physical touch, expresses love through acts of service. It’s not sexual for him, that’s a different touch. He can have sex whenever he wants it, no shame from me only excitement.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/26 07:36 PM

I agree with everything you said, except for cheating. You end the relationship, you don’t cheat. I love it that my husband just tells me what he wants from me & knows I’ll enthusiastically give it to him. He does the same for me. Simplicity and actually loving and caring deeply about the happiness of your spouse is a beautiful thing.

We as women have to be aware of the warning signs, have boundaries and enforce them. He gets angry and yells at you, demeans you or gets physically aggressive with you? That’s a one and done. Block him and never have anything else to do with him again. The decision of what you will & won’t tolerate should be made before you ever even meet him.

I would never try to talk anyone into marriage. But your rationale is a bit off. 1). There are very few guaranties in life. You do your best to make it work but if it doesn’t, you’ll live. 2) It’s not anymore weird to have your husband’s last name than it is to give your kids your last name. Having the same name indicates you a family. I don’t think it confuses anyone as to whether you’re separate people or not. 3). There’s always unpaid domestic labor for the vast majority of adults. How & by w…

The points you make are valid to an extent. But I don’t think the way the generations after GenX have been raised can be excluded as a part of the equation. Fear, anxiety, depression, extended dependency on parental support, less experience making decisions and dealing with the consequences, increasing numbers of kids from divorced homes, younger/much more exposure to the internet and social media. All of this affects who they are and how they interact in dating situations. It also depends on th…
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/26 04:07 AM

Absolutely not true.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/26 10:07 PM

This is a man thinking women think like he does. Largely we don’t. We go by emotions- how do I feel about him. Does he make me laugh? Feel comfortable? Safe? Do we have common interests? Do I enjoy talking to him? Am I physically attracted to him? Am I emotionally attracted to him? Are we in a similar life phase? Do we have similar goals?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/26 01:37 PM
3

For me it’s physical attraction, intellectual& emotional attraction, then sexual attraction. There’s none/very little sexual attraction outside of knowing the guy for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/26 06:02 PM
3

I think people are less able to deal with risk and uncertainty, especially the emotions involved with it and less confidence in themselves, their choices and their ability to handle their choices ending badly. I think it stems from the differences in the typical childhood experiences of the 20/30 something’s vs the GenX and older millennials.

So now you want to dismiss me because I’m 52 and female? I’m just too stupid to know what my husband does or doesn’t do? I have the passwords to all his devices. When he’s on his devices, he’s either at the bar in the kitchen or on the couch sitting next to me. He’s home with me the vast majority of the day. I’ve worked as a pediatric ER nurse for the last 20 years. I assure you my ability to quickly detect BS is top notch. Perhaps you should look into getting some help for your porn addiction, …

Sorry, we married in 1991, we were exposed to very little porn. We didn’t even own a computer or a cell phone. All we saw were magazines. We were very young, 18 and 22. We have imaginations and the toy store though and that’s kept things exciting enough for us. I’m not sure why you have such a problem with porn not being an integral part of our lives. You should really give that some thought.

I really don’t understand why people are so appalled by this concept but here we go. I think it’s pretty pathetic that someone can’t even imagine a satisfying sex life without porn. We don’t invite other people into our sex lives, period. That’s the foundational principle. We enjoy our sex life immensely and defend it fiercely. It’s something that’s just ours, involving only the two of us physically, emotionally, and mentally. We have a no porn, no nudie magazines/websites rule. Photorealistic A…

wtf? Again, married 34 years. My husband is hot as hell, my best friend and my absolute favorite person on the planet. Yes we makes good money but that’s a product of his attention to detail, ability to listen and understand what people are wanting from him, he does what he says he’s going to do, the way he goes above and beyond what is expected, his ability to work well with others, etc. Yes, the same exact traits that make him a great husband, father and friend.

My husband and I have had differing libidos over the years for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it was him wanting more sex, sometimes me. We’ve always communicated and been eager to meet each other’s needs. Sex is the icing on the cake of a healthy relationship but it can feel like 80% of the relationship when it’s not going well.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/04/26 01:04 AM

I’ve been all over him for nearly 35 years. I’ll let you know when it changes though. Just because you really like ice cream doesn’t mean you like licking the ice cream of everyone in the ice cream parlor. You can really like something but not want it just any ole way.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/26 07:23 PM

Some people don’t have sex outside of a committed relationship. They need to feel emotionally close to someone in order to want them sexually. I’m like this. Inside an emotionally close and committed relationship I’m all over him. Until I feel like we’re close and committed, nope.

I do have a good husband, that’s not an accident but a choice. There was never a time I couldn’t have supported my kids financially on my own if necessary. Again, another choice. I married 5 weeks after my 18th birthday, had my first baby at age 19, the second baby at age 21. Paid wives? I’m not sure what you mean by that.

My husband and I met at a friend’s house and spent 4 hours that night sitting on the porch talking. We talked about everything from values, upbringing, kids, pets, sex, money, previous relationships, etc. We talked this way for a week, got engaged, and married after knowing each other for two weeks. We’re celebrating our 35th anniversary this year. Best thing we ever did.

I’ve been a SAHM multiple times for multiple years. I didn’t give up my career. It is hard. I wouldn’t make babies with a man who would replace me with a younger woman. I require more character than that. We live in a no alimony state so that’s not an issue. 50/50 custody is becoming the norm, at least with school age kids. Financially it depends on why you value money. For us, money is a means to an end. It buys us choices and those choices enhance our lives. The choice of having a parent at ho…

I don’t know that I agree with your assessment of the data but I do agree far too many couples are not having a mutually satisfying sexual relationship. Like many other problems in marriage, people seem to rather ignore them and build resentment against their partner instead of resolving the issues. I will never understand. If we have a problem in our marriage, we’re going to address it sooner rather than later.

I know it’s hard to believe but many women don’t share any of those beliefs/traits. I couldn’t care less about “socially correct”, I appreciate & value men, I value and practice interdependence, I’m a nurse and gender quotas go the other way in my field but love my male nurse coworkers, I’ve never blamed the patriarchy for anything ever, I love my life, have never considered myself a victim and take full responsibility for changing anything I don’t like about my life, and I rarely complain about…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/26 05:58 PM

That’s not logistically possible. Even if the guy screwed two different women a day, 3 on the weekend days, that’s still only 16 women. Just because a woman screwed the player doesn’t mean she’s not actually looking for a relationship. He’s Mr. Right Now while she’s looking for Mr. Right. Perhaps study Prince. He was barely over 5ft tall and yet had many women dreaming of a night with him.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/26 05:47 PM

True the internet widens the search area but it also widens the competition as well. If instead of having the men in area A only as an option & only the women from area A to compete with now she has the men from areas A, B, C and D but she is also competing with the women from A, B, C & D. It goes both ways.

You can be a nice guy, even a quiet type, and still be confident. Being a nice person doesn’t mean you’re a doormat, don’t advocate for what you want or allow people to mistreat you. Confidence with women has to do with being willing to initiate conversations, activities and dates, take the next step in advancing the relationship, stating your boundaries and enforcing them, etc.

Dude, I’m 52 years old. I’m a nurse, everything I own is paid for, I’ve been married for 34 years and if I wanted a divorce I’d be in the attorney’s office Monday. I’m perfectly capable of taking care of myself, am very clear about what I like and don’t like, and I don’t do anything I don’t like doing. I’ve always had a high libido, I don’t have to screwed 50 guys to prove it because again, I don’t do anything I don’t want to do. I only have sex inside a committed relationship.

I’m a traditional woman. I have never had sex outside of a committed relationship and only one guy besides my husband. I’ve been married for 34 years now and I’d have sex every day, multiple times the same day most days, if my husband was up for it. Just because a woman doesn’t have sex outside of a committed relationship doesn’t mean she doesn’t like sex and have a high drive. It does mean she has self control which is always a good thing.

Don’t get married if that’s the way you feel. For my husband and me, marriage is a commitment to work it out together. We’ve done life together through our 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and are now in our 50’s. We are committed to being happily married. He is my absolute favorite person and I can’t wait to see him continue to change and grow. We’re religious and believe the man is held responsible for the family by God. If you’ve ever sent two kids to clean the playroom, saw it wasn’t done, and asked who is responsible for it not being cleaned you know why. However, in 34 years of marriage, I’ve never been asked to submit simply because he’s the man. I’m his wife. He values my thoughts, opinions and happiness highly. Most of the time, I get what exactly what I want. Biblical leadership is sacrificial. We discuss things. He doesn’t ma…

I love that he loves to touch me. We hold hands, sit next to each other, etc. I love that when I’m losing my shit, he calms the storm. I love that he’s chivalrous. I love the way he loves our kids and grandkids and the way he helps younger men find their way. I love his work ethic, seeing what he’s built and hearing others talk about how great of a job he does. I love that he shows up just as I’m about finished baking something sweet. I love his passion for his hobbies. I love that he knows how …

Or we could just allow fathers the opportunity to have a DNA test before support is ordered. If he chooses not to, that’s on him.

So it takes a strong man to ask a woman to pay for the date? That doesn’t make sense. Paying for the date really isn’t about the money, it’s about whether he’s going to make me feel taken care of or not. I’m looking for a man who handles things. It’s okay if that’s not you but don’t yuck someone else’s yum.

I don’t want anyone to change. I want my guy to be who he wants to be and let me fall in love with that person. No matter how a decent guy is, some women will be attracted to him and some won’t. Just be the person you want to be.

They’re sexist. Plain and simple. Choose your friends wisely.

So you’re only sex positive if you have sex with whoever whenever?

I’d be complaining too if I wasn’t having sex. 🤷‍♀️

Absolutely. I was filling out medical forms electronically the other day, clicked the drop down list for the people who can access your medical information and “ex spouse” was an option. 🤷‍♀️😂

At home I have a shit ton of stuff to do, it’s distracting and makes it hard to just relax and focus completely on being together. My husband is an introvert but happily plans trips with me for this very reason. Dates get us both away from the distractions of every day life, gets us out of our everyday clothes and routines, and again allows us to focus solely on us as a couple. It’s a time set aside for us to reconnect and refocus. While we already have a great sex life, vacation sex and date ni…

When I was 20, 5’3” & hot I wanted a guy who was very attentive, chivalrous, had goals he’s working towards, no drugs/little alcohol, secure, assertive, taller than me and can handle me. I found him at age 18.

We have three biological children I gave birth to at age 19, 21, and 38. We took custody of four more kids at separate times later on. I’ve always wanted to be a mother. Having a front row seat to watch these amazing humans grow, learn, develop skills, discover themselves and take their place in the adult world like a boss has been the greatest adventure and honor I could imagine. My kids range from 32-13 and I can’t picture my life without a single one of them. They are each an amazing gift. I …

I’m a pediatric nurse both in the ER and in a medically fragile foster home. I also do volunteer work with the elderly. While I love my jobs(for the most part) the two are completely different in terms of reward. At work paperwork, patient load, rules, time constraints, etc. limit what I can do to help. When I volunteer, I don’t have those constraints. The two are different. People need something bigger than themselves to participate in. There are many ways of going about it but volunteering for…

Huh? This is the most ridiculous comment. If you need to feel valued as a human being, start doing regular volunteer work helping other people. Screwing a bunch of random people isn’t going to fix what’s missing inside you. At most it will mask it for a short time. Physical attraction is how the vast majority of relationships start. You need to touch grass.

Absolutely. I read somewhere the average age of porn exposure for boys is age 8. Idk if that’s true, but there are so many young men who know nothing about actual females, their bodies, or how their minds work. Their expectations of women and sex are unrealistic. That’s of course assuming they can even have sex and climax with a woman.

I’m female, married 34 years, raised 4 girls, 2 boys and have a 13yo son at home. I have definitely seen a man hating trend on social media. SM is the biggest influence in the lives of many young women. The grouping and categorizing of people and then assigning attributes to them is nothing but prejudice. It’s an error in thinking. I’ve also seen a huge amount of women complaining about their relationship with their man and somehow everything is his fault and she’s an innocent victim.

Yep. We’ve got busy with kids/work/life and neglected our marriage many times. One of us senses the disconnect, talks to the other about their unmet needs or wants, and we figure out how to make it happen. We’re adults, we love each other and want each other to be happy. I’m excited to help my husband get as much enjoyment out of life as possible.

I have to agree. We’ve been married 34 years, raised 7 kids, there were a lot of chores but sex was & is a highly valued connection, destressor and enjoyment. It’s the opposite of a chore for either of us.
