As long as you're not infringing on anyone else's life, that's perfectly fine. Take whatever precautions you need to make you feel safe. I've had women cross the street on me when walking alone at night. It didn't hurt me physically at all or put my safety into question. Sucks that it's like that, but that's the world we live in.

Not sure how familiar you are with this case, but was there any physical evidence or just her testimony? From the article I read about the arrest when it first happened, it just sounds like she told police what happened and what vehicle the man drove.

Yeah that makes sense. It's just based on the article provided and another article about the arrest when it first happened, the only evidence mentioned was her as a witness and a description of a truck that matched his. I think him being a known meth user definitely didn't help either.

I'm really confused. They just really took the man into custody with nothing more than her word? No photos, videos, or physical evidence of any kind? I get that there's gonna be bad actors who abuse the justice system like this, but you would at least think that the police would do better due diligence. I've seen them put more effort into investigating parking tickets. I'm glad the woman's in custody, but damn feel sorry for that guy.

I think if any man willingly sleeps with a woman he finds her attractive on some level. I think this is a great thought experiment. Whether you wanna say people are right or wrong, there's a good amount of women that believe a random man is more dangerous than a bear. The goal should've been to explore why that is and what can be done to remedy this. I think both men and women should work together for it. Just because people don't intend to cheat doesn't mean they're opposed to it. I don't always go out looking for tacos, but if I'm running errands and see a taco truck on my way back I may stop by. The people who don't intend to cheat but do always had it as an option whether they know it or not.

That's true. My spouse's family lives in Mexico in a city that's not particularly safe but as long as we go where we're supposed to go, we're fine. I never felt too threatened there. Meanwhile, there's streets here in the US where we live that I would never walk down

I'm no law expert, but it's crazy to me the spectrum in which the law and court of public opinion treat rape/sexual assault. In some instances, it's too lenient like with the case of Brock Turner where the dude was caught in the act on top of his victim and Turner only served 6 months. In other cases the evidence is flimsy at best and they sentence an innocent man like Anthony Broadwater to do hard time only to release him 16 years later after a third party found holes in the case.

I cried when my sons were born and my mom held them for the first time. I have everything I could ever want, but I just have a bit of melancholy since my dad isn't here to experience it with me (he passed two years prior). He was the best grandad to my niece, so I know he would've lit up my boys' life too. It's that combination of happiness, grief, and appreciation that gets me.
