I think the point isn't that women are protected, because they clearly are not in this conflict. If I were being charitable I would assume they meant don't expect us to care you're upset about abortion being banned, when you don't care about us in any capacity. I have some qualms about prisons, sport and children/puberty blockers. Bathrooms, and just existing, do not care. Aside from the whole debate itself, I do think TERFs come across as vile, bitter people. Further their hate of trans women in particular reflects their hate of men, and their pity for trans men reflects the lack of agency and the women are wonderful effect of how they see women.

The biggest overlooked aspect is also that women are more risk adverse and have more to lose by pregnancy, so will always be more willing to take contraceptives than trust that a man has taken them correctly, compared to vice versa. This is an absolute cast iron truth that will never change and will always change the equation on male birth control. It's not a perfect mirror for men. Studies show women are slightly less forgiving of attractiveness than men instead willing to focus on other things like height and status or 'ability to provide'. Considering how picky they are just in the sense of how attractive they find the average man I guess this makes sense otherwise they would never find a partner, but still. That's really not a very helpful take on this. This woman was actually raped, by a penis. It's pretty fair that a man is going to be the prime suspect. That's not the issue at hand here at all. The issue was that the police force for whatever reason seemed to want a conviction regardless of the cost. The op above made some good points about how politically important rape convictions have become, that's the real issue here, with a bit of male disposability thrown in the mix.

I don't think this is really that bad, depending on the exact messaging. It's true there is an image of a mad old man scientist, maybe tinkering with old steampunky equipment until the middle of the night. Real science IS completely different to this. My issue with it is it was boring, too long and the plot made no sense. The literal only things going for it was it was pretty and a few of the jokes were quite funny. All of that is ignoring the feminist aspect which was done by telling us about patriarchy instead of showing exactly how it manifests which would have been impressive. Instead we got a bunch of silly things happening in the real world that bare no resemblance to real life. It wasn't a masterpiece, it wasn't even good.

I don't think this sort of rape is a big part of the statistics, although when it happens it's infuriating. I think women genuinely are raped at higher rates and the most violent rapes are done to women by men. I would argue that's largely biology though. In the west we have come so far in reducing rape and the vast majority of men want to see less of it. Hardly a society built for men when most men want zero rape.

To be fair I skimmed that study, it seems to be more about when men stop working full time, which is more likely to be involuntary with a man than a women ie fired as opposed to leaving to look after the kids.
