Men care more about physical attractiveness than women when picking partners. When the group is men sleeping with other men, this can pretty toxic. Being thin, young, and white is very important, unfortunately. Gay men suffer from ED at higher rates than straight men because our culture is different than yours. I said we shouldn’t disregard anyone’s opinion, so I think it’s clear I don’t believe a single party decides. However, when a demographic claims discrimination, they should be the most important voice. I’m trying to say that the original tweet is most likely a woman complaining about men who ignore women’s opinions on misogyny. Men don’t get to simply decide that their actions aren’t sexist. Men who do sexist shit never think they are sexist. They deny the negative impact of their words and actions because they don’t believe their intentions are sexist. They are assholes, but they’re specifically misogynistic assholes. If you look through the people who make these comment’s histories you will see they repeatedly make the same types of comments belittling women. I don’t think every user is a misogynist, but being a regular browser of this sub can easily desensitize people to misogyny or possibly create new sexists.
