Right their stance is confirm consent. As I see it, it's a guide for a demographic that may not be familiar with consent or historically has had troubles hence the emphasis on confirming (looks like a college handout). In the other thread the guy was giving us the benefit of the doubt and assumed we were experienced and empathetic enough to recognize consent.

That's a good point, but fyi the difference is "statistically significant" but the amount by which it's different (30 points) is the effect size. It's up to human judgement to gauge effect sizes as significant or not, but there's no statistical test.

Any more direct literature on the regaining control part or relieving trauma? I'm familiar with it generally but not in the sexual abuse context. In the linked study, for example, I'm not sure how it supports the motives of those prostitutes as psychological coping mechanisms. They note that the vast majority of participants were runaways and started as juveniles, so a lack of resources, family, or other support are also major factors.

Just wanted to touch on the crouch thing. Why are you able to use him as an example of stifling genetics? Has he tried to get big but can't? Afaik you're assuming he can't get bigger because he's a footballer so he should be big via his athletic training (correct?). I agree but I said nothing about actions vs word or definitions. I talked extremist vs core. So I see no good reason to judge an entire group by extremist actions vs core actions. Rather, judge the extremists by extremist actions and core by core actions. What is the problem with that?

How would you go about testing that? The way your question is posed would require proof of a negative (women don't want something). Good luck with that. However, if instead you open up the field to "why is there such a discrepancy?", you're better suited to tackle the question and after extensive testing maybe you could make a claim like there is no external societal pressure affecting women and stem. Are you in a stem field by chance? If so then you should really be aware that your "valid reasoning" actually needs evidence to support it. This is true of pretty much any discipline except maybe math, but even then you need to rigorously justify your proposals. How would you propose your reasoning be tested?
