I think we're in the same boat. I'm also 16, and have been on and off of nofap for the past 3 months. I broke up with my most recent girlfriend in February. My suggestion at this point? Try going out and meeting new girls at other school's football games or something, and then see if anything happens between you and this one girl in the future.

Women are crazy, dude. Don't fret too much. Spend some time trying to improve yourself before you try to go straight back into a relationship with a new girl. Hit the weight room and pick up a hobby, and possibly try /r/nofap (it helped for me). How old are you, by the way?

I've had a girl do this to me recently. I was planning on asking this girl out on a date for the next Friday or Saturday. I can say that I honestly disagree with your first sentence, but I totally respect your opinion. I can agree with your second sentence besides how you say the "magical connection" is rare. Sometimes it's difficult to find someone for you, but I wouldn't describe it as "rare". Almost all love does die eventually, so I agree with you there.
