Yeah so I make connections. This may sound rude, but a lot of times I find they go over people's heads. Like maybe my sense of humor is to subtle?

I think that's why it's so difficult for me to escalate. I think people with Aspergers are actually very keen on when they are being persuaded to do something and feel like any effort to do so will be seen through. But it almost never is. Usually salesmen or guys hitting on girls seem extremely transparent and obvious and I'm like, "How the fuck do you think this would work?" Then it does and I'm like, "How the fuck did that work?

If I didn't care about their feelings I wouldn't have posted this. I could easily just say, "Fuck em," and keep going. As it is I try to tone it down but when I tone it down I end up getting nowhere but alone. Yet when I'm more relaxed and going with the flow, making conversations with strangers and telling girls when I think they're pretty it makes some of my friends uncomfortable. But anywhere else they'll tell me, "We need to get you a girlfriend." But when I go and flirt with a girl in a way…

Yeah. I totally agree but if I'm at a concert or a bar, I'm going to be having fun and being silly. There's a time and a place for it, but is that time and place not when I'm having some drinks and letting loose? Plus this whole not being serious thing is kind of new to me so I'm learning the calibration part. I know I can get a bit too hyper now and then but how else will I ever learn how to fully integrate my playful side with my serious side if I don't let it loose and have some fun with it o…

Actually they do IMO. When I'm not rational, like in social situations that can't be rationalized and the variables become too much to figure out, I become insecure unless I say "fuck it" and let go of trying to figure it out which is really hard to do but I can do it at certain times, like the concert. When I do I have great results both inside and out, but those who know me well don't seem to like me acting all silly and seemingly immature to them. But I like me acting all silly and if that me…

That's partially true, and partially me trying to explain something that keeps happening. Truth be known I have an bad anxiety disorder. I got drunk last night and everything was fine until about 20 minutes til closing time and then we went to this one place that made me feel like a fish out of water and both him and my married friend (who also said he felt like a fish out of water) got hit on by two hot girls while I got nowhere. So the scientist in me wonders, "Why is this happening?" And I he…

See I'm a really small guy. I'm 5'7 and about 130 lbs. and I feel like when girls get drunk and start acting on their more primal instincts that I just keep getting passed up for not being big, tall or strong enough. Even when I did hit the gym back in the day and got up to 140 or so, no one could tell I had a nice body unless I was at the pool. I know this is a block I have to work through but going out with him is really kind of demoralizing because I always feel like the girls want him and no…

It's his hair. He has hair like Troy Polamalu and girls are always telling him how much they like it, running their fingers through it, etc. I think it's like a natural form of peacocking. But how can an unnatural peacock like myself add some fancy tailfeathers? :-)

Someone somewhere once said comparing yourselves to others is unfair because you're looking at their highlight reel and you're looking at your uncut work. You don't get to see all the times that one guy did go home alone and think, "Man, it seems like everyone around me was crushing it tonight and I'm just sitting here, masturbating." But remember if you get depressed again it's not your fault and you're not doing anything wrong. Depression is an medical condition which symptoms include low self…
