Any thoughts?I would say (and I am not an actual thought leader on this at all) that although the specific kind of oppression we experience does depend on our identity, we all suffer oppression from the same source (these things like sexism, racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, etc.) So for example sexism holds women and men to very different standards so very different forms of oppression. Any thoughts?The book by Bell Hooks is a critique of the whole movement of feminism and it has a historical lens which I really enjoyed. It then gets into more modern critiques, calling for complete gender equality and liberation of all peoples. Hooks doesn't speak specifically about "patriarchal violence" or the Duluth model soooo idk? I recommend these readings just cause I think if you're going to critique something, it's good to get some insight from people who are within it.
