23 and 17 is entirely legal in my country, unless you mean physically forced rape. So its hard for me to see that guy as a victim. A 17 year 364 day old not being able to consent is stupid conceptually anyway. (I would say the exact same thing if a 23 year old male dated a 17 year old female) The other situation, I would consider statutory rape and deeply unethical.

You are going to be horrifically beaten and raped in prison too. You just won't be credited as having suffered the punished, and you will also lose years of your life, and you won't have proper treatment for your injuries. I am talking about Norwegian style jails, not concentration camps like alligator Alcatraz in America.

They can give you money and prison if humane is still a reasonable life, can even have conjugal visits. It would basically be like getting paid to work a particularly time intensive job. No amount of money is gonna make cutting off fingers or being whipped 60 times worth it.

False years in jail in humane conditions can be compensated with money. Horrifically torturing people cant be compensated with money. Theres no corporal punishment that is a reasonable deterrent without essentially being horrific torture. So I rather have the former be a punishment than the latter. Especially when judges fuck up so often

What if wrongly found guilty? Government can't undo torture like waterboarding, removing peoples nails or teeth, having animals rape them on rape racks or whatever crazy torture people come up with.

I mean all aside, nobody has a right that people donate to a charity that benefits their demo. If I want to donate to wikipedia or something, that doesnt mean I have to donate to the homeless shelter.

Look I don't like Israel either, but random housewives who were kidnapped by terrorists probably are "innocent" at least enough to not be taken as hostages. Just to be clear though, I definitely don't like Israel either and am not defending their invasion of Gaza.

Its incredibly likely that this is the case, most Japanese students would never get up to no good in their school uniforms because each school has a distinct uniform that can be traced to the school. Actual highschool girls would just dress like a 21 year old if they were out and about, last thing they would do is wear their sailor uniform to a seedy place.

They lost because eventually they couldn't afford to keep going and never won over the local population. Point is that conventional militaries cannot defeat motivated fighters in an asymmetric war. We seen this in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Laos and other places.
